Yeovil Town 1 - 0 Southend United Alcock
Only goal of the game scored by the promising full back Craig Alcock, but what a goal! Skinning two players and riding a strong tackle from the Southend centre back on an inspired run, before confidentaly slotting ii home in a way that most strikers only wish they could do! Terrell Forbes and Mamadou Seck were completely dominant in defence restricting Southend to only having 3 shots on target. MotM - Craig Alcock
Torquay United 0 - 3 Yeovil Town Murray, Welsh, Seck A dominant display by the Glovers. Mamadou Seck with his first goal for the club, a towering header from a corner to seal the win and knock Torquay out of the running. Good to see Murray bounce back with a great performance, especially after his dismal display at Wycombe. Andy Welsh again proving that he is one of the best in League 1 with an assist and a goal. MotM - Andy Welsh
MK Dons 1 - 3 Yeovil Town Wilbraham - Pericard, Mensing, Seck What a fantastic win on the road against a strong MK Dons team who were on a 5 game unbeaten run before facing the Glovers. They were throughly out played. Two highlights of the match were Simon Mensing's goal. A trademark rocket shot from 20 yards and Wilbraham capitalising on a rare mistake from Forbes to chip McCarthy, a lovely finish. Seck also showed that he is a real threat from corners scoring his second in two games. Not bad for a centre back! MotM - Mamadou Seck
Yeovil Town 1 - 1 Brighton & Hove Albion Senicanin - Forster What a way to score your first goal! He may never score a more important one than that! Luka Senicanin scoring in the 83rd minute to hold the run away league leaders to a draw. He broke the offside trap from Mensing's header back towards the Brighton 16 yard box and slid it past the dispairing Brighton keeper. Mamadou Seck having another good game making some wonderful tackles, however Pericard was bitterly disappointing having his worst game of the season. Scott Murray was injuried which was a big blow, I have no decent cover for him so fan favourite Andy Lindegaard must step in, however in my opinion, he is not cut out for this level of football. MotM - Nicky Forster
Walsall 1 - 1 Yeovil Town Deeney - Seck Got a Walsall back lash after thier 3-1 defeat at the hands of Exeter. Deeney was very dangerous and at times Seck and Forbes couldn't handle him, the defence did brilliantly to restrict them to 1 goal. Seck stole the point for his team in the 86th minute with another headed goal. Thats 3 goals in 4 games!!! Who does he think he is? Gerard Pique!? Great to see that we are just as dangerous from set pieces as we are in open play. MotM - Troy Deeney
Huddersfield Town 3 - 2 Yeovil Town Drinkwater, Rhodes (2) - Seck, Senicanin 2-0 down at half time we leveled it up with 15 minutes to go before Rhodes smashed home a screamer. 25 yards curling shot into the upper 90, which sent McCarthy sprawling, but to no avial. Senicanin with his second goal for Yeovil, again showing his ability to beat the offside trap and suprise, suprise, good ol Mamadou "Pique" Seck getting on the score sheet yet again for his 4th goal in 5 games. Late contender for the golden boot anyone? MotM - Jordan Rhodes
It just occured to me that I havent shown you my signings, so here they are.
I think you'll agree that they are very good signings for a League 1 side, that originally would have been fighting to stay in the league.
Thanks for the support, next update will be tomorrow.
A question to everyone following -
"Who do you think has been my best signing?"
In my opinion, it has to be Mamadou Seck a fantastic player, picked up on a free, playing for a mere £350 per week! I think even Chester City could afford that haha!
Yeovil Town's FA cup campgain starts today with a potentially tricky fixture against Brentford. Yeovil's last trip to London to see Brentford ended in a 1-1 draw with both teams getting a share of the spoils. Yeovil Town are favoured to win, dispite having a rather shakey away record this season.
Brentford manager Andy Scott commented on Yeovil danger man Vincent Pericard, saying that for his team to progress in this cup, Pericard must be stopped. Daniel Jameson also commented on Brentford player Steve Kabba saying that he has the potential to cause Yeovil problems. However, Jameson did say that Mamadou Seck is more than capable of dealing with the threat of Kabba.
Brentford 1 - 1 Yeovil Town Campo - Seck
Another 1-1 for these sides showed that they were evenly matched. Dispite having more chances, Yeovil Town failed to capitalise and were bailed out by a Mamadou Seck header from a deflected free kick, after being 1-0 down for most of the match. Summer signing Ivan Campo rolled back the years for the Bees with a vintage performance, showing that he is still a wonderful striker of the ball, scoring from 20 yards out with a furious strike.
