Henry Brings In New Faces

Henry has wasted no time in adding to his squad for the up and coming title push. Alongside the arrival of Pastore the following players have signed on the dotted line and will proudly wear the red shirt of Liverpool.

Another Premier league season kicks off, and Liverpool FC are seen by many pundits and bookmakers alike as 3rd favourites for the 2016/17 crown.

Henry tells a packed press room at Melwood that he is more than happy to be dubbed as nearly men for the season, and with the signings he has made he is more than confident that his side will be right up there at the end of the season competing for the biggest domestic crown in world football.

First 4 Games................

Everton 1 - 1 Liverpool (Sterling)
Liverpool 4 - 1 Leceister (Sakho, Coutinho 3)
Southampton 0 - 2 Liverpool (Sterling 2)
Newcastle 1 - 1 Liverpool (Barbosa)

3 Away games out of 4 sees Henry's men pick up 8 points from a possible 12. With many key players missing the Merseyside derby through international call ups, suspension and injury a draw will be seen by many as acceptable result. 2 wins and 2 draws sees Liverpool sit in 5th after 4 games with the only notable team of Chelsea who would be seen as title contenders sat above then.

Liverpool announce that Raheem Sterling has torn his calf muscle and is likely to be sidelined for 3 - 4 months. Critics are questioning whether this injury will hamper Liverpools early season form after last season saw them hit a awful run of form after losing the young English winger.

Henry has confirmed that he will now look to Depay to fill Sterling role out wide.

"Depay is more than capable of playing wide right, with a few tweeks in training i have no doubt we will continue to push for trophies on all fronts. We wish Raheem a quick recover and look forward to him coming back into the team soon"

A poor run of results in which our strikers have struggled to break down the lower league teams. Although Liverpool sit in 5th questions are being asked about the suitability of manager Henry?!?

New York Red Bulls Become Mangerless

images

Its been announced that New York Red Bulls have removed their former manager and are now looking for a manager to take them to the next level.

Speculation has began to circulate this week that French legend Thierry Henry could be on the list to take charge if he decides to leave Liverpool before he is pushed.

New York Red Bulls plays a part in the stellar career of Henry after all....................

What do the general public think of the speculation.......leave comments below!

Would be a bit of a strange sideway step to leave Liverpool.

However, in saying that it would probably be quite interesting to see how you'd deal with the wage cap and the DP's.

Monaco Sack Their Manager

Yet another one of Henry's former clubs have parted company with their manager!

The question is are the vultures gathering in the cue for Henry's services as people speculate over his future with Liverpool?

Sooooooo update due......shame my battery died on the laptop causing me to lose a 10 game unbeaten run!!!!

FFS!!!!

Henry Stays

HENRY GOING NOWHERE

After recent speculation that Henry and Liverpool where no longer the snug fit that they used to be Thierry Henry took time to speak to Sky Sports News where he informed them that he was going nowhere anytime soon.

Speaking to former Liverpool favourite Jamie Redknapp, Henry told Sky Sports:

"Im flattered to be linked with former clubs, and returning to my old playgrounds is something which later on in my career may interest me. For the time being i have a big job to do here, i have a great squad of players and board which continually backs me and a club which i owe a lot to after they gave me my first opportunity in management. This season can be a great one for everyone concerned with this club, and i aim to turn around recent disappointing results and bring back the scoring touch to this team".

Watford 0 - 1 Liverpool (Richards)
Liverpool 4 - 1 Fenerbahce (Depay, Coutinho 2, Lallana)
West Ham 1 - 6 (Depay 3, Sturridge 2, Coutinho)

10 Goals in 6 games for Depay is absolutely
phenomenal, not only that but 5 goals in 6 games for Coutinho and 6 in 6 for Sturridge. Henry's obviously been on the training ground passing on his expertise!

Liverpool 1 - 0 Everton (Sakho)
Liverpool 7 - 0 Bolton (Coutinho 3, Depay 2, Zivkovic, Can) FA Cup 3rd Round
Leicester 2 - 4 Liverpool (Sturridge 2, Richards, Barbosa)

Another great run of fixtures now place Liverpool at the top of the Premier League in mid January 11 points clear of Chelsea who still have a game in hand......could this be the season in which the Premier League crown comes home to Anfield?

A disappointing result against Wolves saw holders Liverpool crash out of the league cup to Championship opposition, and a second defeat to Barcelona sees Liverpool qualify 2nd for the knock out stages and presents them with a 2 legged tie against Atletico Madrid.

Backroom Merry-Go-Round

Backroom Merry-Go-Round

With the season end fast approaching Thierry Henry has taken the strange decision to sack assistant manager Colin Pascoe on the eve of the 1st leg tie against Ateltico Madrid. With Liverpool doing well in the league and enjoying consistant good runs of form many critics will question this move.

As the dust settled on Henry's move to disturb his backroom staff, the move has now shown more clarity with Liverpools announcement that the new assistant manager at Liverpool is none other than Henry's good friend and ex Arsenal invincible Patrick Viera. Not only has Viera rocked up at Anfield but former team mate and friend David Trezeguet has been announced as the new chief scout from Italian giants Juventus. What a great sign for Liverpool fans to see Henry setting up his own staff at the club possibly indicating he is at Liverpool for the long haul!

Defeat in the FA Cup to rivals Chelsea in a game in which we were very much their equals creates disappointment for this fixture round up, the domestic double is no more.

A defeat to Man City in the Premier League has not hampered Liverpools title ambitions as their other results and rivals forms leave Liverpool 10 points clear as of the 4th March 2017.

Additionally a 7-3 aggregate win against Atletico Madrid sees Liverpool progressing into the Champions League Quarter Finals for the second season in a row

Liverpool stormed to the Premier league crown in the 2016/17 season with Thierry Henry at the helm. The team claimed the title 15 points clear of the nearest rival Chelsea. Henry promised the Liverpool fans a push for the league title at the start of season, but many didnt believe it would actually end with the league title returning to the trophy room at Anfield.
