January was my favourite month as manager so far, we had some great results and it was also the month of the transfer window. I found that really exciting because everyone was rushing about because there was a lot less time for teams to sign players than there was in the summer. I think the club made some great signings and the players have already began to prove themselves.

In the first game of the month we were up against Barnsley in the F.A Cup. In this match (Wayne) Rooney, (David) Beckham and (Landon) Donovan were all given their debuts for the club. The match suprisingly ended 2-2. Giorgio Chiellini gave us the lead after 9 minutes from a corner by Beckham, but then Barnsley bounced back to get a goal in the 37th minute through Iain Hume. Edin Dzeko then yet again scored and made it 2-1 in the 79th minute. Unfortunately we let that lead slip away after Hugo Colace scored in the 86th minute to equalise. That meant the match ended 2-2 and it means we would have to face Barnsley in a replay later in the month.

We then had to play Charlton in Carling Cup Semi-Final first leg at home. We were shockingly the only team from the Premier League left in the competition. The teams left were us, Charlton, Middlesborough and Norwich. This meant that we were now favourites to win and the pressure was piling on me. Two of the few players I signed in January got their debuts in this match, Xavi and Darijo Srna. Darijo Srna got his debut off to a brilliant start as he brilliantly set up a goal for Luka Modric in the 10th minute. Then in the 38th minute we progressed on our lead as yet again Edin Dzeko scored to make it 2-0. Throughout the second half Edin (Dzeko) was looking for a second goal and kept getting close and he eventually got it in the 84th minute. The match finished 3-0 and this meant that we would have a good lead when we were going to play them away later in the month.

Shortly after that game quite a few players were given the go to talk to teams about joining when their current contract expires. So, the first thing I did was take a look at the players available and their was some good quality players that would be good to sign for the club. I took interest in these players and eventually secured their contract for when their current one expires. Those players were Jesus Navas, Joe Cole, Rafael Marquez and Ledley King.

Our next game was the F.A Cup Replay against Barnsley, it was important the lads won this match or I could have got the sack. Luckily they did win and they won 3-1. The first goal came from Xavi who got his first goal in a City shirt in the 7th minute, soon after that in the 12th minute Rooney got his first goal in a City shirt to make it 2-0. Sneijder then made it 3-0 in the 45th minute. We then dominated the second half but unfortunately didn't get a goal but Barnsley did. They scored a penalty after Kolo Toure fouled Bogdanovic in the 79th minute and then Bogdanovic took the penalty. The final whistle blew and it meant that we would be playing West Brom in the fourth round.

Our next game was the first Premier League game of the month. We were up against Fulham. They took the lead in the 17th minute through Clint Dempsey and then made it 2-0 in the 36th minute. I went into the dressing room at half time and gave the best team talk I had ever given and yet still in the back of my mind I didn't think we could come back. We had a small bit of hope as Edin Dzeko scored in the 54th minute. Then Rooney equalised in the 76th minute. I was very happy as we had gone from being 2-0 down to 2-2. But, then in the 90th minute I became ecstatic as Edin Dzeko scored and made it 3-2 and then just a minute after the whistle blew and we had won. I was over the moon.

We then had to play Aston Villa in the Premier League. Xavi got the first goal of the match in the 31st minute and then on his debut Connor Wickham made it 2-0 in the 51st minute. Gabriel Ablongahor then snatched a goal back for Villa as he made it 2-1 in the 79th minute but then Edin Dzeko basically said "Oh no you don't" as he made it 3-1 in the 85th minute.

We then faced Charlton away in the second leg of the Carling Cup Semi-Final. If we wanted a place in the final at Wembley we had to make sure Charlton did not win and thankfully we didn't. The match ended as a 1-1 draw but on aggerate, 3-1. Charlton took the lead in the 29th minute through Dean Burton and then Edin Dzeko got the equaliser just after in the 35th minute. Throughout the match Charlton were having chances and we were having chances and the clock was ticking down any faster. I was so nervous, untill the whistle blew and I realised we were in the final. I had led Manchester City to their first final since the big money takeover. It was fantastic. It meant that we would have to play Middlesborough in the final. Easy win.

The next match was the F.A Cup Fourth Round match against West Brom. The match finished 2-1 with goals from Wayne Rooney in the 47th minute, Jonas Olsson in the 65th minute and then Franck Ribery gave us the win in the 66th minute. Just a minute's difference between a draw and a win.

We then face Portsmouth in what should have been a win but the match finished a boring 0-0. We played well but not as well as we could have done. Edin Dzeko had plenty of chances but the keeper was just to good.

Then we were to play Hull City, the scoring was opened by Luis Suarez as he scored in the 36th minute. It was an amazing goal, Xavi crossed it in to Suarez and he hit it on the left foot. A brilliant volley. Luka Modric then made it 2-0 in the 84th minute. Yet another win for the team and yet another win for me.

This month was great for me as I finished Manager of the Month, it was obviously because of the great results we had this month. I was extremely happy with the lads.

Manager's Player of the Month

The award yet again goes to Edin Dzeko as he is currently on top form and is smashing in all the goals for the club.

Sorry about the Zinedine Zidane picture as Manager of the Month isn't very good. Tried doing it myself and I really am not a graphics expert, LOL. Also when the Carling Cup final comes I'm probably going to do an individual update for it, what do you think??

