feel for you man

I do really feel for you Stockport fans. As I remember you were a decent league one team, around mid table. You then went into administration (why was that exactly) and then had to sell your good players and now you are staring at non-league football. I do feel for you

Yeah we were flying in League One, I remember when we played you at EP and we lost 3-2 and in my opinion we deserved too win, and now look at us. :'(

And I don't really know why we went into admin, and I'm pretty sure alot of people don't either as the season we went into admin, the previous season we did get alot of money, we won promotion to League One from League Two, so the attendances we're 8,000+ also we got money from the play-offs as we were on Sky, not to mention we won the play-offs from Wembley, so all this earned us alot of money, also we sold Liam Dickinson for £1million, and we didn't buy many people that season, also we got sponsored by Diadora aswell, which was a pretty big sponsor for us.

And then coming to the end of that season we got told we entered administration, and I can't really remember the reasons, maybe the owners didn't have the money they thought they did, I can't remember to be honest. Then Jim Gannon got made redundant, that day the County fans went to Edgeley Park to wish our best to him and to know what was going on, in which we found out alot of our staff got made redundant, so we ended up doing a protest march to Manchester.

Anyway, we got relegated 2 seasons ago as we simply couldn't compete in League One as we lost our best players so some of our reserves had to step up, and we just went down without fight.

Then this summer we FINALLY got taken over by local businessmen, and it's fair to say they're not that rich so after Paul Simpson was appointed he couldn't bring in good players, which doesn't provide an excuse for signing Barry Conlon and Mark Lynch, and he didn't work out as a manager.

And Boom, look at us now. We're a cursed team and we're off to the Premier League...Blue Square Premier League. :'(

We're Rovers supporters, We're faithful and true,
We always follow, The boys in blue
We all made a promise, That we'll never part,
So Goodnight Irene, Goodnight Irene, I'll see you in my dreams...

Irene Goodnight Irene,
Irene Goodnight,
Goodnight Irene, Goodnight Irene,
I'll see you in my dreams

3 points are vital tonight. But knowing Rovers we'll probably concede 10!

What is the meaning of that chant? "Goodnight Irene"?

There are a number of terrace "myths" as to why we sing it. But the most accurate and popular one is we were playing Plymouth 60 years ago in the F.A Cup. Rovers went 2 - 0 down and the Plymouth fans started singing Goodnight Irene to mock the Rovers fans. Rovers fans thought this was amusing and joined in with the Plymouth fans. This then appeared to have a morale boosting effect on Rovers as we banged in 3 goals in 10 minutes. Rovers won the match 3 - 2. Rovers changed the lyrics to "Goodnight Argyle". The song stuck and has been sung for over 60 years.

Well, Walsall are on the up! :D
Dean Smith is a legend! The great escape is well and truly on! Up the Saddlers!

Yeah, me and my mate might be on it. :S

My mate went: "My names Jay, I support Stockport, am pretty loyal" When he's not that loyal..

And I went "I'm Sam, I support Stockport County, errmmmm, I dunno what to say now - *asks woman what to say*

I am a *******.

And guess what I've found!

The fecking video of it!

Good feeling about this today. Hopefully another passing performance- We've really improved with the ball since Reid has took over. Not such a hard team Tranmere, but this is League 1 and we have to be on-guard. If we do a goal down, I hope Timar is thrown on up front and Stephens comes on for Patterson.. Fortune favours the brave.

That's awful :( If we hadn't of gotten rid of Keane he probably would have gave you £1million for Fallon :P

Dear Mr Geoff Dunceford - This is what happens when you obliterate our playing budget. You have bent my club over backwards and ****** us over for the last time. Either do the semi-honorable thing and leave or be forced out by the fans who have had enough of you squeezing our beloved club dry.

Goodnight Irene.....

It may not be the nPower football league... but could effect who goes into it - CRAWLEY 0-2 WREXHAM!!!!!!!

****** **** it's close at the top of the Championship! Well played Leeds 2-0 away, Snodgrass played great as usual. Rode our luck a bit with Becchio clearing an effort off the line and they hit the woodwork twice from 1 corner but overalll I'd say that we deserved to win. Rage at Reading letting Norwich have a 94th min winner and Middlesborough for giving away a 3-1 lead against Swansea to end up losing 4-3, also giving up a 94th min winner. Oh well can't have it all our way! MOT!!
