As i have been roaming through the Story section of FM-Base, I have noticed that many users who have started stories never finish them, or never gain enough momentum to keep their story going. Therefore, I have decided to complete 3 seasons with Valencia, to ensure that my story has momentum. This way, I can ensure you that I am committed to story and am going to do my best to finish it.
NOTE: This database includes an edited Australian leagues system, this will explain unknown clubs and players. The players are regens and the clubs are fake, made to help my Australian leagues system.

As I begin my journey to create a 3rd force of Spanish football, I have set myself a 5 year plan:
1st season - Top 6 finish
2nd season - Top 4 finish
3rd season - Top 2 finish
4th season - 1st place finish
5th season - 1st place finish and Champions League

Unlucky mate but dont ever give up keep pushing valencia to the limit my advice would be mybe a switch of tactics? or mybe more dicapline but i dont blame you finishing thee 2nd season is always the hardest espesially when it comes to spanish teams wheer they have lots of money

ahhhhhh you're not getting enough out Villa, Mata, and Silva. I used a 4-2-3-1 formation that worked magnificently. If your luck doesnt turn maybe try it out.

Villa - Poacher (he got 69 goals in one season for me)
Siva - AMC (Advanced playmaker-attack)
mata - AML (inside forward attack)

with manuel fernandes, banega, or any other cm you have the formation does the job. you have 3 fantastic players there. try and shape your team around them if you havent already.

in any case hope you get in the top 4 for season 3, good luck mate.

how many goals did david villa score for you? 1st and 2nd season?

Looks like he was much sharper second season from a bystander ;)

Yeah he improves alot in the 3rd season, keeps my other two strikers of that season (Adrian and Iker Muniain) out of the first team for practically the whole season.

Transfers
Now before anybody has a go at me for cheating. I would just like to point out that I have spent ridiculous amounts of money on transfers, but this is due to the board giving me 30million to spend and me stretching this budget through buying all my players using 48month plans.

Heading into this pre-season, after the dissapointment of the last season. I felt my squad to be stale, lacking quality and depth. I began to think that if a usable transfer budget was given, I would go all out and re-establish the spine of this team, with real quality, and if possible Spanish players.

As i looked at my team, i realised that Miguel was easily my best right back and he had no decent back up or competition for his position. I managed to find Cesar Azpilicueta, a right back with great stats, and relatively young at 21. He arrived for a total fee of 10million.

As i began analysing my midfield, I realised that Manuel Fernandes was clearly the better midfielder. And remembering that I play a 4-3-3 Formation with a holding midfielder, a deep lying playmaker and a Advanced playmaker, I felt at least two more midfielders were needed to fill the voids of a deep-lying playmaker and to add some depth as Camacho and Fernandes would not last all season alone. to solve my midfield problem Felipe Melo was acquired from Juventus for 23million, he would give Fernandes competition for the deep lying playmaker position. Whilst Ruben De la Red was acquired from rivals Villarreal to give Camacho competition for the holding midfield position.

With Nikola Zigic being deemed surplus to requirements, I went in search of a young striker with loads of potential (this is due to Adrian and Villa already being established strikers, both fighting for the lone striker position in the first team). In my search, 19 year old Iker Muniain was picked up from Athletic for a fee of 3.5million.

Just like Valencia's central midfield problems, these were also evident in our central defensive positions. Carlos Cuellar and Alexis were both quality defenders, but Marchena had become past his best Angel Dealbert, MAthieu and Bruno were not up to Top 4 challengers standard. So I once again raided Villarreal for two central defenders, one being able to play the "Ball Playing Defender" position and the other being able to play the "Limited Defender" position. For a combined fee of 53.5million, I acquired two very talented defenders in the form of Ivan Marcano and Gonzalo Rodriguez. With Rodriguez being my first non-Spanish purchase of the transfer window.

With Moya being totally unreliable between the posts last season, I felt it was time i found a quality goalkeeper. My first choice was Atletico's Sergio Asenjo, however Atletico were unwilling to let him go for under 40million, so I let that prospect go. Instead I looked to Russia and found one of the best goalkeeper in the game, Igor Akinfeev. He was purchased for 30million.

With the departure of MAthieu, Royston Drenthe was my soul left back, I purchased Juan Manuel Vargas from Fiorentina for 15million. This was the final peace of transfer business. I felt that my squad was more than capable of finishing in the top 4 and achieving Champions LEague football for next season.

After my set of friendly results (apart from the Liverpool game), I am confident in my teams ability, and this was backed up in the EURO Cup qualifiers. Another positive was our winning start to the league season. September will be a more testing month.
September

Valencia 2-0 Deportivo
Euro Cup
Anorthosi 0-2 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valencia 1-0 Valladolid
Athletic 1-3 Valencia
Valencia 2-2 Espanyol
Euro Cup
Valencia 3-1 Zurich
We continue our unbeaten sequence in all competitions. We have picked up 10 points from a possible 12 in the league and we have one both EURO group games. Been a very positive month, the only negative being a home draw with Espanyol. Hopefully October follows suit.

