I think Shaw will thrive in this system, with more dynamism in it

Definitely, especially with the balance Matic is bringing. In a 4-3-3 with Valencia and Shaw bombing forward, Matic and Herrera protecting/covering, Pogba joining in with the front 3 more (Martial/Rashford+Lukaku+Mkhitaryan/Mata) it's frightening.

Matic brings tactical flexibility.

Adam Crafton tweeted earlier that Mou wants a FB and LW. To complete his team. Have to agree.

Depends what type of winger. If it's one that offers natural width (doesn't want to come inside constantly) and fits Mou's needs, I'd be open to that. But if it's just another wide forward, then we're more than covered. Do think we need a RB now after TFM, but would've been open to a LB at the start of the window too tbh. Really hope Shaw gets some luck this season.

Still think we will end up with Perisic late on. Especially now Inter are signing a few players. ParisUtd still adament about Aurier if he can get a wp

If he's loyal to his club, why would he be leaving next year? ;).

Loyalty is a thing of the past in football outside of the very rare occurrences of a local lad coming through and sticking with a club. Most every player now has one or two big moves mapped out in their career to maximise potential. Prime example being talked about today. Martial. He's had one. He'll more than likely look for another at some stage. They're all mercenaries now.

Staying a year and then doing one wouldn't really make Greizmann any less of a mercenary than anyone else today.

That's the modern game.
It does because it gives atleti time to replace him

Just finished watching Mourinho presser. Talking about Lindelöf. Said he left him out as he's needs time just the same as when he signed Carvalho for Chelsea. It was difficult for him and will be same for Lindelöf. Sometimes will be in and out the squad but he has no doubts that he will be a fantastic CB like Carvalho. For Utd. Also read a few places that Mourinho said in one of his interviews after the match that more signings are likely.

**** me Madrid are scary good. Tore Barca a new one even being down to ten. Asensio gonna be a star!

puts the euro super cup into perspective, utd criticised heavily for being outclassed but the truth is real are way ahead of everyone.no shame in losing to such a team

It shows how class Real are, but it also shows how Barcelona are nothing to fear. Neymar wasn't so slow to get out, sinking ship. Although they could use his sale money to somewhat steady that ship with a CM (Coutinho) & a LW (Dembele).

Anyone else notice Suarez' decline? Of course still a class player, and he'll still decide matches, but his all round game only seems half of what it was in his Liverpool time/early seasons for Barca.

With Barca just confirming the signing of Paulinho I think Coutino or Dembele would directly replace Neymar on that left wing. Big boots to fill tho!

Paulinho is underwhelming tbf. Adds to a list of questionable recruitment the last few seasons.

they are in decline im afraid, the likes of puyol, xavi, iniesta, villa were always gonna be hard to replace plus messi is showing signs of slowing up too although still one of the best.real streets ahead right now.

They focused too heavily on MNS (which is fine, they're the best front trio of the modern game), but they really abandoned any care for balance throughout the team.

It's as if they and Madrid have swapped places. Madrid prided themselves on galactico superstars, particularly in the final 3rd/attacking half, Barca prided themselves on a quality midfield playing super football - it's the other way around now (and Barca have even lost a strong degree of that galactico forward tag with Neymar gone).

Every top 6 team in the PL has a CM/CAM that would walk into Barca's midfield.

Whether it's Pogba, Bernardo & David Silva, De Bruyne, Coutinho, Kanté, Dembele, Eriksen, Cazorla, etc. they'd all be in with a strong shout of benching Andre Gomes, and some of them Rakitic.

Imagine being able to say that about Barcelona?
