We had a complete divvy Sat'day who even managed to mess up the minutes silence!

He blew and the whole ground goes quiet as he's stood there with the players. Then he blows again and everyone starts applauding, only to quickly realise this was the silence. Again.

Totally surreal. You seriously couldn't make this **** up.

Kind of apt justice given Benfica should have had a penalty seconds before the other end. (The poor Martial peno.).
 
Poor keeper, some of the worst things it can happen to you and both came against United.
 
How incredibly unlucky for Benfica and the young 'keeper again. Deserve to be level at the very least. But you don't often get what you deserve in this game and Utd are now sitting all but qualified HT.

I was about to say you need to replace the young lad midfield as the games completely passing him by but now I'd leave him out there for the experience. Bailey needs to settle too. He's been all over the show back there.
 
I missed first 15 or so, but McTominay definitely had a good game, imo. First ever European start? Did himself no harm. Kept it tidy, contributed some decent, progressive passes, and was sound in that deeper first half role.



I chuckled at the fact Scouse 'advising' (if you will) Jose to take off a young player lol. One of your beefs with Jose is the opposite :D

Boneheaded, lazy defending costs Benfica in a game they deserved far more.

Herrera has gave us control since coming. Good CL debut by McTominay. Another clean sheet. More mins for Bailly come no back from time out. Job done qualification. Martial MOTM.
 
Herrera definitely changed the game. I was really happy with McTominay, great first touch and movement. Improve his passing range and we might have a class player!
 
[FONT=&quot]2-0 in third gear having missed a penalty and duffed a few half chance. Benfica have tested de Gea a couple of times but the only time they really looked like equalising was when Bailly actually passed the ball to their striker. Not amazing, but so straightforward.[/FONT]
