The Peter Crouch to my Harry Redknapp - The Story of Semaj Namdear

Great start James. You should create an album on the forums. Easier access to your screenshots?

True, think it looks a bit more untidy, but have edited all of the above.

Thanks for the comments, should get another update in tonight, maybe two depending on demand. Hope people are actually reading not skimming :D

Loving the idea Redders, and don't worry - I am reading and not skimming :)

Thanks guys. Here is another update, I understand my last one might have been a big big but I have actually played the majority of the season and written most of it up...so I am catching myself up.

Marske United 1 – 0 North Shields

Billy Gruelich started in place of Cook today as Marske United won 1-0 against 17th placed North Shields. Rowell opened the scoring after just 9 minutes, being on the end of a nice pass by Rowe and slotting the ball into the bottom corner from 15 yards.

Readmans men now sit at the top of the table having won 4 out of 4, scoring 6 and conceding 0 in the process.

*Marske United have been drawn against Sussex side Little Common in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase.

*Marske United have been drawn against Sunderland Ryhope CA in the Northern League Brooks Mileson Cup first round.

Marske suffer first defeat of the season

Marske United suffered a humiliating defeat today as Darlington RA crushed them 4-1 at Brinkburn road. Darlington forward Julian Crowe opened the scoring after just six minutes as Marske conceded for the first time this season.

An equaliser came immediately as Roger Goodall started and finished a move with a strike from just outside the box on 8 minutes.

However, two goals in two minutes stunned Marske as a dubious goal from Lee Elwell and the second goal of the game for Julian Crowe gave Darlington a 3-1 lead at half time.

The rout was complete after 64 minutes as midfielder Paul Ward scored Darlington’s fourth goal with an emphatic strike.

The defeat sees Marske slip to 3rd in the league behind Washington and Seaham in 1st and 2nd respectively.

Marske draw blank in FA Vase & Bow out of Mileson cup

Marske United and Little Common played out a bore draw at Mount Pleasant today in the FA Vase second qualifying round. The replay will be held in a weeks’ time.

Paddy Little scored a hat-trick for Sunderland Ryhope CA today as they thrashed Marske United at Mount Pleasant. 28 year old Andrew Thomas managed a consolation goal for Marske with a thunderous header from a set piece. Fans will be hoping that their recent poor form will be halted in the replay on Saturday.

Marske’s dismal form continues

Marske United were today dumped out of the FA Vase after a shocking display in a 2-0 defeat to Little Common. Readman was reported to have reacted angrily to the performance and there are sure to be changes before the league game v Whickham.

Marske United 2 – 1 Whickham

Readman reverted back to as close as possible to the team that defeated Newton Aycliffe 2-0 earlier in the season. Kevin Cook was back upfront accompanied in an attacking quartet with Foster, Phillips and Rowe.

An early injury to young CB Vince stunned Readman, but Marske took the lead just before the half time whistle through Roger Goodall.

In the second half Marske looked to have the upper hand as Whickham player Sean Swayne was sent off after 54 minutes. However, with 15 minutes left Whickham striker Bob Cates latched onto a long ball to blast the ball past the United GK.

However, there was an extra twist when in stoppage time the recalled Gary White struck to hand Marske United all three points. The result leaves Marske in 4th place, three points off the top with a game in hand.

After the match it was confirmed that Jim Vince had twisted a knee during the match and will be out of action for around 4 weeks.

*Marske will play Hebburn in the 2nd round of the Ernest Armstrong Memorial cup; the tie will be played at Mount Pleasant on the 17th of November.

Great idea, absolutely top notch. And good layout also, I am reading and good luck lad I am deffo following!

Finally, someone who puts effort into their stories. The youtube videos put the icing on the cake for me. I will be following :) I hope you encourage more members to use videos, but could you do them at a lower pace? Its hard to watch the players at such speed. But then again, a quick story is a good one :)

Yes I have realised the videos are a bit quick/poor quality. I will slow them down but it will have to be from the start of the next season as I have just finished writing up the rest of the season, may even crack another update out tonight.

Thanks for the comments.

Whitehaven 1 – 1 Marske United

Readman made one change from the side that beat Whickham, with the injured Jim Vince replaced by Andrew Thomas. It was Whitehaven that took the lead with through winger Stuart Chapman, scoring his first goal of the season after 15 minutes, with the scoreline staying at 1-0 until after HT.

In the second half Roger Goodall struck again from outside the box to level the score. Whitehaven were reduced to 10 men in stoppage time but Marske didn’t have the time to capitalise.

The result doesn’t change Marske’s league position as they remain in 4th place, three points off the top with a game in hand over league leaders Jarrow.

