It was one of them ****** teams that didn't last many seasons.

I am not sure on this one so I am going to guess to try and gain a couple of points. 1977, 14 teams?
 
Are you including the Indy 500 when it counted towards the championship?
 
anyone else wanna just guess some teams so Zeminator doesn't get them all (H)

i think it was mid 70's but am proberly wrong

can you tell us when we get either year or number of teams as i'll just keep guessing numbers untill then
