Meanwhile Ivan Perisic got 2 Assists today in a 3-1 win against Roma, both from crosses down the left side.

Pretty woeful for that amount and only 9 successful/2 chances created from them. If you want to be a great team, going to have to be far more productive with them then that, especially against the top teams.

I get that people want Martial and Rashford to play, but honestly, they'll have plenty of opportunities if we get a winger or not.

Looking at that, it just tells me, how BADLY we could do with one in this team, doesn't have to be an auto starter, but we need someone who can offer that.

Don't forget if Lukaku gets injured any time first half of season up until January... Rashford is covering there also.

Mourinho wanted a winger before this window started, we shouldn't be saying 'well we will be fine without one'... there can be no excuses at the end of this season.

At the end of the day, Mourinho wants one, whether we'll get one, looks unlikely. But for me it is something we could look back on at the end of the season and think that's where we should of addressed. Was one of the priorities for me this summer, as well as Mourinho's.

You could tell on the touchline yesterday he wasn't happy at times with out width, kept instructing to certain players that they were staying too narrow.

Dont think he said winger. Remember him saying wide player in most of his pressers. We have Shaw and Young back close to first team action. Which is plenty for me no point buying for buying sakes imo.

Not being funny but how the f*ck is Young still here? The fact that he is even considered as a part of this squad kind of worries me. I expected him to be one of the first gone. Truth be told that's the spot we were replacing in reality, only with more quality with someone like Perisic, if it happened.

I really dont think you understand the success rate of crosses to chances created. Its really not that high, we dont need a crosser. Martial was causing havoc curling balls in

Because he's solid, very consistent, excellent delivery, covers about 4 positions.

He was actually pushing them up the pitch, it wasn't width

He doesn't want a winger, he wanted someone that would allow him to play 3-5-2 when needed

Im watching the full match now and he's definately getting them up the pitch. Don't know what's wrong with Young. Good squad player always solid fills different roles/positions. Good delivery and good in the dressing room and no problem for the manager when not selected. Would cost 50-60m to replace him.

Mike, how can you read that... 2 chances created from 40+ crosses... is anywhere near productive enough? You think we'll get that luxury against better teams? Really have to have more quality then that.

The only thing Young is consistent at last few seasons... is not making the bench. Picks up too many niggles and can't be relied on for real moments of quality. Which is what you need at the level we are playing at now, we're not Europa League anymore boys. *facepalm*

TOD and Mike, won't say a bad word, but we still need a winger.

You need on average 65 crosses per goal....

Funnily enough he's played in the champions league mate We're also playing in the Premier League, we've got about 60 games give or take, and he's a squad option.

As for special moments, I do remember pulling our *** out the fire against Basel with an injury time goal.

We've always had players like that in the side. He's not even in the regular 18, but OMG LETS GET RID OF HIM

So seems Pereira is leaving on loan again... to Valencia.

Look, it doesn't take much, but I am genuinely ****** off with this if it happens. He was in La Liga last season and was outstanding. We don't need him to go to another team in La Liga, as he has proven he can do it there.

What we need is for him to show it in the Premier League, I expected him to get a fair shot at United this season... obviously not... I don't know why because it's not like we have a wealth of attacking depth that is better than he.

But if we are going to loan him, at least do it for the best interst of his United career and make it to a PL club ffs.

The premier league is not the be and end all

1) He wanted to go to Valencia

2) Playing in Spain will improve him

3) It's not about "proving" or whatever **** cliche people want to use, it's about becoming a better player

4) You ever thought he might want to end up staying in Spain permanently?

That's presuming any PL club wanted him z. And at that, it would, if you've any sense, be an attacking footballing side where he'd flourish and continue to develop. And you'd need a guarantee of games. Just loaning him anywhere to get game time aids nobody. Loans have to be the right fit.

If he's not going to play, and is that far down the depth chart so to speak, but he will play in La Liga at a real fine football club where he'll be allowed to develop and play to his strengths, how can that be a bad thing?

At the least, it adds to his value if you then decide to sell him next summer.

Everytime I hear "proven in PL" I want to scream. Means **** all. Fellaini was proven in Prem, he was awful first season, and we turned down Thiago for him. Guess which midfielder we'd all rather have right now?!

So we're developing a great talent for a career destined for La Liga? That's exactly my worry.

This guy is a talent, we should be shaping him for United.

Why on earth would we be even considering the prospect of him being elsewhere permanently? If so, ****** sell him. (Although we never should be).

If he makes 30-40 appearances and plays anywhere near as well as he did for Granada, he's going to be an excellent player. We are trying to turn him into a deadly little deep playmaker. Spain and Valencia have a pretty good history of that.

And how does playing hoof ball at West Brom shape him for United?

He should of been given a shot at United first and foremost. What on earth could he do to get one this season based on his last loan move?

Our creative central midfield depth isn't great... Fellaini... Herrera...... it kind of ends there.

Think you're doing a big disservice to teams in PL.

What about Southampton? Watford under Marco Silva? Plenty of good footballing teams in the prem. He is better off in this league than La Liga, if he is going to make it at United anytime soon.

Personally I think this is just us kind of looking to sell him in a season or two. Annoyingly, I really think he could of offered us something here this season, competing with the fringes of our first team squad.

But if it's he who requested the loan, and you can't guarantee him first team football, what you gotta do?