MotM - Ivan Campo
Campo formerly of Bolton gave Brentford the lead ealry on.
Yeovil boss Daniel Jameson attended the press conference after the match and explained that he was proud of his players "fighting spirit" and that Yeovil stand a better chance of progressing to the next round with a home fixture.
The replay will take place one week from now and the draw for the next round will be made in a few days. Some teams included in the draw are amatuers Tooting & Mitcham, Kings Lynn and Blue Square North team Bylth Spartans.
Else where there were shock results for Leeds, beaten at home by Stockport 1-2 after extra time and League 2 outfit Northamton beating Oldham away on penalties after a 3-3 draw.
There were two high scoring games including 5-1 win for Southamton over Crewe Alexandra and a 7-0 thumping for Carlise, defeating Blue Square Premier team Tamworth FC.
BBC TELEVISED REPORTS
SOUTH QUARTER FINAL
Yeovil Town 3 - 3 Millwall Pericard (3) - Morison, Dunne, Price Yeovil Town win 13-12 on penalties A magnificent Pericard on form again with his 3rd hat trick of the season. Millwall, being 3-1 down at on stage were dogged and determind and Morison's late goal took the game to the shoot out. I would just like to say I have never seen such a high score on a shoot out! With both keepers scoring the cycle went round again until Adam Bolder stepped up for his second penatly, only to hit it straight at McCarthy allowing Yeovil to progress onwards to face MK Dons in the Semi Finals. MotM - Vincent Pericard
Yevil Town 0 - 0 Charlton The first 0-0 of the season in League 1. Pericard was denied another goal after is header was hacked off of the line. Other than that ****** all happened. However its a good point against heavily a favoured Charlton side. MotM - Terrell Forbes
FA CUP FIRST ROUND REPLAY
Yeovil Town 4 - 4 Brentford Pericard, O.G, Murtagh, Seck - Campo, Kabba, Streven, Bennett Yeovil Town win 6-5 on penalties In all honesty Yeovil were lucky! 2 late goals from Strevens and Bennett squared the game and took it to extra time. Seck again was out standing forcing the own goal from a corner and scoring with his left foot after charging down a clearance from a free kick. Highlights of the match were Strevens' wonderful strike from 30 yards out, dipping over a helpless McCarthy and Bennetts power equalizer 2 minutes from time. MotM - Mamadou Seck
Yeovil Town 1 - 0 Exeter City Pericard Exeter City were very poor. They showed why they are currentaly bottom of the league with that kind of display. On another day Yeovil could have had 5, 6 maybe even 7. Exeter's Matt Taylor played out of his skin but that still wasn't enough to deny Yeovil the win. The defence were outstanding for Yeovil allowing only 1 shot in the entire 90 minutes which Fleetwood spooned well wide. Right back, Alcock impressed again showing talent going round to gain the assist for the goal. Finishing was disappointing but to be honest I dont care how I win, just as long as I do! MotM - Matt Taylor
Leeds 0 - 1 Yeovil Bowditch What a result! According to all sources, we were going to get spanked by Leeds! But thanks to some inspired rear guard action and a little help from the wood work Yeovil managed to steal 3 points at Elland Road. After with standing heavy pressure for 79 minutes the ball smacked back off of the bar from a Beckford shot which was speedily cleared by Mamadou Seck. Bowditch latched onto the clearance, beating his man and with a typical finish, passed the ball into the net to stun the Leeds fans and send the travelling Glovers into raptures. Yeovil captain Simon Mensing was absolutley brilliant today only just beaten to the man of the match award. MotM - Mamadou Seck
END OF NOVEMBER
[Nearly caught up now next update after Ive completed December]
[[PS Im gonna start doing news like reports for televised matches such as the game against Brentford. Tell me what you think]]
The 2nd round of the FA cup kicks off today with Yeovil Town welcoming part-timers Tooting & Mitcham United to Huish park. This is what the FA Cup is all about, these teams will never meet in any competition outside of the FA Cup.
Part-Timers Tooting & Mitcham apply their trade in the premier division of the Isthmian League along side teams such as Cray Wanderers and Maidstone United and have fended off Carshalton FC, Basingstoke, Didcot and a thrilling replay, penatly shootout win over Workington.
