Newcastle will not offer new contracts to Sol Campbell and Shefki Kuqi according to Sky Sources.

Hopefully Arsenal bring him back as a coach. (Sol, not Shefki ;))

Joey barton's agent has apparently said that his client will not sign a extension, so he leaves on a free next summer, unless the club cash in this summer

I have from a West Ham source (friend of a board member) that the club have received 2 offers for Mark Noble and have turned them both down in the region of £5M.

They have also had in total 9 offers for Scott Parker, in the region of £8-£12M from Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs but Parker is keen to go to Spurs despite Liverpool offering the club the most money. All offers so far have been rejected by Sullivan and Gold.

they rejected all the offers? Are they really that greedy/stupid. He's a quality player but doubt will get offered more than that. They are playing a dangerous game

They're holding out because they believe that they can get more money for him. But if worse comes to worse and it starts getting too late, I'm sure they'll just contact the club that made the biggest offer and offer him out to them for that price to get the money in.

Not buying that. Can't see Arsenal and Arsene Wenger bidding 12m for a 31 year old English CM. :S

Wenger didn't bid £12M. Apparently Dalglish did. Wenger probably went in with the £8M and 'Arry with the £10M. Not sure of who bid what exactly, but I know Liverpool bidded the most out of the 3 clubs.

Was gonna say - I know the media think we'll bid for him but I doubt AW has that much interest. Not what we really need IMO.

:D :D

Arsene Wenger has dropped a major hint that he is ready to make a spectacular move for Karim Benzema.
Wenger says a move for Real Madrid's French striker "doesn't seem impossible" even if it would represent a big change in transfer policy for the Arsenal manager

Benzema, 23, may be available this summer as Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho looks to shake-up his squad to fund a move for Manchester City's Carlos Tevez.

Wenger said: "Viewed from the outside, it doesn't seem impossible today. He's a player that I like.
"I think he's intelligent in his movement, I think he is capable of combining well and making a difference, and of doing individual moves as well. So, for me he's a player who's at the top level in the world."
Wenger has insisted he will be active in the transfer window this summer but has already warned he will shy away from "£50m signings" and Arsenal would have to shatter their transfer record and pay around £20m for Benzema.

But that sort of calibre of signing would please the Arsenal fans who are desperate for Wenger to break with his philosophy and spend big. Lorient's French international Kevin Gameiro is also on Wenger's list of potential strikers.

Likewise for us. The Parker stuff coming out reads like it's coming straight from the desks of Messrs Gold and Sullivan to try and get Spurs to up their offer. Honestly can't see Liverpool putting a bid in for Parker with the Adam deal being sorted out, Lucas having a new contract, Spearing having a new contract, Meireles being very impressive, Gerrard being fit for next season and Aquilani's sale being sorted out. Really can't see what he'd add to the squad at that price.

Ok, one kosher 'rumour' from that thar RAWK - Downing has rejected offer of new contract at Villa. His choice is between Liverpool and Spurs.

We're told West Ham have complained to Premier League about Sunderland over an alleged illegal approach for Demba Ba #ssn

Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has denied any illegal approach, or interest, in Demba Ba #ssn

25m for a left back? Blimey..

I reckon we would pay that much for this left back. He's a class act & he would solve our chronic LB problem. I'd much rather pay £25m for him - the best attacking LB in the world right now - than £10m for a merely ok LB just in order to fill the position.

I don't believe this is a credible report from Portugal though. If he became available there would be a feeding frenzy of every club in the world that could afford him.

Honestly, can't Coentrao joining us really. Think it's a sure thing he's going to Madrid sadly.
