The Manchester United Thread

Never quite got the Ashley Young hate. It's a wide consensus across the fan base that they'd like to see him gone, but he does a good job in my eyes when on the pitch. Adds experience, HG, positional versatility, and well liked/respected within the camp

I really like him tbh. Offensively he's a much more dangerous right back than Valencia. He can cover anywhere

Well that was comfortable! Easy 3 points. More confidence. Great to have Young back in the squad. Lukaku CL debut goal and think Rashford has debut goal in every comp now. Solid at the back. Onto Everton :)

Can't ask for much more than that. Good CL debut from Lukaku; bullet header & lovely touch for the pre-assist for Rashford's. He has has areas to improve, no doubt, but his profile is the definition of a Complete Forward. Quick, strong, runs channels, links the play well (how exaggerated is his so called 'poor first touch' btw?), head, left foot, right foot - he's a nightmare. Not the finished article, granted, but he offers us a different dimension.

When was the last time we had a CF this well rounded? Prime Rooney?

So glad I managed to stay awake for that.
Brilliant performance by Fellaini. Have to give him his dues.

so now we are all waiting for news on pogba, surely will be 3-4 weeks if its a hamstring

If its tight about 2 if a tare 4 weeks.

Everton-h
Burton-h
Saints-a
CSKA-a
Palace-h
Pool-a
Huddelsfield-h

Next fixtures. Should be able to navigate that till he's back.

Put it this way, if we fall apart through not having Pogba for a few weeks then were really not good enough to win anything. Herrera can get a good few weeks in the team. Plus Jose seems to be getting the best out of Fellaini. Carrick can play every other week with Matic allowing Herrera to get further forward where he's a lot better IMO. Nothing to worry about.

Agree, should be able to grind results without Pogba. It's just that we'll lose a lot of creativity in midfield without Pogba. Herrera might be great on the ball but he's not the most creative guy, great at winning balls and tidy in possession.

Hoping for something like this

Swap Fellaini for Mky and keep Mata on the right or put Young on the right.

This will be a curse that will haunt me, but not been impressed by Everton at all this season, that 3 at the back system is just not suited for them imo.

so pogba out for up to six weeks, not good news and worse than i feared.Agree that we should be able to win games without him but obviously we would all rather have him fit

Nothings been confirmed yet mate the 6 weeks just started by the press guessing. Got a squad big enough to cope for that time even if true. Only Pool is a real tricky fixture in next six weeks.

absoultely bro thats why i said up to six weeks, mourinho confirming tomorrow apparently but a hamstring injury would suggest a month at least

And CSKA out there if you give them the chances you gave Basle Tuesday. They'll be a step up from them on their own patch and have already won out in Lisbon.
