The Manchester United Thread

I went over to mates in Leeds once to get the train up to OT the following morning and they said "I'll make you some tea".
I was looking forward to a cuppa and they came out with spaghetti bolognese?

Dier would be too expensive, as would Lukaku and they are both not that great.

Forget those two and go for more viable options, they'll be just as good if not better than them.

Actually wouldn't mind Lukaku. Proven in the division, ambitious, always in the conversation for Golden Boot in a lesser side, could have a Van Persie type of impact goalswise. Will be overpriced though

No way near as good as RVP honestly in terms of all round game, first touch is like an elephant.

But my issue is, with Lukaku he will no doubt score goals, but at what cost to our all round play to give him service? If we want to be a bit more progressive next season and play with good movement like we do with Rashford up top, we surely need a more dynamic striker.

Ok, Take 3

IN
-Keane
-Mendy
-Griezmann
-Quality CM(Dani Ceballos?)
-Do we need a new striker? If yes, Morata, not Belotti

OUT
-Smalling
-Rooney
-Fellaini

First you wanted Herrera out, and now you want Ceballos in. Dude, remember what Mike. said. It's not FM. :D

If the reported fee is between 45-55m for Dier that ain't expensive in today's market tbh and he's English and a good player. Think we will be using Rooney to get the fee down on Lukaku and won't be a tough deal with Riola involved after last Summer. Plus there's no way he's gonna cost anything like 80-100m what there after. Guarenteed goals! Tbh not many viable options at ST that are of good quality. Same goes for DM, but Fabinho would be my first choice but he's not miles ahead of Dier in terms of quality. Bonus he can play RB.

Most blues don't want Rooney back. Everton are in no great rush to sell Lukaku. (Who wants to play with Rooney for what that's worth.). Even less so when Barkley goes. That price isn't dropping.

And Lukaku and his lack of work rate under Mourinho? Sounds a perfect match.

Mourinho was the one who got rid of Lukaku so why on earth would he want him now! It makes no sense!

Belotti would benefit us much more to the team. Admittedly we lack goals but he'll bring them too.

I wouldn't fancy Lukaku now if I'm honest.
I think we need to move on from the incessant 'spread to the wing and hoof it in' bullshit.

We played much better football without a target man on the pitch.

Couldn't agree more.

lukaku will not be arriving.too expensive and not good enough imo, very good player though when used correctly

He also got rid of Mata. Different team with different circumstances.

Mourinho didn't get rid of Lukaku he asked to leave just like Mata did. Different situation now!

You say Belotti would bring goals before this season in which he has been very good no doubt. He has averged 10 goals or less in previous seasons. Isn't really dynamic or has great link up play either for what it's worth and would cost about same as Lukaku.

Same difference. He saw no opportunity and no future at Chelsea.
Not the same really. It's completely different. He would be our main STR not a bit part player like he would of been at Chelsea. Should never of moved there in the first place. Would love him here. Prem proven plus gives us goals what we need. And one of the few strikers actually available.

Times and Guardian reporting now Herrera no interst in Barca move and new contract imminent. Love the little guy :)

I was responding to your line that he didn't get rid of him.

FWIW, aside from Everton making a **** tonne of money, I'd love him at Utd too.
