Being Scottish, what annoys me is that in the likely event of the Conservatives forming a coalition with another party, then Scotland will be governed by a party that won only 1 seat in the whole of the country...

Yes but no, Islam and most (all?) religions is far worse. Islams holy book the Quran (the words from God) not only contains verses of violence but also encourages violence, and the Hadiths (stories about Muhammed from his closest followers) tells of great autrocities and genocides executed by the hands of Muhammed and his thugs.
Lets be clear about certain things different cultures have contributed more towards humanity, civil liberties, womens right and tolerance then others and with that said I mean that no civilization or culture on earth has or is perfect, only that there is different shades of grey but some are pitch black.
When you introduce different cultures to different people there will be conflicts it always has and its also the fact in England with domestic terrorism, hatecrimes, restrictions of freedom of speech, homophobia, sharia laws and courts and a "us against them"-mentality. And all this in contrast to the western european which in later years have been a bastion of secularism, freedom and science.
I'm not saying that all people from islamic or non european countries share these views, I'm not even saying a majority do but an undeniable large amount of them all I am saying is that they have alot more to learn from us then we have from them it should be feasible to set higher demands from people wanting to settle in your country.

A load of bullshit, common misconception about the Quran.
This is what we were talking about on the bus today. In total, the Conservatives have won seven seats ( I think ) Outside of England. It just highlights the flawed voting system. I understand the majority of the populace is in England, but the fact is out of the main area of land in Britain, no-one wants them in power in Northern Ireland, and a few thousand people do in Wales and Scotland. It's just not right. oO)

Perhaps you should read the Quran instead of claiming your an expert by googling random verses, of which most is down to miss interpretations/understanding. Or carry on living in your box of hate you ignorant little ****.

Which I did, and have, and provided links for you to aswell, obviously you have no intention of reading them as you are all to firm in your belief that Islam is nothing hateful and is peaceloving. Surely the common excuse of muhammedians or their appeasers is that you cannot translate the Quran however one cannot excuse the horrible crimes commited by Muhammed and the crimes his followers commit in his sick honor today.

Because the Koran was revealed in the context of an all-out war, several passages deal with the conduct of armed struggle. Warfare was a desperate business on the Arabian Peninsula. A chieftain was not expected to spare survivors after a battle, and some of the Koranic injunctions seem to share this spirit. Muslims are ordered by God to "slay [enemies] wherever you find them!" (4: 89). Extremists such as Osama bin Laden like to quote such verses but do so selectively. They do not include the exhortations to peace, which in almost every case follow these more ferocious passages: "Thus, if they let you be, and do not make war on you, and offer you peace, God does not allow you to harm them" (4: 90).
In the Koran, therefore, the only permissible war is one of self-defense. Muslims may not begin hostilities (2: 190). Warfare is always evil, but sometimes you have to fight in order to avoid the kind of persecution that Mecca inflicted on the Muslims (2: 191; 2: 217) or to preserve decent values (4: 75; 22: 40). The Koran quotes the Torah, the Jewish scriptures, which permits people to retaliate eye for eye, tooth for tooth, but like the Gospels, the Koran suggests that it is meritorious to forgo revenge in a spirit of charity (5: 45). Hostilities must be brought to an end as quickly as possible and must cease the minute the enemy sues for peace (2: 192-3).