*In other news, loan signing Shaun Saiko has returned to full training following 8 weeks on the sidelines.

Marske United 3 - 0 Sunderland Ryhope CA

Readman again named an unchanged lineup for this league game against the team that knocked Marske out of the cup, Sunderland Ryhope CA. The lineup paid off after 4 minutes as Marske went ahead through Rowell, the midfielder on loan from Hartlepool getting his second goal of the season.

The lead was doubled after only minutes when a Meylers persistence and beautiful pass gifted Rowell his second goal of the game, the first brace by a Marske player so far this season. United went in at the break 2-0 up, and returned to the pitch unchanged.

The game was put beyond doubt after 71minutes when that man Rowell popped up with a wonderful strike to get his own, and Marske’s third goal of the game. At this point Readman brought on Cook for the ineffective Billy Greulich, however the changes made little difference as the game whittled out and Marske fans celebrated the three points.

Marske United 1 – 1 Thornaby

Marske United went behind early in the game before on loan David Meyler equalised after 20minutes. The game was unexciting and highlighted the need for Marske to invest in some quality attacking players.

It was also reported after the match that Readman had decided enough was enough with loan striker Billy Greulich whose 7 games without scoring were deemed pathetic. He has now left the club to return to Hartlepool.

After 8 games Marske sit in third place in D2, 2 points behind table toppers Jarrow.

Stokesley 0 – 0 Marske United & Marske United 0 – 0 Guisborough

Two more bore draw for Marske United away at Stokesley and at home to fierce rivals Guisborough, which again highlighted the need for a goal-scorer.

*After the Guisborough game Readman confirmed that Hartlepool striker Matty Tymon would be joining the Seasiders till the end of the season. He hopes this will add some much needed goals to the team.

*It was also confirmed that Marske’s run of six games unbeaten in D2 was a new Marske record.

Semaj Update

In other news, Semaj Namdear made a stunning comeback from injury as his hat-trick sealed a 3-0 win for Port Vale against league 2 rivals Bury.

picture.php

However, Semaj has now gone 6 games without scoring, but despite this he is now valued at £35k. Port Vale sit in 13th place in league 2.

Semaj seems to be doing well and you also seem to be doing well.

I'm guessing you're just saving the matches fro FM into the 'games' folder and then uploading to youtube?

Birtley 0 – 2 Marske United

Marske United visited bottom of the table Birtley just in time as they looked for some confidence and goals; they got both!

A penalty in the first minute allowed Marske to take the lead, it was converted by Meyler.

Ben Jones then scored his first goal of the season to seal the win for Marske.

It’s the Seasiders 1st win in four games and is hopefully the start of a good run of form.

Northallerton 1 – 0 Marske United

Marske United 3 – 2 Hebburn

Marske United lost the lead then regained it in this match as they progressed to the quarter final of the memorial cup.

Jonny Rowell opened the scoring with his 5th goal of the season after 14 minutes, but it was cancelled out by a Jon Williams penalty just 4 minutes later.

Alan King put Hebburn ahead before half time as it looked like Marske’s lack of cutting edge in the final third would hamper their efforts again.

However, Matty Tymon came off the bench at half time replacing Ben Jones and it took him just 10 minutes to turn the game around. His first goal on 52 minutes was a tidy finish from a through ball as he beat the offside trap. His second just 3 minutes later was another great finish.

Is Tymon the man to get the goals for Marske? James Readman certainly hopes so.

*Marske will face Crook in the QF of the competition.

Marske United top the pack

Marske United 2 – 0 Seaham

Marske United today outclassed top of the league Seaham to move two points clear from the pack.

It took just over an hour for Marske to score from the most unlikely of sources, a fine close header from Shaun Saiko. Midfielder Jonny Rowell completed the victory ten minutes later with a trademark long shot.

Marske out of Senior Riding Cup

Marske United were today knocked out of the North Senior Riding cup after a 1-0 defeat to Nunthorpe Athletic. A disappointing and somewhat embarrassing result but one that James Readman wasn’t particularly bothered about.

Marske repeat Hebburn result

Fan’s left Mount Pleasant pleased today despite a late scare. The Seasiders went 3 goals up by HT, after two goals from Matty Tymon and a long range effort from Ryan Goodall.

However, after the break Hebburn started to come back into it and young striker Andy Wynne pulled one back before centre back Howard Adams made it 3-2 on 90 minutes.

Has Semaj's strength gone up a bit? Don't remember it being 16 or maybe that's me being blind.

I see Semaj has been capped by New Zealand, which is rather good, but probably doesn't help your chances of signing him soon.
