Bale's 1st Goal

Gareth Bale put on a class show on the opening day of the Premier League season as Spurs impressed at Villa Park. A fter a scrappy beginning it was Spurs who took 1st blood when Debutant Emmanuel Adebayor latched onto a Aaron Lennon Cross to drill home his first goal for the Club. Then it was time for Bale to take over; Firstly bending in a 30 yard free kick with 10 minutes to go before scoring a absolute peach with the last kick of the game that gave Spurs a winning start under new manager Nick Treadwell.

Then defoe completely took over, After linking up brilliantly with Cavani he helped himself to his second before completing his hat trick after 48 minutes, He then Vollied his fourth and Spur's fifth after a hour. Defoe's 3rd Goal

Jermain Defoe inspired a confident Spurs side to all but cement there place in the Group Stages of the Europa League. Defoe took his tally to 7 goals in his first 2 games, and there was also praise onto Edinson Cavani, who helped himself to 2 goals on the night.
A much changed Tottenham struggled to get into there rythem, that was until 15 minutes, Niko Krancjar set free down the left to pick out Edinson Cavani to head the ball into the net from 6 yards. The goal seemed to fuel Tottenham and after some fantastic passing football they were rewarded when Jermain Defoe beat the offside trap to go round the goalkeeper and slip the ball into the empty net. Tottenham began the 2nd haf as they finished the 1st, and Defoe was rampant, after going close twice he had his second after being played in by Cavani, he took 1 touch to steady himself before unleashing a fantastic finish into the top left hand corner of the net. Cavani then netted his second with his final touch of the game and Substitue Giovani Dos Santos handed Defoe his hat trick on a Plate.

Edinson Cavani hit a double as Spurs went to the Top of the Barclay's Premier League, It was his in form strike Partner Jermain Defoe that opened the scoring after 96 seconds when he headed in a Gareth Bale Corner from 6 yards, Tottenham seemed hungry and after 10 minutes doubled there lead, Cavani hammering a thunderbolt past Asmir Begovic to give Tottenham some comfort. Gareth Bale was then taken off injured, and his replacement Niko Kranjcar topped off Tottenham's half with a great 20 yard Free kick.
Stoke came out for the 2nd half looking a lot hungrier, and after some good football were rewarded when Kenwyne Jones headered them back into the game just before the hour, But as stoke pushed, gaps were left as Cavani was left one on one with Begovic and he made no mistake to give Tottenham 3 league wins out of 3.
