Good pre season watch that. No one really had a bad game apart from maybe Embeumo who looks a little off the pace compared to other in the first 2 pre season games.

Was surprised how sharp we looked considering its early doors and Rosenberg are a good way in to there competitive season.

Been impressed by all the youngsters so far showing great skill. But more importantly hard work and commitment and not losing concentration at all.

Zirkzee and Mount been really really sharp first 2 matches. And Santos is showing his potential as a Casemiro replacement

Not that it matters a great deal but interested to see how we get on now the friendlies ramp up a bit against Atletico Madrid, PSG, Leeds.

Should be getting some more players back this week from the WC

Utd beat Atletico 2-1 and are crowned snap dragon trophy champions 😁😂

All jokes aside side. Considering it was a huge step up in quality. Only a friendly I know. But was super impressed especially the first 60mins. Atletico couldn’t get out there half pretty much. Except the one time they scored from a cross/shot.

We are definitely seeing a massive way the way we are going to press teams this season with a high flat four two four man for man system blocking all passing lanes out for the opposition. That’s been my biggest pick up so far from the first 3 games. Along with high tempo in passing and looking to control possession more.

On the player performances. Andrey Santos looks an absolute quality piece of buisness. Reads the game well, can pass through the lines in the build up from deep. And has great timing on his tackles. Just non stop machine. Can see why he’s tipped to replace Casemiro for both Utd and Brazil.

Yoro experiment at RB has looked good not as in an attacking sense but it gives Shaw or who will ever play at left back so much more freedom as we go to a back three in possession in attack. Arsenal/City used this well last season doing a similar thing.

Mounts looked very lively and dare I say fit slightly in front of Santos in there partnership keeping possession well and dictating tempo. With very good defensive work rate also.

Great to have Amad back. Was sensational the 45 first half mins he played. Touch, technique, movement, dribbling and endless tracking back when needed.

Hopefully these 2 gls from Embuemo gives him that boost now as he’s looked a bit sluggish the first 2 matches. Played as the str btw this match.

Out of the youngsters Shea Lacey impressed the most who played nearly most the match. Just oozes class either playing out wide right or 10. Like Amad just exceptional touch, control. Not the quickest player but can beat a man with his quick feet and movement. Got bought down and earned us a penalty with his quick feet.

All in all a dominant performance and PSG next.

Oh yeah great to see JJ Gabriel and Thwaites make there debut’s and get around 15 mins 😀

Hardly surprising when you consider the number of players sold so far in this window and the lack of investment to replace them. He was was always going to be a 'deadman walking' this season especially with the comments made by Ratcliffe regarding the women's team. Better for him to depart with his reputation intact than get sacked after a poor start to the season.
If that’s the reason then fair enough. We don’t spend enough on the women’s team imo. But we also don’t do as bad as recruiting as is made out.

Out of all the players that have left 5 in total 2 older players out of contract that hardly played due to injury. So no great loss there and have been replaced by very talented academy products.

Out of the players sold Malard is the only top class player to have left in attack. But then again we signed 2 top class attackers in January in preparation for this season anyway. Millie Turner lost her place as a starter due to the pile up of injury issues. So I guess she will need replacing with another squad player to cover at Cb. And Lisa Nausland asked to leave dus to black of game time which you can put down to Skinner religiously playing his faves regardless of form.

On incomings I expect more with 5/6 weeks of the window left as it’s opened later than the men’s. Still plenty of time. We have already signed one of the best young Spanish left in Europe in Medina on a free which was very astute buisness from Atletico Madrid. And we’ve signed a top class very good Back up GK as the drop off in Joyce in the squad was huge.

I understand his frustration on lack of spending compared to the rest but we are also still a very relative new club compared to the likes of the other top clubs in the WSL. And don’t have the finances to compete yet. Mostly down to women’s revenue being so low. And the majority of the focus going towards sorting the men’s team out first.

I’m not actually that bothered he’s left just more surprised at the timing. I think he’s took the side to the limits of his ability tbh. He has huge faults that also haven’t helped him. Most probably could have achieved more if he was willing to change his ways. And not rub players up the wrong way.
