At least the hard-working staff and players are getting pay.. Oh ****. ;)

Back in those days Rovers squad was pretty much made of electricians and plumbers!! XD

In 1990 they were division 3 champions. Maybe Argyle can go down that route and pick up the next Devon White!

I wouldn't mind some of those in the team. Plumbers to stop the leaks in our defence, and electricians to get some spark in our attack. Works for me ;)

Another good win for the Blades. Wycombe next hope our fans give that **** Gareth Ainsworth the treatment he deserves.

there's no southampton thread so :)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says he is indebted to his first club Southampton for giving him his break in football.

The 18-year-old rose through the ranks with the Saints from the tender age of seven before eventually breaking into the first team to make his professional debut aged just 16.

After an eye-catching campaign in League One with Nigel Adkins’ side he made the move to Emirates Stadium during the summer after impressing Arsène Wenger.

The young winger has thanked his former employers for transforming him into the exciting talent he is today.

“I owe them massively - I’d been at Southampton since I was seven,” he said. “They put so much hard work into me and the fans down there welcomed me into the first team so warmly.

“I couldn’t have asked for more, so I’ve got a lot of time for them and I hope to be able to play there again one day and show my appreciation. I’ll always have a place in my heart for them.”

Southampton have enjoyed a flying start to their Championship campaign after going up from League One last season and are already being tipped for a second consecutive promotion. Oxlade-Chamberlain would love to see his old friends in the top flight.

“One major factor down there is that it’s such a great group of lads - one of the hardest things about leaving was the boys,” he said. “Whoever comes in is welcomed straightaway, much like here at Arsenal.

“Everyone down there has been going for the same thing, and they’ve had that continuity - they haven’t had many players leaving or coming in, it’s still the tight group that was promoted last season, and I think the lift promotion gave them was massive.

“Things are looking good down at Southampton.”

Peter Ridsdale is set to leave Plymouth Argyle- You know what Peter...

GOOD RIDDENS. :)

Reminds me of the time on another forum when a Norwich fan posted a story of Sven lauding Grant Holt as a true old fashioned English centre forward and getting all excited at such a reference, needless to say I had a lot of fun mocking him for that one.

when did Doncaster sack thier Manager!? just saw they replaced him.

They narrowly avoided relegation last season, and have made a poor start to this season and find themselves bottom. Football being a results business, this makes sense.

what day was he sacked? :)

Gutted Saunders has gone, but good luck to him and Doncaster.

Although Doncaster fans be prepared for delusion and over-exaggeration..

In that case does the sacking of Reid make sense on that basis, even if there our other factors that make it harsh?

Because Reid has the resources and squad that Sean O'Driscoll had available to him? I thought not.

This is the biggest buzz I've had for Argyle in a long time. There seems to be a real surge of optisim, with Ridsdale leaving, the takeover almost done- The fans feel united with the club, hand in hand if you like. Even Peter Reid has sent his message of support, I just have a feeling this could be our day. The turning point, lets be honest the only way is up. I'll look an idiot if we lose today, but this could be start of something special.

Looking forward to going to upton park today to see West ham V peterborough. One player I am looking forward to seeing play live is George Boyd. My mate who goes to alot of Stevenage games has told me alot about Boyd from when he played for Stevenage and he sounds like a good player.