Despite being little know and seldom talked about, Tooting & Mitcham have had some footballing pedigree including current Crewe manager Dario Gradi and Cardiff City defender Soloman Taiwo. Former Wigan Athletic man Nathan Ellington also started his career at Tooting & Mitcham, playing for the under 18's team.
We are sure that everyone who is not a Glover's fan will be cheering Tooting on today. Its always nice to see an amatuer side get into the latter stages of the cup. However, Yeovil are currentally on a 6 match unbeaten streak, so Tooting will need to work very hard to cause an upset today.
No fairy tale for Tooting today they were clearly out classed by Yeovil. Bowditch opened the scoring, beating the keeper at his near post after a wonderful pass by Arrieta. Cristian Arrieta popped up again to get Yeovil's second of the game, beating the offside trap and cooly taking the ball round the keeper. Tooting then pulled one back through a wonderful goal Keeley vollying home a lovely cross which was definately the highlight of the match. Yeovil captain finally put Tooting to the sword with 15 minutes left with a powerful header, finishing off a lovely Yeovil move which saw Arrieta get his second assist of the game.
Bowditch celebrates his goal with his team mates.
After the game the Tooting fans were pleased with their team saying "We never even expected to get this far! The boys can be very proud of their achievement". Daniel Jameson, Yeovil manager, declined the invitation to the post match conference, sending assistant manager Nathan Jones instead. Jones said "We were clear favourites and we got the result simple as that really. Its good to progress to the next round because we want to give the fans a memorable cup run". MotM - Cristian Arrieta
Yeovil Town 1 - 1 Hartlepool United Pericard - Boyd A good, hard fought point. Despite Yeovil's fantastic home record, Hartlepool were favoured to win. They've been performing way above themselves and are sitting pretty in 2nd place of Coca Cola League 1. Boyd opened the scoring in the 34th minute for Hartlepool but Yeovil fought back and eventually got the equalizer, Pericard heading home a Cristian Arrieta cross in the 66th minute. Seck also had another good game. MotM - Adam Boyd
Gillingham 1 - 3 Yeovil Town Jackson - Pericard (2), Murtagh The Gills were mercylessly put down today. Pericard with a brace and Murtagh with an uncharacteristic headed finish to put Yeovil 0-3 up at the hour mark. Simeon Jackson scored with 10 minutes remaning, however it was merely a consolation goal. On another note, I would love to sign Jackson. Despite Gillingham lying in 20th, Jackson is the leagues 4th highest scorer! One goal behind Pericard. MotM - Vincent Pericard
Yeovil Town 2 - 1 Stockport County Pericard (2) - Johnson A routine win. Yeovil were favourites to win and duly delivered. Pericard with another brace bringing his tally to an impressive 5 goals in 3 games. Oli Johnson clawed a goal back for Stockport in the 89th minute. Forbes and Mensing were both very impressive, Alcock and Murray got an assist each. MotM - Vincent Pericard
SEMI FINAL
Yeovil Town 2 - 1 MK Dons Pericard (2) - Wilbraham Well, you certainly wouldn't have thugh this was a semi final... The Dons manager must have been fuming at full time, they just didnt have anything. Pericard with 2 goals again! thats 7 goals in 4 games now! He was outstanding blasting home a early goal and sending home his second with a truely brilliantly placed diving header. Aaron Wilbraham came on at half time and pull one back for the Dons from a corner with 20 minutes remaining. But the Dons didnt push on and Yeovil booked thier place in the final with realtive ease. MotM - Vincent Pericard
Colchester United 0 - 0 Yeovil Town Tighter than Katie Price's **** skin! Pericard and Welsh had shots cleared of the line and the U'***** the woodwork no less than 3 times. I was happy with the point away from home, considering Clochester were slight favourites to take the 3 points today. The two centre backs were brilliant for both teams. MotM - Mamadou Seck
Yeovil Town 1 - 2 Norwich City Way - Holt (2) Those lucky, little, Delia Smith loving b****ds!!! Yeovil's first defeat on home soil this season. We absolutely dominated them! The amount of time we stole the ball in the wide areas and caused their defence problems was in the double figures. Grant Holt with the luckiest brace Ive ever seen to seal the 3 points for Norwich. His first took two deflections before hiting the post a barely trickling over the goal line and his second was saved by McCarthy only for it to cruely ping off of the post and into the net. This has to be the most unconvincing win Ive ever seen on FM. MotM - Grant Holt
Yeovil Town 3 - 1 Oldham AFC Bowditch, Way, Arrieta - Brooke Nice way to bounce back coming back from 0-1 down to win comfortabley. Oldham trouble us in the first 30 minutes. Giving the Yeovil defence a good work out and eventually scoring. However that goal spured Yeovil in action with Way and Arrieta scoring before half time. Dean Bowditch made safe the 3 points after slotting the ball into an empty net after a shot by Andy Welsh was deflected leaving the keeper helpless. The whole team performed very well with everyone getting ratings of 7.0+, even the subs! MotM - Darren Way
Just started reading this, great lay-out ! I recommend *Andy Little from Rangers* scores for fun in League 1 and Championship level. He will be in the Rangers reserves if you have Scottish League's loaded !
