Superb update Max.

Looks great. ^^) Keep it up! :)

Glad to see Bendtner stuffing you ;). Also glad to see Lansbury is the man of the moment. If you can, maybe loan him next year, or, sometimes he doesn't sign a new contract and you can nab him on a free.
I almost cried when he scored a hat trick vs me :'(

& Yeah, hopefully I can get him on loan again or get him on a free like you said which would be quality, I'm hopefully going to do the same with Cleverley :D

Superb update Max.

Looks great. ^^) Keep it up! :)
Cheers Chris (H)

And I'll try and beat them, drew against them not long ago :'(

Performing well in the league. Cleverly seems to be the man at the moment - do you reckon he'd join me at Ariquemes in the brazilian 3rd div? lol. Im impressed by the speed that you are knocking these out max. keep it up

Watford push Blackpool aside with ease in 3-0 thrasing

hollowayd.jpg

Distraught - Holloway is running out of time as manager at the Sea Siders following recent results

Goals from Cristaldo, Graham and Cleverley secured a 3-0 win for Watford in a game they were always going to win with Blackpool unable to keep the ball for a long enough period to create any decent chances, and were insecure defensively. A good win for Watford and this 3-0 win will also increase their goal difference by quite a lot.

Ian Holloway said:
Poor result and performance for us but hopefully we'll bounce back sooner than later and we'll hopefully stay up.

Max King said:
Really pleased with the result and we're finally hitting the back of the net more often, which is quite refreshing for me to see. Hopefully we can keep this up and hopefully Cristaldo and Graham will pick up good form now.

Coventry hold onto draw at the Ricoh Arena

watfordvscoventry.jpg

All even - Both sides went for the win but had to settle for a point in a tough game.

In an even game between Coventry and Watford, both sides had to settle for a fair point. Watford took the lead through in form striker Danny Graham after a slick through ball by Don Cowie got him through on goal to delightfully chip stranded 'keeper Keiran Westwood. Although it didn't take long for Coventry to bounce back as 16 minutes later summer signing Nathan Tyson equalised for Coventry and that's how it stayed at the Ricoh Arena.

Max King said:
It's a good point away from home at the end of the day so I'm pleased and hopefully we can keep up with the pack and give the challenge of finishing in the playoffs a real go.

Chris Coleman said:
It was a good game and I thought we might sneak 3 points here but that's football and sadly things don't always go to plan. Either way, chins up and move on.

Watford scrape win over Reading at Vicarage Road

scottloachsavingvswatfo.jpg

Man of the match - Scott Loach puts in a top class performance for Watford against Reading

Scott Loach was named man of the match vs Reading as he turned out to be the difference between a win and a loss for Watford after a number of world class saves which is sure to attract more interest from big clubs. Watford didn't take the lead until Fabrice Muamba smashed in from 25 yards on the volley which made the Watford fans go mental and even some ran onto the pitch to celebrate with Muamba and the Watford team mates. Reading were unable to find a way past top class performer Scott Loach and it stayed 1-0 to Watford who are now unbeaten in 3 games.

Max King said:
Again a great win for us and Loach was superb today and was just what we needed, well played to him, he is turning into a top class 'keeper but I hope we can hold onto him for a long time.

Glenn Roeder said:
I knew when I took over that it wouldn't be easy and some games we would need luck to win, and today was one of those games where we needed luck and we just didn't get it. Fantastic performance by their 'keeper though, great talent.

Unstoppable Watford continue unbeaten run vs Scunthorpe

dannygrahamcelebratingv.jpg

Star striker - Graham is showing he was worth the bargain £200k Watford paid for him in the summer

Goals from Danny Graham and John Fleck secured a 2-0 win for Watford and continued their new found impressive form since their 3-2 loss to Nottingham Forest. Lately Graham has been on top form and has taken over Tom Cleverley as the club's top scorer, and he added to that scoring tally with an amazing long range effort which curled around 'keeper Joe Murphy and into the back of the net. Scunthorpe were shocked by Graham's goal with just 19 minute gone and failed to really recover all game and conceded a second goal when John Fleck rounded Scunthorpe 'keeper Joe Murphy and tapped into the back of the net with ease. Great win for Watford but pundits are still tipping them not to make the playoffs.

Nigel Adkins said:
Poor result for us and winning home games if how you stay in this division, and if don't do that we can get relegated this season quite easily sadly.

Max King said:
Another good result for us away from home and I'm really happy we're starting to score more as it was a problem at the start of the season, it just shows if we score more goals more often, we can overachieve this season.

Watford demolish lacklustre Q.P.R

jaydemeritwatford.jpg

Born leader - Jay DeMerit didn't put a foot wrong vs Q.P.R and deserved the man of the match award

Watford had been in great form before this game, going 4 games unbeaten and winning 3 of those 4 games, and this was the tip of the iceberg for Watford as they trounced on Q.P.R left, right and centre. Jonathan started the scoring in just the 10th minute after skinning defender Peter Ramage and smashing past Q.P.R 'keeper Radek Cerny. Just 6 minutes later in form Danny Graham scored after a quality showing of strength from the forward shrugged off centre back Kaspar Gorkss to smash in another goal. More goals from DeMerit, Fleck and another from Graham completed the rout and gave Watford an outstanding 5-0 win over troubled Q.P.R.

Max King said:
It was just one of those games where everything went in really, but we did deserve the win and it wasn't lucky really, Q.P.R didn't have a decent chance all game really after we took the lead in the 10th minute. Great win.

Mick Harford said:
We need to take a long hard look at ourselves after this loss, simply not good enough by any standards and changes must be made, and I'll leave myself if I have to so this club is back on track.

Watford brought back down to Earth by Derby

hulsevswatford.jpg

To hot to handle - Rob Hulse was unstoppable vs Watford and got himself 2 goals

Derby target man Rob Hulse bagged himself 2 goals against recently in form side Watford who had gone 5 games unbeaten and won 4 of those 5. Hulse made it 1-0 just before half time with a poachers finish after Loach couldn't hold onto Rob Hulse's initial shot.

It was confirmed that Watford would lose for the first time in 5 games after Rob Hulse sealed the win for Derby in the last minute with a fantastic header that floated into the top corner of the net to give them all 3 points.

Nigel Clough said:
I'm proud of the team today and I think we played really well defensively and we took our chances in attack aswell so it was a perfect win.

Max King said:
Gutted that the unbeaten 5 game run has ended, but that's football and we just need to move on quickly as we've got Plymouth away in 7 days which is a big game.

Cleverley scores only goal to give Watford the 3 points

cleverleyvsplymouth.jpg

Back to form - As they say 'Form is temporary, class is permanent'

Plymouth didn't have enough in the tank to get anything from a resilient Watford side at Home Park. Watford took the lead after just 16 minutes when Tom Cleverley capitalized on a mistake by summer signing Gary Doherty and chipped the ball over 'keeper Roman Larrieu to give Watford the only goal of the game and more importantly 3 priceless points away from home once again.

Player of the season so far

tomcleverleypom.jpg

Top of his game - Cleverley is having the best spell of his career at the moment

With a quality 8 goals and 4 assists in all competitions so far this season, Cleverley has been consistent all season and has always popped up when Watford need him most.
