From now as you can see your choice which tactic to use depends on opposition formation and as I said keep your eyes on it during the match because it can be changed anytime. Simple as that. ;)

Thanks very much. But what about if I'm strong favourites at home and a team use one of the bottom set of formations? Surely even then I should use the attacking version correct?

I've just used the attacking version v4 against the mighty hull away from home. We just about managed a 2 all draw. It's things like that which annoy be because that's a match I should be winning with ease with this tactic right? Hull played one of the formations that you said the attacking version should be used against but still no luck.

Basically it's the away games against the smaller teams that I worry about.

I would recommend when you choose what tactic to use don't think about are you favorite or underdog just stick to the guide.

Heh... just don't pay attention that one version called Defensive it has enough attacking potential against some formations.

What about this formation, hah..? I kept using defence, due to similar formation mentioned in op.

Guys, I want to share the method I use that can help further boost your results.

I've found that Attacking version can be used against some formations with great success almost without risk for you to be hammered in defense.



Here you can see the list of formations against I would recommend to use ATTACKING version:

VERY IMPORTANT:

Please, bear in mind that AI teams almost always change their formations during the match depend on what is going on so you must always keep your eyes on opposition formation. For example, they can start match with 4-1DM-2-2-1 and then change to 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 or any other , usually it happens in 2nd half and AI teams change formation a lot during the second half.

BUT IF YOU LEAD BY 2 GOALS THEN SWITCH FOR DEFENSIVE VERSION NO MATTER WHAT FORMATION OPOSITION USES.

If you see opposition uses formation with AM then use Defensive version.

Alright. Didn't concede any goals, so i figured it was okay anyway. So far in this season (with both teams), i've played many draws and concedes a "lot". But after the newest update and formations etc i've 3 straigt wins - 0 goals against. As said, not tried attacking yet.

can someone tell me what v4 formation looks like? mine isnt the same as 1 in post
 
Ye but in op formation has a player behind front two. The v4 I have has no player there
 
How about 4-5-1 formation? Regular: ML, MCL, MC, MCR, MR
I see 4-4-2 is defensive, and 4-1-4-1 is attacking (DM)
 
i testet it.
it is a very good thing to chose the own tactic dependent on the formation of the opposition.
i hope this brings more long dated success, as the favorit/underdoog thing....
if the opposition use a formation, which isn't represented i use the defensiv tactic.

Hello guys i have one question really fast, in second season who do you buy to have better attack options, i have Lambert and El arabi as main strikers, and backup is pretty much Eduardo on loan and Vietto who i got very cheap around 4.5m , so can u recommend me some names, for next season because when i use the search filter for strikets i get only vagner love and Eric rest are "unrealistic targets " so they don't wanna join my club.Maybe there are some new young players who dont yet have the filters settings but are good enough ?:) can u give me some names please would be great
