The Manchester United Thread

This is a very good take on where things stand. I would tend to agree with what is written in this link. Have a look and see if you agree:
TwitLonger — When you talk too much for Twitter

Guy has lot of things wrong in that tbh. Mixes release clause with buy-out and goes on about structuring of the deal when Griezmann if he indeed buys out his contract is required by spanish law to deposit the buy-out in full to spanish FA.

I also really doubt Athletico will negotiate. They were banking on getting replacements in and then they would most likely have agreed on a fee bit below the buy-out clause, but now I doubt there is another way of getting him then Griezmann himself triggering his buy-out clause.

100m euros for Griezzmann, I would pay it no questions asked, apart from structuring which we could try and negotiate.

Especially when you consider the absurd price Lukaku is going to go for anyway. Out of the two I'd rather bomb out for Griezzmann than Lukaku.

Lukaku will score goals and he is a good striker. But £80m for him is absolutely absurd.

id walk to spain myself if it meant getting griezmann, wouldnt pay more than 60 mil for lukaku but they wont accept that

With Griezmann now potentially not coming (I still hope&believe :(..)
I feel we should go hard in on Fabinho and Lukaku/Morata/Belotti, maybe even Perisic?
And then focus on maybe getting a new LB/CB?
Potential Team?

Pff topic but what site do you make that on? - for future reference during the window.

As we're linked with the right positions I suppose.

"Now more than ever! #atleti #alltogether." this is what griezmann posted on social media

The ban has killed the deal. It's clear that he he doesn't want to leave them in the lurch. He can't be replaced till January at best. Also means no morata to Chelsea.

Yep looks like what's happened. Looks like Costa will stay. Morata to Milan is edging closer. Belotti, Lukaku, Lacazette for the no9 spot. djs we don't know Zlatan is off. Riola said there's a chance he's staying.

So what, James plan B? If Jose has identified that sort of #10 area as an area of needed improvement, then I'd assume he's looking at the alternatives he traditionally has on his "list"?

Then again, I think Griezmann was just about prolific goals & quality to take the burden off the #9 more than anything, something you're not quite as guaranteed with James

Lukaku, Lacazette, Belotti for me. Would be happy with James tbh. Good alternative assists, scores goals, can beat a man. In all honestly no idea what's gonna happen. Not panicked and confident Ed will get Jose the players he wants for the teams next steps.
