Looks like East Stirlingshire is Rangers bogey team then ;)

That's a couple of people said that they have been taken over at the start of the season. Hope it doesn't happy in my save as the club is very stable at the moment.

What looked to be a comfortable cup tie against Dundee, up three nil at half time, almost turned into a disaster as Dundee pulled it back in the second half. Also struggled to overcome them in the replay with a narrow one nil win in Dundee. Once again though after a poor display we went on to smash the next few opponents with a seven goal win against Queen's Park a highlight. Drawn against Dunfermline at home in the Scottish Cup 5th round.

January Transfer Window

This is were it gets challenging. The club is now under a one year transfer embargo which means I need to try and keep this squad together as much as I can which is proving difficult as nearly every one of my first eleven has been bid for.

I have five of the first team squad out of contract at the end of the season :

Scott Gallacher - Happy to let go.

Grant Adam - No contract will be offered.

Carlos Bocenegra - Contract offered but he is unwilling to stay.

Andy Little - Been disappointing so far so will not be offering a contract at the moment but will re-evalulate at the end of the season.

Kal Naismith - Contract offered but also considering one from Morecambe.

Unfortunately Bocanegra has accepted an offer from Newcastle. Understandable but he will now spend the rest of the season in the reserves with Perry stepping up into the first team. Naismith rejected our offer and will go to Morecrambe at the end of the season. This one I can't understand and I'm really disappointed to lose a young player who was showing signs of being a quality player. He is also dropped to the reserves. Maurice Edu started to complain about getting regular first team football. Rather than have him disrupting the harmony at the club I have decided to cash in on him receiving £925k from Al-Gharrafa.

As I am now short for cover in the left back position and in the centre of midfield both Robbie McIntyre and Charlie Telfer have been promoted from the youth team.

A great run of games concluding with winning the league title away to Elgin City. A fantastic achievement to win the league with twelve games still to go! Another good result in the cup takes us on to Queen of the South at home in the quarter final of the Scottish cup. With the title in the bag this will allow me to give some game time to the fringe players in the squad and give some of the young players some much needed experience.

Was fearing the worst in the cup game against Queen of the South when we went in at half time two nil down. However a great second half saw us seal a three two victory and a semi final draw against Kilmarnock.

With Celtic already out of the cup I was convinced I could at least get to the final to play Motherwell at Hampden. Unfortunately Kilmarnock got their revenge after we hammered them in the League Cup 2nd Round. To be honest we were lucky to actually take the game to extra time as Kilmarnock were the better side throughout the game. Biggest positive of the month was Tsoumou's goal tally. The youngster looks like a good bit of business and will now be in contention for a regular first team place next season.

End of Season Summary

My first season is over and as expected I dominated the league and easily won the Challenge Cup. Two great runs in the other two cups with some SPL club scalps proves that this team should be able to cut it in the SPL when the time comes. With the transfer embargo still in place I hope to keep as much of this squad together as possible over the pre season.

Signings

Andrew Halliday - Great signing with a fantastic return of twenty two goals in forty four appearances. Would love to keep him however his loan deal will finish at the end of the season and with the embargo I cannot re-negotiate this.

Juvhel Tsoumou - Proving to be a great piece of business considering he was brought in on a free transfer. Thirty goals in twenty five appearances shows the lad's potential.

Top Performers

Dorin Goian - Fifty one appearances and an average rating of 7.57. One of the main reasons we only conceded eight league goals all season.

Lee Wallace - With a 7.90 average rating from forty one appearances Lee is one of the best players at the club and a very valuable asset.

Robbie McIntyre - showed tremendous potential at the end of the season averaging 7.60 in the eleven games he played.

Ian Black - an average rating of 7.92. Part of the core of the side.

Barrie McKay - Youngster with great potential. Initially brought into the squad as cover, he soon cemented a regular first team place with seventeen goals in twenty five appearances.

Francisco Sandaza - What more can I say than fifty eight goals in thirty three appearances with an average rating of 8.41? The key player in the squad.

Ah well, there's always next season ;) . Still great that you won the league 12 games remaining!

No just this one at the moment. By the time it's finished FM13 will be out so might start another story once I've got to grips with that.

just a quick thanks or checking out my story pal. I hope your 2nd season goes well. Mine as started pretty good. I have reviewed my 1st season on my thread. So again check it out if u like. On another subject how awesome does FM 13 look. Cannae wait to play it.

Transfers

With the transfer embargo still in place I have been unable to add to the squad. As the squad is so thin at the moment I've had to look to the reserves for some back up.

In -Alan Smith (GK), Chris Hegarty (DC) and Charlie Telfer (MC) all promoted from reserves.

Out - Adam Grant & Scott Gallacher both released.

Kirk Broadfoot sold for £150k to Crystal Palace.

Disappointed to lose Broadfoot but as all transfers were being handled by receivers I was unable to block this in time.