October

Liga BBVA
Valencia 2-1 Atletico
Betis 2-0 Valencia
Euro Cup
Olympiacos 1-2 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Villarreal 1-0 Valencia
Spanish Cup
Jaen 0-7 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valencia 3-2 Zaragoza

Spanish Cup
Valencia 6-0 Jaen
Liga BBVA
Tenerife 0-0 Valencia
Valencia 1-1 Almeria
Valencia 2-0 Celta
Hercules 0-2 Valencia
Real Soceidad 1-3 Valencia
October has been a busy, and slightly disappointing month. We have secured qualification to the next round of the Euro Cup. However, we only acquired 17 out of a possible 27 points. This may be the end of a possible title push, however our aim of a Top 4 finish is very much on track.

November

Euro Cup
Zurich 1-4 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valencia 2-3 Barcelona
Sevilla 1-1 Valencia
Euro Cup
Valenia 0-0 Olympiakos
Liga BBVA
Valencia 0-2 Real Madrid
1 point from 9 games. WE are still a long way of being title contenders, if games against the bigger teams are anything to go by. December was a disappointing way to end the year. Especially after disappointing performances at home to both Real and Barca.

January

Racing 0-2 Valencia
Spanish Cup
Valencia 3-0 Salamanca
Liga BBVA
Valencia 1-1 Getafe
Spanish Cup
Salamanca 0-2 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valencia 2-0 Hercules
Spanish Cup QTR Final
Valencia 3-1 Tenerife
Liga BBVA
Deportivo 0-3 Valencia
Spanish Cup QTR Final
Tenerife 1-1 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valencia 1-0 Xerez
13 points from a possible 15 points gives us a clear indication that a Top 4 finish will be achieved with relative ease, only if we keep this momentum and consistency. We also booked ourselves a place in the Semi Finals of the Spanish Cup against Real Madrid, this is something to look forward to.

February

Spanish Cup SEMI Final
Real Madrid 1-1 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valladolid 1-2 Valencia
Spanish Cup SEMI Final
Valencia 1-2 Real Madrid
Liga BBVA
Valencia 3-0 Athletic
Euro Cup 1st K/O
Zenit 0-1 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Espanyol 2-2 Valencia
Euro Cup 1st K/O
Valencia 3-1 Zenit
Liga BBVA
Valencia 1-1 Betis
February ends with Valencia knocked out of the Spanish Cup at the hands of Real, 8 points out of a possible 12 gained, with annoying draws with Espanyol and Betis to blame for 4 points lost. Whilst on a positive, Valencia are through to the Euro Cup 2nd K/O round.

March

Atletico 1-3 Valencia
Euro Cup 2nd K/O
Valencia 5-1 Espanyol
Liga BBVA
Almeria 0-0 Valencia
Euro Cup 2nd K/O
Espanyol 2-1 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valencia 2-2 Villarreal
Zaragoza 0-0 Valencia
Euro Cup QTR Final
Shaktar 2-1 Valencia
In European competition, Valencia have been exceptional. However, we need a positive result to secure our place in the semi final of the Euro Cup. However, domestically 6 points out of a possible 12 were attained, leaving the hope of a 2nd place finish gone.

April

Liga BBVA
Valencia 3-0 Tenerife
Euro Cup QTR Final
Valencia 3-0 Shaktar
Liga BBVA
Celta 0-1 Valencia
Valencia 2-0 Real Sociedad
Euro Cup Semi Final
Palermo 1-2 Valencia
Liga BBVA
Valencia 3-2 Sevilla
Euro Cup Semi Final
Valencia 4-1 Palermo
Liga BBVA
Real Madrid 0-0 Valencia
A very good month, seeing us only drop two points, and that was away to Real Madrid. We have basically secured our top four finish, now we need to ensure 3rd place is ours. WE are also through to the final of the Euro Cup against Liverpool. So hopefully there will be silverware come the end of the season.

May

Barcelona 1-1 Valencia
Valencia 1-1 Racing
Euro Cup Final

A very dissapointing game. We didn't deserve to go down the way we did. However, I am still proud of the effort my players put in and am confident that next year we will do well in the Champions LEague.

It has been a good season definitely. We have imrpoved significantly since last season, and our signing have gelled in well. Our team is looking good, and with a few signing we will become a major force next season...hopefully. The Euro Cup was a particular highlight, although ending in disappointment, we can hold our head high. Feedback would be greatly appreciated on how Season 3 went. Thanks for reading!
