Nigel Reo-Coker has activated his Relegation release clause, and has left Bolton. Would be a good squad player for most of the PL.

Oh really? Well well well. He's a very tidy little player, would take him back at Villa in an instant.

He's pimped himself out to everyone. Apparently he loves madrid, arsenal, city, spurs and united all equally.

Being rather disrespectful towards Lille dont you think. I am sure Lille would want him to concentrate on the club instead of having him talk to the media about where he will be next season but I guess his media whoring benefits Lille in the end through which his transfer fee has certainly been inflated

Football transfer rumours: Fernando Llorente to Sunderland?

Today's tell-all reckons the weather is doing a **** fine job in dampening speculation

"Manchester City are ready to swoop for Robin van Persie," announces the Sun on its back page, the day before the hotshot striker holds showdown talks with his current employers. The Mirror insists that City are locked "in a three-way tussle with Manchester United andJuventus" for the Arsenal ace, who seems likely to turn his back on north London and its pretty but largely silverware-free footballing ways. But one player who won't be leaving the Etihad to make way for the potentially incoming soon-to-be ex-Gunner is Mario Balotelli. "Mario will be staying with us," revealed Roberto Mancini. "Next season he will again be a City player, 100%." So that's you told. The Italian also gave a progress update on his club's attempts to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic: "We haven't made a bid for him and we won't make a bid." And that's him told as well.

The list of people being linked with City is however long and growing, with Napoli's Edinson Cavani now thought to be No2 on their list of striking targets, his team-mate Ezequiel Lavezzi below only Eden Hazard on top of the incoming creative-type list, and Athletic Bilbao's Javi Martínez a new arrival at the top of their defensive-midfielder list. One striker who won't be joining City or indeed anyone else is Newcastle's absurdly successful January signing Papiss Cisse. "I hope to continue scoring goals for Newcastle next season," he declared.

England's deposed monarchs of outlandish spending, Chelsea, have told Porto that they will not meet the bizarrely inflated £38m asking price for striker Hulk, but will give them £30m if they ask nicely. And England's deposed monarchs of winning league titles, Manchester United, have been informed that midfield prodigy Paul Pogba is likely to leave the club for Juventus this summer. The player's agent, Mino Raiola, said that "as things stand now it is more likely that he goes away from Manchester".
Dirk Kuyt is sick and tired of Kenny Dalglish. "Under this manager I don't have the feeling any more that he will put me in the side every week," says the Dutchman. Kuyt was named in the starting line-up for just 22 out of 38 league games last season, so the statistics don't have the feeling any more that he'll be in the side every week, either. "Deep in my heart I'd love to stay at Liverpool so I could have full revenge on everyone," the player added, a turn of phrase which sounds more Carrie than Kuyt. What we do know about Liverpool is that, after this most disappointing of seasons at Anfield, Dalglish will be planning one almighty clear-out as he bins the dead wood and rejuvenates the side for a tilt at the top four. As the man himself said, "We don't want anyone to go. Our intention is to add to what we've got." Oh.

Randy Lerner wants Norwich's Paul Lambert to fill the Villa Parkhotseat after he sacked Alex McLeish yesterday, and the really good news for the American is that Lambert would be delighted to do so. "Lambo believes he may have taken Norwich as far as he can," reports The Sun. Lerner, meanwhile, has demonstrated his footballing acuity by cutting to the very heart of Villa's recent on-field problems with his probing analysis. "Compelling play and results that instil a sense of confidence that Villa are on the right track have been plainly absent," he said. And he's right, too. Other names being linked with the Villa Park hotseat are Chelsea rejects Claudio Ranieri and Avram Grant, Germany boss Joachim Löw and current QPR manager Mark Hughes.

Sunderland will abandon plans to sign the Arsenal loanee Nicklas Bendtner after the striker missed the team bus on Sunday, and also because he isn't actually very good, and will turn their attention instead to Athletic Bilbao's Fernando Llorente. So Arsenal might find themselves stuck with Bendtner despite slapping a hardly prohibitive £3.5m asking price upon his outsized head, and the bad news doesn't end there: Tottenham appear to have pipped them to the signing of the Ajaxdefender Jan Vertonghen, who was at White Hart Lane on Sunday to witness the final-day victory over Fulham, and was given a full tour of their training facilities.
Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy, who is due to get married on 2 June, has taken out wedding insurance in case he is called up to England's Euro 2012 squad and forced to cancel. And in other not-really-football-at-all news, David Beckham is going to have a kickabout with Michelle Obama on the White House lawn.

Players planning their departures from relegated Premier League clubs include England's own Matt Jarvis, heading for the Molineux exit as soon as Southampton firm up their £4m interest, and Nigel Reo-Coker, free to leave Bolton thanks to a post-relegation free-transfer clause he cunningly built into his contract at the Reebok. And, just to prove that we also care about rumours created outside the gilded top flight, Sheffield Wednesday want Oldham right-back Kieran Lee.

If Llorente goes to Sunderland, I will suck off a rhino.

Sign Cisse lose BA - that can't be good for Tyneside.

Yet another Dortmund player linked with Manchester United.

Everyone's favourite CB signing might be on the move - but where?

3 goal.com links would normally equal an instant ban. However, as i have never infracted you before, i'll let you off.

Note to all, don't link to goal.com - it's full of bullshit, made up stories and the site is run by borderline specials/

As this is a Rumour thread the source of the link shouldn't matter now should it?

Yes, yes it should. Rumours are sometimes true. Stories on goal.com are never true.

The banning thing was tongue in cheek, don't take it too seriously, but please link to at least a semi credible website when posting rumours.

It is journalism though Jake - none of it is ever truly credible.

There is a difference between Rumour and Bullshit. Which is 90% of the 'rumours' on goal.com.

These days i'd rather believe goal.com than any broadsheet.

I could set up a tinpot football website like goal.com or caughtoffside.com and call myself a journalist, doesn't mean i am one.

Anyway, this wasn't meant to be an argument or a big issue, just a friendly reminder to everyone to not link to these rubbish websites i'm referring to. We had a big problem with it a few years back, with kids and noobs going crazy making posts and threads on total non stories every time caughtoffside or goal released their latest made up, money spinning story.

Latics make late move for Baffour

Latics eye late move | Wigan Athletic News, Fixtures, Results, Transfers | Sky Sports

Or should I say 'eye'.. Wigan have always been a sucker for good goal scoring records in other leagues, Scotland and Sammon being prime examples. But he's only ever played in Ghana so it will be another massive risk, but one I'll trust. I think Bobby is going to move before the euros this time around.

Swansea preparing £2m bid for WBA striker Simon ***.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle are chasing Montpellier's French defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

Steven Fletcher is a target for Sunderland, as is Ryan Bertrand of Chelsea.

Del Piero may join an English club after admitting he would love to play in England.

Daniel Majstorovic has left Celtic and returned to Sweden with AIK Stockholm.

Toure should stick with City, I can see them becoming a huge club. Would love Del Piero @ Wigan (tongue in cheek), also Steven Fletcher (very possible)
