The Manchester United Thread

Well that developed fast :) well happy with that! Would of been happy with Moratta but Madrid can **** off now not budging on the price thinking he was our only target lol. And say goodbye to DDG! Well done mister Woodward!

Would much prefer if Chelsea got Morata rather than Lukaku.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is a curve to get Morata fee lowered. What an odd window this is turning out to be. On, off, on, off.

Everton camp denying any deal. Looks like United have jumped the gun ...

Doubt it. Would potentially work if Madrid were actively trying to offload Morata, which they aren't. They also sold Mariano to Lyon so would need to replace if sold.

They might not be but it's well noted Morata isn't happy and wants first team football.

That still isn't a reason for them to budge on the price.

If they want an unhappy player and wages on their books for another season I guess that's their problem. Personally I think they are having trouble selling some of their players like Rodriguez because of their demands.

I think this Lukaku signing makes sense for a lot of reasons, I'm not totally happy but there is a lot to be positive about with this deal. Not only just the player we're getting but the message it sends to Madrid, the Morata money was going on M'bappe, where is that coming from now? Who are Chelsea replacing Costa with now? They could be left in a market with very few options now.

personally im happy with the lukaku deal,we were always going to be paying over the odds for whoever we got.He is a proven premier league scorer and hopefully he can push on and become a better all round player under jose whilst helping us win trophies

£75m good deal in this market, everyone thought more around £100m.

Regarding Scouse's earlier post, couldn't give a tosh what Everton fans think, they are happy to be losing the second highest goalscorer in last 5 Premier League seasons, only second to Aguero by the way?

I have a hard time believing they are happy about it, where they are going to replace Lukaku's goals from I'd love to know.

Weigl would be fantastic for us btw, of all midfielders to sign this summer, I'd love him the most.

If you just see as it as a pure goals output you wouldn't be.

If you look at his performances and the way those goals come around. Mentioned it countless times on these here boards but the Blues main gripe is he's a lazy **** 9 times out of 10 who disappears the big games. Unplayable when he wants to be. Which is the frustrating factor as he has it all.

I think frustration more than laziness, but one thing Mourinho won't accept is that anyway, so I'm not worried. He wouldn't be making this signing if he was worried about his mentality. Although I do question now whether it was Mourinho's choice to sell him or the board at Chelsea. Personally I'm thinking the latter if this signing happens.
