Saunt takes charge at Swindon
Former Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has had his contract terminated with immediate effect by chairman Andrew Fitton. Rookie manager Chris Saunt has been appointed the new boss. Unproven and inexperienced, the appointment has shocked the fans with some slating chairman Andrew Fitton calling him an idiot. Saunt definately needs to hit the ground running.

Pre-Season gets underway
Excitement grows around the County Ground as the pre-season fixtures are announced. Home clashes against Blackpool and Sunderland will no doubt be entertaining matches. Swindon also play partner clubs, Swindon Super Marine, Cirenchester, Hungerford and Chippenham. Pre-Season kicks off though against Rotherham United.

v Rotherham (Away)
The first game of pre-season for the Robins wasnt a good start. A 2-1 loss against a team a league below suggests it was always Rotherham's day but after Swindon keeper Phil Smith went off injured and no players to call upon in goal, Simon Ferry went in goal and scored an own goal in the 93rd minute after spilling a looping cross.

Professional performance from the Robins against a small local club. Goals from 2 new signings Dervite and Sears earn the Robins a 2-0 win.

Freddie Sears is proving his worth with 2 more strikes in todays match. All be it against alot smaller teams.

v Blackpool (Home)
Forgetting the first half an hour of this game and Swindon were much the better side but having to comeback from 2-0 down was always going to be a tough task. Billy Paynter finished off an excellent John Bostock through ball. All hopes of a draw were abolished when Blackpool scored with 10 minutes left.

Swindon are finding the net on a more regular basic now with Sears and Austin bagging a brace in a 4-0 win.

A massive effort from the Robins which will delight the fans. Saunt's side could have been 2 or 3 up by half time but Marton Fulop wasnt going to be beaten. An unlucky result of 1-0 against this quality is really promising.

v Chippenham (Away)
John Bostock, Dorian Dervite and Scott Cuthbert all bagged goals in a 3-1 thumping of Chippenham. In truth it should have been more but a win none the less.