Well avoiding relegation is well out of the window! Yeovil are currentally occupying a playoff spot in 5th. The signings of Mamadou Seck and Vincent Pericard have been outstanding through the first half of the season both proving to be match winners.
Coca Cola League 1 - January 2010 5th

Ps. Sorry that took so long to come out, Ive been really busy! I get updates out more often now.
Stevenage 0 - 2 Yeovil Town Seck, Welsh Predicted to win easily and well, won easily. Quite funny to be drawn against the feeder team but both Paul Howard and Sam Williams were cup tied for this match so neither took part, which weakened Stevenage's chances.
All in all, its good to progress considering reaching the 3rd round was the expectation. Bit unlucky with the draw we got though. Everton at Goodison Park later in the month. MotM - Mamadou Seck
Leyton Orient 2 - 0 Yeovil Town Zoko, Thornton
Horrid game. Only Seck and Agboh earning their keep today. Well beaten and I want to quickly put this defeat behind us. Nathan Smith was awful, truely, truely awful. Thornton ran hin ragged, forcing a big mistake out of him for his goal and breezing past him to set up Zoko. MotM - Sean Thornton
Swindon Town 2 - 2 Yeovil Town Shuker, Paynter - Welsh, Bowditch Chris Shuker was outstanding today. He explioted Smith easily getting a goal and an assist. 2-0 down at haf time Nathan Jones replaced him to steady the ship. Pericard had an off day and was subbed in the 65th minute for Bowditch, who squared the game 10 minutes from time. An inspired substitution if I do say so myself! MotM - Chris Shuker
Yeovil Town 0 - 1 Southampton Hammond So unlucky! Lambert scored 5 minutes from time after but Bowditch and Welsh had squanderd good chances, Forbes also hit the post and Serhat forced a good save out of the Southampton keeper. However, we really weathered a strom today. The score line could have been very embarrassing if the defense werent on top form. Southampton are a quality side. MotM - Dean Hammond
SOUTH FINAL 1st LEG
Yeovil Town 0 - 1 Wycombe Wanderers Pittman A very tight affair. Despite losing the team played well especially the back line. Pericard looked out of sorts, he was very wasteful and looked tired. Its a bitter blow to lose at home over two legs. Wycombe most definately have the upper hand now. Yeovil travel to Wycombe for the second leg in Febuary. MotM - Micheal Duberry
FA CUP 4th ROUND
Everton 3 - 1 Yeovil Town Jo, Jagielka, Cahill (pen) - Welsh Outclassed, but what can you expect? Darren Way had an awful game allowing Jo in to score and bringing Cahill down to conceed a penatly. Welsh scored early in the second half and the team kicked on after that giving it a good go but to no avial. Going out to a top half Premiership side away from home is not really that bad in all honesty. MotM - Tim Cahill
Yeovil Town 3 - 0 Brentford Serhat, Pericard, Seck And that is exactly what you want after 3 straight defeats. We gave Brentford a royal spanking! Serhat and Seck scoring before the 5 minute mark and Pericard finished the rout in the 55th minute. Brentford bent over a just took it, they were just simply powerless to resist Yeovil today, they had nothing. The controversial signing of Turkish striker Serhat was justified today, he made the critics eat thier words. MotM - Serhat
Millwall 0 - 0 Yeovil Town A good result. Millwall are on a rampage at the minute even beating the near invincible Brighton 3-0. We did very well to subdue them at The Den. Mamadou Seck was godlike! He single handedly kept Millwall at bay. He has got to be one of the best signings this season! MotM - Mamadou Seck
