Muamba is a beast, i really like him. Jon Harley always seems to be my lower league signing great value.

Nice signings mate, try to look for Helder Postiga, Djalo and Pedro Silva or something (RB or LB, not sure), all from Sporting, you can get them on loan and they are quality in my Newcastle Game. :)

Yeah Muamba is immense, he got young player of the month at one point and now I'm on his favoured personnel, and so is Danny Graham ^^) And yeah Harley has been consistent for most of the season so didn't see much point playing Travner there when he came back from injury. :)

Thanks for the advice dude. :)

Have a look at Hedwiges Maduro. Awesome defensive midfielder. :)

Watford take their chances in close game

jenkinsv.jpg

Potential beginning to fulfill - Jenkins is now showing promise and form at the same time

In a close game, Watford were clinical in front of goal and Peterborough will of felt hard done by as they lost this game with a harsh scoreline of 3-0. Goals from strikers Henrique and Graham, and a rare goal from midfielder Ross Jenkins gave Watford a 3-0 victory, but it wasn't all clean sailing for The Hornets.

The first half was all Peterborough, until Watford hit them with a sucker punch on the stroke of half time when Paulo Henrique got on the end of a Don Cowie through ball and smashed past Peterborough 'keeper Joe Lewis with ease.

The second half was Watford's half although Peterborough were still a big threat on the counter, but the threat was lowered when Danny Graham smashed in his 10th league goal of the season from the penalty spot when Cleverley was fouled in the area and Graham stepped up with confidence to bag Watford's second of the game. Ross Jenkins finished off the rout on the 73rd minute after Charlie Lee's mistake let Jenkins in on goal who chipped 'keeper Joe Lewis to finish off Peterborough for good. A good result for Watford who are starting to pick up form again.

Jim Gannon said:
The scoreline was extremely harsh if I'm honest, but that's football and you've gotta stay calm and take these results on the chin. Otherwise a good perfomance but no real finishing product today from the lads.

Max King said:
A good result for us, and I do feel sorry for Peterborough but I'm sure they'll bounce back from it and come back stronger and I honestly think they'll easily stay up this season.

First half Kuqi strike sinks Watford

kuqivswatford.jpg

Clinical - Even at the age of 33, Kuqi's still got it

A first half goal from experienced striker Shefki Kuqi ended Watford's 2 game winning streak and lost them a crucial game as Watford were 3rd before this game, and Swansea were 4th. The first half was all Swansea and Watford found it very hard to break down an impressive Swansea team which were twice as good compared to their previous meeting in the league and also in the League cup. When Ferrie Bodde's through ball found Shefki Kuqi unmarked in the box, there was no doubt where the ball was going; in the back of net.
The second half was much the same and Watford once again failed to break down Swansea time after time much to manager Max King's frustration. Swansea held out for the 3 points and deserved their win throughout the whole 90 minutes.

Max King said:
I'm disappointed we couldn't even break through their defence today but to be fair they set themselves out really well and did deserve the win, so well played to them.

Paulo Sousa said:
I'm really happy that our defence was so good today, it was great to watch the opposition fail at every attack and a win is a win in my book so I'll take a defensive 1-0 win all day long.

Ebbsfleet fail to shock Watford in FA Cup

facups.jpg

The first hurdles - Watford's first FA Cup game ends in victory

With a weakened Watford side fielded, Ebbsfleet may of felt they had a slight chance against Championship team Watford, but it was not to be as Danny Graham came on in the second half and sunk Ebbsfleet without doubt with 2 goals after Hoskins had put Watford 1-0 up in the first half.

In the first 20 odd minutes Ebbsfleet showed real fighting spirit and courage and weren't scared of their superior's and got stuck right in, although sadly all their effort was useless when Will Hoskins slotted the ball past the Ebbsfleet 'keeper in the 25th minute, and it was always going to be an uphill struggle from then on. Manager Max King clearly wanted to finish Ebbsfleet off, and brought on top scorer Danny Graham at half time who made it 2-0 with a diving header in the 59th minute to put it beyond doubt, and then an amazing 6 minutes into injury time, he scored another with a close range volley to make it 3-0 and game over. A good effort by non-league side Ebbsfleet but Watford were just to good for them in the end.

