Walking in unknown territory - Unemployment.

This inspired me to play a save where i start off unemployed. Usually I play decent teams (Leverkusen in FM14), but I want to give this a go. I know many people play unemployed.

Great story magnificent progress!
Thankyou!

Thanks bud, yeah It's fun taking over somewhere you'd least expect to manage but I've grown a love for Sheff Utd in previous FM's and been to Bramhall Lane myself a few times!

Surinam 0 - 3 USA
Johannson (13'), Hyndman (24'), Bradley (54')

MOTM: Emerson Hyndman

A great way to start the campaign off to our last World Cup qualifying group, Surinam are ranked as the lowest team in the group and not been given a chance but they worked their socks off. We come away with a comfortable victory and we will be jetting home which we will next play Panama.

USA 3 - 1 Panama
Green (11', 68'), Agudelo (71')

MOTM: Julian Green

We make that two wins straight off in our group, It's amazing how much my eyes have opened travelling the world already being the manager of America. The different styles of football played and the whole game is broadening my knowledge week upon week. We run out winners again and keep a 100% record in the group.

New signing, Johan Laedre Bjordal who arrives on a free transfer. Johan has played all his career in Norway and has 6 caps for the National team of Norway. He will give us extra quality in defence and bolster up our options in there.

Millwall 0 - 4 Sheff Utd
Adam (2', 59', 84'), Loftus-Cheek (47')

MOTM: Charlie Adam

Another matchball for Charlie who was sensational today and brings us star quality to the team, two hattricks already this season for the Scotsman shows he knows how to find the net. Another clean sheet is also an eye opener, the fact we have scored four goals in each of the last 3 games is ever so pleasing and we are gaining momentum all of the time.

Bramhall Lane

Sheff Utd 1- 1 Walsall
Wilson (88')

MOTM: Eric Lichaj

We can't win every game in the league we know that, but for sure we won't be fighting relegation whatsoever and we showed very good fighting spirit till the end of the match as we snatched a late equalizer at the death from James Wilson who's recently recovered from a broken leg, it was good for him on a confidence level aswell as the team. We move to next match.

Sheff Utd 3 - 1 Sheff Wed
Baxter (7', 23'), Wallace (80')

MOTM: Jose Baxter

Wow, what a match. I was swept off my feet at the atmosphere before the match, my first Sheffield derby and we was the ones who took the game to Wednesday from the off and got an early goal, after that they always looked uncomfortable and didn't want to commit anybody forward. Our crowd also played a major factor in the result today backing the team with every pass, tackle, header. We won as a team today and that's including the fans. This ones for you!

I thought we was never going to win it until a last minute goal from James which saved us the embarrassment.

Rohan Ince
Waited patiently for his chance in the team first few months but now has been solid and been breaking everything up for us, one of the under appreciated players in the game where the unseen work effort goes unnoticed.

Bramhall Lane

Sheff Utd 2 - 0 Middlesbrough
Taylor (4'), Baxter (28')

MOTM: Eric Lichaj

Comfortable again, against a big reputationed team in Middlesbrough we took an early lead through a delightful bullet header from Steven Taylor which marked his first goal for the club and he celebrated in great fashion. Jose also doubled our lead just before the half hour mark and made the rest of the game comfortable for us. It's taken Jose a little while to find his feet in this division but now he doesn't look out of place whatsoever.

Stadium Of Light

Sunderland 2 - 0 Sheff Utd

MOTM: Ryan Bennett

Our run had to come to an end sometime and the quality Sunderland put up against us today showed they deserved the points. They still have players on Premiership wages and of Premiership quality. We have to remember we are new to the division only coming up from the other end, to match them showed we played very well despite our loss.

MOTM:
Eric Lichaj

Another brilliant result for us. No hangover from the defeat against Sunderland.. Our tactic seems to cause so many teams problems, we are so offernsive and commit so many players forward when attacking that teams don't know what to do. Credit this game to both fullbacks who have been ever present and been the key to our success, Harris even got on the scoresheet after a wonderfully taken freekick to wrap the game up for us.

Elland Road

Leeds 2 - 3 Sheff Utd
Loftus-Cheek (11'), Bjordal (25', 43')

MOTM: Johan Laedre Bjordal

On paper another win yes, but I was more angry at this game although we won than the loss against Sunderland. After being 3-0 up we relaxed and let Leeds back into the game which I do not accept nor will I stand for. We work till the very last minute in every game we play in.

Bristol City 2 - 1 Sheff Utd
Baxter (39')

MOTM: Luke Freeman

Not the most ideal way to end the year. Would have liked to finish with a bang but it was a scrappy game which every team is due to have a few in a season and the pitch was in awful condition which you couldn't play football on. I'm not looking for excuses but today just wasn't our day.

Settled into the team ever so quickly and the commanding centre-half has chipped in with 3 goals this month.

I used to follow your FM14 stories on an old account and I'm glad to see you've continued into FM15.

You're doing fantastic so far - good luck!

Thanks William, yeah I like floating around and not committing too much to one club. Makes the game better to enjoy for much longer.

I had a succesfull career with Sheff Utd in fm 2014 and 2013.I'm glad to see that other people enjoy playing with them.Lead them to greatness.

Good luck!

This is how we finished our year.

Steady but calm in the way we finished, a nervous finish to the end of the season but we held our nerve and we finished...

