My current Newcastle team (2019-2020) which has won the league six of the last seven years. Majority of the starters have been on the team for the last six years too since they all got like 150-200 games in for my team. Salaries are at 1.88 million too. I run a 4-1-2-1-2, and yes I don't use the sexy tactic or whatever it is. I used it and my team either couldn't score or if they did would allow 5 goals. Maybe its cause I used this same formation the whole time with Newcastle and it was just too hard to change. Plus why would I when I have all this success with the formation I used all this time.
Goalkeepers:
Got Delac from Chelsea for like 4 million about 4 years ago. Chelsea was on a slide after a firing their coach and with the turmoil I got him and basically never looked back. Plus going into this year was afriad I would have to let him go since he was up for a contract. Didn't happened since he wanted a 45,000 reduced salary to stay with the team. Backup (Manual) is great and came through the youth system, or well from the 2 games he played when Delac was injured last year and won both games and didn't conceded a goal.
Wing backs:
Finally got four players who can play this position cause it seems this is the main position where I always have injuries. Kind of got lucky too going into the new year. Was going to look for someone (since I had 3 on roster), but saved money when I got a 16 year old through youth system, James Naylor, who is now on the senior squad. Aurier is the best and has played over 150 games for the team, and Crawford who could play at better positions is the other starter here until Naylor hits 18 then will probably go to a different position.
Centerbacks:
Three years ago had three great defenders, but got rid of one since my salaries were around 2.8 million and was losing around 10 million a month. Got them under 2 million since then and of course kept Ivan. Sure he is making 350K a week (and only person over 200K on my team now). One if not the best defender in my game. Wins every award and is always on top XI teams. His counter partner Jones was the best defender in England before Ivan came to Newcastle. Between these two they have shut down opposing teams. In the last 5 years only once (last year of course) have Newcastle given up more than 20 goals in the league. It was 29 last year and that was with both of them missing around a month too.
Defensive Midfielder:
Its a rotation committee between three people. Sadly these are the only people who also play multiple positions. Since I don't have a bunch of centerbacks, although they never get tired, if someone goes down with an injury either Vincenzo Brescia is the first choice. If he is tired then its old man Eyjolfsson and ex captain who started out on the team playing centerback before Ivan came to the team. Also Gibson also plays in the midfield since he is the third option for this position and also plays in the smaller cups or smaller teams in the bigger cups.
Midfielders:

Sahin and Murillo are amazing. Would love to play them every game, but since my team does have depth I am usually in a lot of tournaments and a bunch of games as I sometimes tie in cups which lead to a rematch game. With that there stamina isn't the best overall and usually after 2 games they are in the 80's. It's okay cause George (who I got from philly for 5 million 2 years ago through a partnership with them) and youth product Kenyon aren't as great, but come in and still don't miss a beat for my team.

I was very happy with Fleck and Snodgrass for the past like seven years or however long I had them. Problem is that Snodgrass is getting old now and needed to find someone else. This was the only hole I had and the one guy I really wanted just recently signed with a new team so I couldn't get him (offered 55 million which would of been the highest transfer fee for this team). I kind of just got Sola to drop in my lap since he was on the transfer list so only got him for 3.4 million while Chelsea and Liverpool offer contracts to him as well.

I don't even know where to start. Got Van Der Meulen like seven years ago for 25 million and basically has been an unstoppable force in the EPL and is the reason why I dominate the Champs league as well. If people try to worry about him I have Ale who is basically the same person as him and picked up him for 40 million (highest transfer fee for team) 3 years ago. Hernandez was a guy I picked up just for two years after selling Batotelli back to Man City. He was suppose to be just a rotation person but has filled in nicely so when his contract was up I resigned him to another 2 year contract. His Mexican counterpart on the national squad (and yes Mexico is ranked #1 in the rankings) I picked up last year before breaking out in the World Cup for just 5 million.