Max King said:
We were expected to win and I have a great feeling of relief we didn't have to play part in an FA Cup shock as it can really make your season have a turn for the worst if your not careful.

Liam Daish said:
It was a fun day out for the players and I was pleased to be a part of it, I think if they hadn't of scored so early on and we had held out at 0-0 until half time we would of had more of a chance, but that's football.

Watford make comeback to beat Barnsley

watfordstadium.jpg

Delighted - Watford fans go made as Watford make a superb comeback

Charlie Austin watched on from the stands as he'd just signed for Watford and watched his new team make a fantastic comeback vs Barnsley in an entertaining game of football. In a game where Watford were 1-0 down at half time due to a Paul Dickov penalty, they came back in the 2nd half in tremendous style to win 3-1. After Jon Harley tripped Iain Hume in the box, Paul Dickov stepped up to take the penalty and made it 1-0 to Barnsley at half time in a half that Barnsley had practically dominated, and Watford would have to come out a completely different team to get anything from the game.

Max King must of woken his troops up at half time quite a bit, as they pressured Barnsley all of the 2nd half and finally made the break through when half time substitute Paulo Henrique scored an amazing volley after Keith Fahey's chipped ball over the top of the defence landed on Henrique's boot and was struck sweetly into the corner of the net to send the Watford support mad.

Then the real Watford came out to play, and just 4 minutes later Henrique struck again in not so beautiful fashion when Keith Fahey's free kick was parried by 'keeper Steele into the feet of Henrique who tapped the ball into the back of the net to send Vicarage Road mental and Max King running down the touchline to celebrate with his players. Danny Graham who was a doubt for the game came on for the highly impressive Henrique and in the 82nd minute was given his chance to score from the penalty spot after a foul on Tom Cleverley who was making his return from a long spell on the sidelines, and stepped up with a cool head to make it 3-1 and complete a perfect comeback for Max King's side.

Max King said:
Fantastic 2nd half, I've never seen the lads respond so well to a team talk like that, and I'm delighted as you can tell! It was also great to see Tom Cleverley out there back from a bad injury, he's been class all season and came on today and won us a penalty and I was impressed with him overall.

Mark Robins said:
I'm really gutted to not of got something from this but we'll have to deal with it and they've taken 6 points from us now this season so they've clearly got an edge on us which we need to improve on.

Player of the month

grahampom.jpg

Quality - Graham has proved he's good enough for this divison in just 6 months

Danny Graham has been in great form of late, scoring 4 goals in his last 4 games, and has finally settled at Watford and has found his shooting boots.

Graham was spoken to about his recent form as had this to say..

Danny Graham said:
I'm really happy to receive this award, it shows me that I'm playing well and gives me more confidence aswell. Since the manager started giving out this award between the lads, I've really been motivated in every game I've played in to try my hardest and give 100%, so I guess the gaffer really knows how to get the best out of us.

More updates tomorrow lads (K)

Excellent so far. Danny and Fabrice have been excellent for you. Graham and Austin should be some partnership. Reach the play offs at least!!

You are doing really well pal. I knew if anyone could get Watford up it would be you but there is a long time to go yet. Just keep going and I am sure you will make it. Who knows? You could make an automatic challenge?

I think if Graham and Austin click together straight away we've got a good chance of promotion :)

Cheers mate, I'd be happy to finish 7th if I'm honest, the aim was to consolidate really and I'm overachieving so anything in the top half is good for me, but obviously I'd love to give the play offs a go. :)

Thanks mate, yeah the story format takes a while but I don't mind doing it if I'm honest, I enjoy the writing part and going so in depth, it's quite fun sometimes. ^^) Hopefully we can get the play offs, it's going well so far.

And if your talking about Frankie and his story? I don't have a clue mate, he might be busy. :)

Lol, a bit random but thanks XD

Sensational News Tom Hammond walks out on Watford after Manager Max King calls him a bit random, according to Hammond its not randomness but brilliance.

'Unbelievable Jeff' were chris kamara's words as Hammond walked straight back into Watford just before they had a game. During the game he scored the winner against A Liverpool side unbeaten in 12.

Thats my homecoming present;)

ace stuff this, we can rely on you max.
looking forward to more updates.
