Ratcliffe doesn't have a hope of getting his hands on Manchester United let alone any other of the other bigger English Clubs not when the Oil Sheiks start being interested, he would be better off putting his money into a 'fallen' giant.
Yeah he ain’t getting close to 5bn bid in. He most probably could but he’s always stated he won’t be matching any over valuations from any club owners.

🚨💰 NEW: While the aim is to ensure that the process is completed by the summer transfer window, it is understood that - based on the interest shown - United could have new owners by the end of next month. @MikeKeegan_DM #MUFC ✅

Hassan al Thawadi & Nasser al-Khater are candidates to become the next Manchester United President/CEO if the Qatari bid is successful, according to @Tanziloic.

Understand Qatari offer for a Manchester United is around £4.5bn. Takes into account debt the Glazers have kept on the books & costs of infrastructure upgrade. Clearer picture will emerge once they see in-depth financials. #mufc

🚨 NEW: The Press Association understands the Raine Group – brought in to assist United in assessing offers – wants the buyout process to move at speed. @pa #MUFC 🔴

🚨🇶🇦 Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is "confident" in his #MUFC bid. But important to stress it is only an initial offer, and one that will be changeable. Now the real due diligence starts, which will define the final number. @JacobsBen

🚨 The Qatari group have worked "tirelessly" to not only assess their approach, personnel and strategy, but ensure their vision is clear: to invest in the club at all levels. It was seen as important they went public before the deadline. @JacobsBen #MUFC 🇶🇦🔴

🚨💰 At least two offers for United from the United States are expected, while there have also been suggestions of interest from Saudi Arabia.

That means there could be up to five parties trying to negotiate a full sale. @BBCSport #MUFC

🚨💰 NEW:

Ed Woodward is expected to make around £1.5million if the club is sold for £4.5billion. He is the only one outside of the Glazer family to have a class B action. @MailSport #MUFC ✅

🚨🇶🇦 Sheikh Jassim is now seen as the clear favourite to succeed in buying United. While his initial bid is about £2bn less than the Glazers' target selling price, access to money should not be an issue. @MailSport #MUFC 💰

🚨💰 JUST IN:

Sources close to Sheikh Jassim have said, he also has ‘significant’ extra cash to spend on the transfers and modernising Old Trafford and #mufc’s training facilities. @MailSport ✅

🚨 NEW:

Source: 'Sheikh Jassim was encouraged to make a bid for Chelsea when they came up for sale last year, but he had no interest in buying because it's United he supports.' @MailSport #MUFC 🔴✅

A statement from the Qatar bid in particular is understood to have caused consternation among those running the process, with the promise to return United to its “former glories” seen as implied criticism of the present owners. @Lawton_Times