We managed to gain promotion to the Premier League, the world most prestigious league against all odds when we was favorites to be relegated. An absolute delight to coach these players and we won various awards such as Eric Lichaj claiming the Player of the Season aswell as granting himself in the Team of the Year alongside Charlie Adam. On a personal level I won the Manager of the Year award and for it to be my 3rd in every season as manager is beyond a great achievement for me and I couldn't have wished for much better. The reason in which I'm not ranting round like a madman about promotion and managing in the Premier League is that before the season closed, I was approached by a team which hold great history and heritage and showed utter desire for me to be their manager next season. Offering me great terms and the chance to manage a football team of their quality was unbelievable and a great honor for me. I think that it's understandable why I am moving on and I will leave with great memories here at Sheffield United and I'm delighted that I have taken the club on two successive promotions back to where they belong. But now, my venture with my new club awaits... But who are they?

View attachment 325908

You done amazing work at Sheff United to get them to Preml i would said take them for the first season and see how you do with them but good luck at your new club and looking at that, it seems like it may been Southampton who have approached you but i could be wrong lol or Liverpool

I thought it was time for a little bit of reflection as I was to start my duties in a few days at my new club. I booked a short trip away just to ease myself and only when I sat down did I begin to think how far I've come as an individual. Footballs a funny old game and to say I would be managing in a top division four years ago I'd of laughed at you and thought you was crazy. It's a non-sleeping environment to what you think being a football manager is actually like. Phone calls at 4 A.M to enquire about the price of an unwanted 18 year old. It's the little things that make the job so amazing, the turn up on matchday. I am there four hours prior to kick off.. To see an empty stadium fill up is a great feeling and knowing that wherever I've been so far I've had the backing of the fans which although I am where I am now I still owe Bristol Rovers who I guided to promotion when they was lurking in the relegation spot. Quite remarkable when I look back at it now, but they are back in the league where they belong. My next venture was with Sheffield United, a club which I have heart for as I have followed them a little bit before I got into management and we knew that we could get out of League One and we romped it. The Championship was much more of a surprise when my objective was to avoid relegation but the heart in that team wanted much more than that and although sometimes the best players produce results, our hardwork outshone any talent. I'd of happily stayed at Sheffield United for years, but the opportunity for me to better my career and keep on improving it would have been selfish of me and the club for me to stay where I am, a new venture begins again. Nobody can say I've took a job and left the club in a worse position than when I arrived. Even my short spell in charge of U.S.A. took me on adventures which I have learnt how different football styles are in different continents. Now lets see what the future has in store for us.

Garner named as new Ajax boss.

It's been hard for me keeping my mouth shut!! I've felt like a little schoolkid ever since I got the phone call and due to legal reasons it couldn't be announced till the end of the season. But this is the stage now where I can really prove myself, in a top league in a country, despite finishing 4th last year I know with a good sit down and training we can be back challenging in the Eredivisie. It's a whole new scene for me as now I'm 23 and my first venture abroad in management.. Something which many people didn't think I would do but I've made the bold step in doing this for my career. No disrespect to Sheffield United but this was one of the easiest decisions I had to make soon as I had been informed.

Amazing scenery from my new hometown, Amsterdam.

I'm honestly still flattered, a club with such heritage and history. 4 times winners of the UEFA Champions League and have held host to some of the biggest names to ever grace the game of football. Marco Van Basten, Dennis Bergkamp and Johan Cruijff. The list could go on and the whole idea of Ajax producing world class talent in the latter years are players such as Wesley Sneijder, Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghan. I've been watching the Eredivisie ever since I had the call and studying the players I'd be inheriting and seeing where we could improve and where are our key areas. I'm delighted that the day I come here I feel like I've been welcomed into a big family which the club seems very harmonious and happy.

Amsterdam ArenA, 53,052 Capacity.

The stadium and facilities at this place are unbelievable and you can see why they produce so much talent, combined with an amazing lifestyle of the city it's a great place to learn your trade. There are so many young players waiting to break into the first team which are going to hope to catch my eye during pre-season. I'll be picking my team based on merit and not reputation or who's been here the longest. I've shown before I'm not afraid to throw a 17 year old in at the deep end. I have a great bunch of legends which are here as my backroom staff including Edwin Van Der Sar and Dennis Bergkamp and I'll be working with Marc Overmars on transfers and it takes a little bit of pressure of my shoulders on that department.

I may shake a few fans up in the department of the club, I'm not the normal yes man manager which they may be accustomed to but I am different and I bring much more to the table, I look at things on a big picture. Football is a great sport loved by fans and everyone but it is a business at the same time. I'm not going to send the club into financial crisis for success.

Let the story unfold.

Wow Ajax! a great career move there, just dont spend too much time in Amsterdam Central ;) lol

Good read so far.

Wanted to ask. Did you start at the lowest possible stats for your manager?

Pre-Season

We've made good ground in the run up to starting the season, I've had a good all-round judgement of the team and can see players who are trying to impress me and I'll be tinkering in Pre-Season games to see what players are like in match situations. I have great coaches at my disposal which are constantly reporting back to me on performances, body fat and so many things I didn't even know went on. Yet another learning curve for me in my career.

Some convincing performances during this pre-season and some excellent performances. We go the pre-season unbeaten but we have some Europa League qualifiers which await us. Most of the goals in pre-season have been shared out between the squad which is nice to see. There have been some standout performers though and players i'll be looking to call on during the start of this season.

Yeah I think somebody else asked me this previously. Whatever club I've been at though I've requested training for my badges all the time.

A great run at Pre-Season so far, hopefully that carries on into the season