The Zidane thing looks good!

Nice story, I saw this when the OP was written, and have now read it through.
Its quite good.

Hi followers :) Sorry about there not being an update in a while but I have been busy with GCSE stuff :/ However, there shall be an update tonight :)

Although, on the sad side of things Clark_Messi has had to resign as assistant manager due to personal reasons and he won't be coming on the site as often :/ If you are interested in the job PM me, if I don't recieve any sutiable people for the job then I will have to try and cope without an assistant manager :/

Thanks for still reading guys :)

Also, any suggestions for buys/sells in the next transfer window?? If you would like the whole squad so you can give me some suggestions, PM me. :)

This month saw dip in the form from the club and I was not suprised by this at all. We had many top players injured at different times throughout this month and we had the pressure of the Carling Cup Final approaching...

The month was opened with a trip to Anfield. The match took a while to get flowing and for someone to score the first goal. The man who scored that first goal was Torres who put one home in the 64th minute against his former club. I was happy with Fernando as he did not celebrate alot once he had scored, it's called having respect Adebayor... However, Liverpool scored and they scored through counter attacking, the equaliser came in the 65th minute through Ryan Babel. That resulted in the match ending 1-1 which I was happy with as we were without some top players and Anfield is always a difficult ground to play at.

The next match was a disapointing one, it was against Bolton and the result was 0-0. This match was infact, quite boring as neither side were able to get past each other defence. However, Edin Dzeko did walk home as Man of the Match, which shows he did put on his best.

We then had an FA Cup match on our hands, we were in the 5th Round and we were up against Fulham, at Craven Cottage. This match finished 1-0 to The Citizens. Torres opened the scoring in the 23rd minute through a cheeky chip over Mark Schwarzer. This meant that we were through to the Quarter Finals and it was later revealed that we would be up against Blackpool.

The next game of the month ended our 13 game unbeaten run, Blackburn Rovers beat us 1-0 as I played a weakened team to make sure everyone was fit for the Carling Cup Final. The goal was scored by Christopher Samba in the 37th minute and to be honest it was an easy goal. Just a tap in.

We then played Burnley and unsuprisingly lost 2-1 as I wasn't playing anyone who I would have liked to play in the Carling Cup Final. Rooney opened the scoring the 28th minute and he wouldn't have been playing but he was cup tied and couldn't play in the final anyway. Robbie Blake then equalised for Burnley, scoring in the 58th minute. Chris Eagles then won the match for them by scoring the 68th minute.

The next match was the Carling Cup Final...

Team Review of the Month: Man City

Manchester City had an unusual month as they won just one fixture. They opened their month with a 1-1 draw at Anfield, with Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres getting on the scoresheet.Man City played the price of playing a second string side as their team slumped to a 1-0 loss at Blackburn Rovers.Their poor run of form continued as Wayne Rooney's goal wasn't enough to win the match against Burnley which ended in a 2-1 loss.Man City got a win in the oldest cup competition in history as they beat Fulham by 1 goal to nil in the 5th round of the FA Cup.Fernando Torres' chip over Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer was the highlight of that match.

FourFourTwo got an up close and personal interview with manager Zinedine Zidane as he shared his thoughts over the team's performance in the month.

Zidane.jpg

FourFourTwo: Mr Zidane, your team haven't performed to expectations this month, not winning a single league game.
Zidane: Yes I know,I won't blame anyone for this because this is football and anything can happen
FourFourTwo: You played a weakened side against Blackburn and Burnley. Was your objective resting the key players for the Carling Cup Final?
Zidane: Yeah,I wanted to ensure no injuries to any of our best players as they would be crucial to help us win the Cup.
FourFourTwo: Though this may not be the best of months for you,who do you think was the "Player of the Month" from your side?
Zidane: I must say,it has to be Fernando(Torres). He was in good form, scoring goals when we needed them marked by a sublime chip against Fulham

You actually get 80 Mn. pounds I think. :P
Yeah, I will be following. I wanna see what do you buy for that sum of money. :)

I know im gonna get flamed for this but after reading through 5 pages of this story I have to call some cheating here, the prices of some players are ridiculous for FM. They are little over their value and in FM it can take almost double players values to get them so im sorry but i think there has been some fixing here.

I knew eventually someone would say this but I have to be honest and say it is not fixed. I was really suprised when I realised how cheap the fees being accepted were. I even showed the proof of the transfers I made.

Manchester City Announce Carling Cup Final Special Edition Kit
Today Manchester City announced the kit that the players will be wearing this weekend during the Carling Cup final. They were made by us, Adidas, and had some distinct features to their normal kits this season. The designers at Adidas have decided to go back to the original Man City badge to add a bit of a retro style to the kit. Manchester City have also agreed a deal with Abu Dhabi TV to become the clubs sponsor for the final. The kit has also gone away from being fully plain like most of the other Manchester City kits and has added quite a lot of white to the kit. Hopefully our kit can lead our great partners to Carling Cup glory!

The transfers you showed were a picture of transfers from football manager handheld, the Psp version of FM in which players are cheap. So either you are playing on the PSP (for which their is a specific thread) or you have cheated.

Waait, isnt Victor Moses a Wigan player, if so then why does it say Crystal Palace on the screenshot?

Cause I wasn't using an update and I just bought him from Palace and wrote Wigan anyway this story is closing soon
