Rangnick on Erik ten Hag: “I like his football. I'm pretty positive that with a full pre-season and having a chance to build and mould his own staff, and a new team especially, which is obvious, there will be improvement.” #MUFC

Rangnick laying into this lot 😁

Rangnick: “It’s obvious that there are quite a few players with expiring contracts and there might will be a few others who want to be on loan and players leaving the club permantly. So it will be a significant change and rebuild this summer, that’s clear.” #MUFC

Rangnick: “It’s not only three or four new players [needed in the summer], it’s obvious.

Which is utterly mad when the vitally important top 4 door, which nobody seems to want to shut, is still WIDE open.

How Wreck-It Ralph expects any sort of reaction to that end over the last 5 games by continually telling them they most all need to be replaced is a pretty novel approach. 🤷🏼‍♂️

If this lot couldn’t be motivated in a North west derby then not even Martin Luther king jr can get a reaction.

It should be LONG gone.

But with the two NL clubs being utterly *****, along with West Ham struggling squad wise to match-up a European and League season, it's still very much in play.

But regardless mate, let's say it hypothetically is and you're looking to next year ..... not everyone is going to be leaving this summer. Outside of the out-of-contract players, unless Utd swallow hefty loses, you're liable to struggle moving lads on ala recent windows. So to publicly, effectively tell them they are all utter ***** and not good enough to be at Utd, as true as that may be, isn't a sensible approach for the new manager to inherit when the squad has already downed tools on Rangnick and he'll still be involved at the club. Not least with his picking of the new man.

You tell me I'm ***** to the World, and a massive influx of new players is needed to replace me and y teammates, and then you have a massive hand in picking your replacement as manager, good luck thinking I'm going to sweat blood for the new fella'.

Seems an utterly mad way of man-managing people that Mourinho rightly got lashed out for.

Maguire’s next interview: “I’m pretty positive we’ll see a different manager”

But in reality, Maguire has the charisma of a digestive biscuit

Thread | Erik ten Hag's interview to @trouw, taken after the announcement of becoming the new Manchester United manager.

• Can you cope with stars? With the Ronaldo's of this world? Ten Hag: "I think I can, but I will stay myself in that. I won't change my vision. I will tell them their task and whoever does not meet those tasks will hear that from me, no matter who it is."

Ten Hag: "I make demands in advance before I arrive. If the club doesn't grant them I wouldn't take the job. I am the one responsible, I am the one who will get judged by results. I don't want to be a ruler, I will work together, but having a say in transfers is a big condition for me."

Embargoed.

Rangnick: "I mean, why should #mufc not be able to be as successful as those clubs [the likes of Liverpool & Man City] are now? It's not just the manager's quality. It's about changing all the other things that have brought the club into position as we are in right now." #mulive

Rangnick: "In a club like #mufc, it's difficult to tell people to be patient. It will take a little bit of time. But we just have to face the current situation." #mulive

Rangnick: "We lost on aggregate against Liverpool 9-0. We lost against Man City on aggregate 6-1. The team even lost against Watford 4-1 — this is just the sad reality that we have to face and just acknowledge, which will help #mufc in the future." #mulive

Rangnick: "We have an agreement on that consultancy role, but in the end, it's not a question of what has been written on paper or what has been agreed upon, it's about what will really happen in everyday life and, and in everyday's business." #mulive

Rangnick: "It's also important how Erik ten Hag sees that [his consultancy role]. Does he like to speak with somebody like myself? How close does he want to work together? And those are the things we haven't spoken about yet." #mulive

Rangnick: "It's not a question of having agreed upon a contract or whatever for the next two years - I'm 64 very soon so for me, it's about what will really happen and how much does Ten Hag and the board of #mufc really want to know my opinion and have my experience." #mulive

Rangnick: "Again, having seen Liverpool play against us, having seen what happened in other clubs and we also spoke about Arsenal's progress, why should this not be possible here?" #mulive

Rangnick: "This is one of the biggest clubs in the world, we have perfect training conditions, we have a fantastic stadium… We have massive fan support, probably the best fan support I've ever experienced apart from Schalke in Germany." #mulive

Rangnick: "I'm pretty convinced that he's [Ten Hag] the best possible coach that you can get right now. As I said earlier on, one of the very few good things is that it's crystal clear - you don't even need glasses to analyse and to see where the problems are here." #mulive

Rangnick on Erik ten Hag: "From all I heard from people who have worked with him, he's very communicative, carrying himself well, doing a lot of things himself. He obviously needs the assistance of the whole club, of all the people inside. I know he will get that." #mulive

Rangnick: "For me, the most vital part is the club manages to get in the right and best possible players, change the attitude and also the energy - I think we need positive energy for the new team. And this is also important for the new manager." #mulive

Rangnick: "If the right lessons are being learned from what has happened this season, this could be one of the few good things about a season like we are going through. At least we know which kind of screws we need to turn, things we need to change." #mulive

Rangnick: "To build how we want here you have to have top people and they have to work together in a very close and in a very reliable way." #mulive

Rangnick on United’s reconstruction: ‘For me it’s not enough to do some minor amendments, some little issues here and there and little cosmetic things. In medicine, you would say that this is an operation of the open heart.’ #mufc

Rangnick: "He [Pogba] won't be available for the game tomorrow and most likely not for the other four upcoming games. And as it seems he will not renew his contract. It's most likely that he won't be here anymore next season." #mulive
