The Manchester United Thread

He will face tougher challenges, but this is why I was lauding him, especially over someone like Dier

Tbh, if and it's a big IF, Matic keeps up that kind of performance level, then Herrera doesn't stand much chance if we use 4-2-3-1 regularly.

Matic makes Herrera almost seem like a kid in a school playground, don't get me wrong I love Herrera but he's not on the level Matic was yesterday. Plus Matic is much more physically imposing obviously.

Its not a big if tbh. That was Matic at about 8/10

Hope you're right! Still only one game though so need to try and stay calm. We did actually make a good start last season, won 3 on the bounce at start of league campaign I believe.

When he has a clearly defined role, he is excellent. We will definitely have tougher games. But then I expect us to play 3 man mids with Pogba and Herrera

it really is a shocking decision to sell to utd considering how many players they have let go but most importantly to a potential title rival!chelsea fans are not happy in general

We weren't particularly convincing lol. The wins were like grinded out wins

Mourinho has indicated that Lindelof can play at right back if necessary, although the Portuguese has not ruled out the prospect of bringing in another full-back before the close of the transfer window on Aug. 31, especially as Antonio Valencia is requiring regular ice packs on a persistent knee injury. Despite his lingering problem, Valencia continues to play at a high intensity but United are eager to ensure he does not suffer a setback.
Might explain our interest in Aurier.

Drinking game:

Drink every time Paddy Crerand says "in actual fact".

That Sigurdsson transfer from Swansea is a nice bit of luck for us this weekend.
Maybe we will get a rub of the green to go with a bit of good old fashioned hard work this season.

Never realised Swansea have Claude Makelele as a coach, what a midfielder he was back in the day. Must be great having someone like him there, thought he'd be able to land himself at a bigger club.
