thanks for the help guys, appreciate it. this now means that three more of my south american regens will be HG at club. yay!!

Malhar I would assume it's because he was at your club for 36 different months, not 36 full months.

not really sure what you mean. i think what it is is that even if the player is at the club from 18yrs1month to 21 yrs 1month, he will get counted as HG by club. so it probaby includes any time period during which he is at most 21.

This beast will join me in January as a replacement for Marco Verratti. Future captain I think.

EDIT: OMFG WTF he's joining BOTAFOGO! WTF WTF WTF! I thought I signed him!
Oh well unlucky for not signing him but he would only make a decent captain because he lacks experience and when he's around 30 his attributes will start coming down but would make a good set piece taker.

What I meant was he could be at the club for all 12 months of year one = 12
year two = 24
But in year three, he is at the club for all of the first 11 months leading to his birthday (say his birthday is the 2nd of December) and he is only at the club for one day of December, but he has been at the club for 36 different months.

Ahhhhhh okay.... I still don't get it :(

Huddersfield 2033

The first team (Subs and youth to come):

GK: Picked up this guy from OL at 16, been the first keeper since season 27-28.

DR: Came on a free transfer from OL at the start of the 30-31 seson, been great!

DCR: From Red Star (originally Pumas), a steal at ~5m£, been a great goal scorer at set pieces.

DCL: Just signed him from Roma, making my centerbacks two mexican towers!

DL: Born and bred Huddersman, my second in command and a real trooper.

DM: Another mexican beauty, dunno why a DM would have a flair of 20, but there you go. Came from Chivas at 18 for ~2m£.

MC: Playmaker, and probably the most underrated guy in this save, never won any individual awards but has been very important since he joined from Liga de Quito 11 years ago.

AMR: Another player from my youth setup, born in Huddersfield and long time captain of this team.

AML: Golden ball winner a bunch of times and considered the best footballer in the world by the game, is getting older but still has a season or two in him. Joined for free from RM season 25-26 and has assisted over 200 goals. Also an unstoppable mid-range free kick taker.

ST(R): Snapped him up from Colo at 18, for the sum of 2m£, has had some unfortunate injury problems but are still a top notch striker. 139gls in 190 league apps.

ST(L): Yes, another mexican. Constant runner-up to Cenzano for golden ball etc. but I consider this guy the absolute star, one of the best strikers I've ever managed. Even without a brave bone in his body he still manages to score 1+ goal per match in EPL every season. Signed him from Atlas for ~5m£ in 26-27.

Absolutely phenomenal side.

? It's on the 25th of December. So he joined me after he had already turned 18.

Yeah but it is before june of next season u have to look at it as a football season rather than a calendar year, you can buy an 18 year old in january as long as his 19th birthday is july 1st or later but not if his 19th birthday is june 30th or before

Aha! I get what you mean! Thanks for the explanation :D

This is the amount of time he would be at your club in different, not necessarily full months.

As your player is born in December, he has been at the club for 35 FULL months (the months with '1' on them) and half a month(the month marked with a '1/2')

This means that your player has been at your club for 36 DIFFERENT months, but not 36 FULL months. 36 months = 3 years thus Homegrown.

Yep, I finally get what you are saying haha! Thanks a lot!

i need help, whats the best way of finding regens?

There's a few different ways I use, mostly ideas I got from this board.

1. I have regular search filters set up by position, and I'll just keep decreasing the rating and number of attributes to match until really young players start showing up.

2. I have a "wonderkid" search set up that has all the attributes loaded (47 total) and will look for players under 18 that have 13 or more attributes > 13.

3. Scout the U20 national teams of world powers like Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Italy etc.

The only thing I want to add to what SpartyOn said is that it is vital to do manual searches of some of the top clubs in the top countries. IF you have a look at the regen I posted not long ago (Federico Oteiza), I got him for a compensation fee while I was searching some of the top clubs in Argentina. Also as he said, have a look at the u-21s and u-23s of the international teams. There are always some talented regens there.

Just poached this guy from Mainz. One of the best regens that I have found, especially since he is still only 15. He probably is good enough for my Lille team which I just took over (they had finished lower than 10th for the past 9 years). What do you suggest I set his individual training as? I'm thinking of improving his quickness since his technical abilities are already excellent but I heard somewhere that focusing on the physical side of things early might take up more of his PA.
