how do you do the quoting bits for like when you do post-match manager comments? i think that's a brilliant addition to your updates.

All hail Max King!!
You have to keep Cleverley and Muamba. There are class

It's pretty easy tbh, you click on the little speech bubble with the green plus sign on it, and then where it says "
", just before the end bracket, you type "=Max King" or whatever name you want there.

So..

DeMerit rallies troops in bid for financial survival

demeritwatford.jpg

Crucial - Whether Watford get promoted or not could change if they go bust or not

Jay DeMerit has told his team mates to 'man up' and win promotion for Watford this season to improve the dire financial situation at the club. Watford sit in 3rd place only two points behing 2nd placed Middlesbrough and have the best chance of promotion they've had since they were relegated from the Premier league in 2006/2007, and DeMerit says it would be a massive disappointment to let the chance go by.

Jay DeMerit said:
I think we all need to wake up and realise how important this season is for Watford FC. We've worked really hard this season to get where we are, and so has the manager, we've seen players come in this January and a few leave, and the manager is trying to give 100% to this club so we need to return the favour for the rest of the season and try and get promoted. Of course, finishing in the play offs would still help the club a lot, but I think whilst automatic promotion is an option we've gotta go for it 100%.

More updates later with match updates. ^^)

Great update. Good layout and it's good to see you are relating to off the pitch matters as well :)

Watford are running out of money lol :) dont worry im sure you'll get promoted then your sorted :)

Late Cleverley strike gives Watford 3 points

cleverleyvssheffield.jpg

Shock - Cleverley comes off the bench to give Watford all 3 points

Sheffield United will of been gutted as they lost a game where they dominated throughout but got nothing from the game. Watford defended fantastically well all game to stop the Blades from scoring, and their hard work was rewarded in the 67th minute when Tom Cleverley got on the end of a Keith Fahey cross with a diving header to send the Watford support mad and around 7 fans ran onto the pitch to celebrate with their players.

Sheffield United gave 100% in last final 20 minutes but just couldn't find a way through the solid Watford backline and left the game with nothing. A great result for Watford which increases their promotion hopes.

Kevin Blackwell said:
A bit annoyed we didn't get anything from the game because I think we were the better team but it's these sort of games you need to bounce back from so I just hope we can quickly.

Max King said:
Quite unbelievable performance defensively, probably the best we've played defensively all season. Good to see us nicking a win away from home against a good team like this, keeps the spririt between me and the lads up.

Wednesday knock Watford out of the FA Cup

facupj.jpg

Down for the count - Watford can now focus on the league more

In a game where the level of entertainment was low, Sheffield Wednesday knocked Watford out of the cup as Watford fielded a weakened side to rest players for their upcoming league game vs Preston. The score was 0-0 at half time after a boring half with no real chance for either side, but Sheffield Wednesday came out a different side 2nd half and went 1-0 up when Luke Varney headered home to put Sheffield ahead in the 67th minute. The score stayed at 1-0 and a weakened Watford side were knocked out comfortably by Sheffield Wednesday.

Alan Irvine said:
I'm pleased to go through to the next round, I think we deserved it and we can build on from here hopefully in the league and in the cup.

Max King said:
Before the match I just told the lads to give it 100%, and they did that but sadly we weren't really strong enough to beat Sheffield Wednesday today, but overall I was pleased with the effort shown by the lads.

Bore draw at Vicarage Road

watfordvspreston.jpg

Yawn - And the award for worst football match of the century goes to..

Watford and Preston both cancelled each other out for the whole 90 minutes in this Championship head to head clash with two teams fighting for promotion and playoffs playing each other. Preston striker Neil Mellor had a few good chances in the first half but was extremely wasteful infront of goal and was eventually subbed at half time.

In the second half Watford had more of the ball but found it hard to break down Preston's strong and organised defence and the score stayed at 0-0 in a game where both teams will of been reasonably happy with a point.

Darren Ferguson said:
A good result for us as we were away from home against a good side who were 3rd so I'm pleased and I've got confidence in my squad now.

Max King said:
A little bit unlucky not to get a win but that's football and I know we'll bounce back like always, but in all honesty this is a good result as Preston are a good side with a great manager.

Austin and Graham kill off Leicester

austinvsleicester.jpg

Partners in crime - New signing Austin gets his first goal for Watford to give them the win

The partnership of Austin and Graham finally clicked against a helpess Leicester team who couldn't handle the two of them upfront. Leicester took the lead in this game when Yann Kermorgant scored a beautiful curling shot from the edge of the box to silence the Watford fans who had been singing for the first 20 minutes before they went 1-0 down, but they were soon cheering again when Charlie Austin equalised just before the break with a shot smashed into the bottom left corner of the net to give him his first Watford goal.

The second half was all Watford as they came out looking for a winner to keep them on track for the play offs, and in the 83rd minute after a number of great saves by Leicester City 'keeper Chris Weale, Watford took the lead with a spectacular over head kick by Danny Graham to give them the lead and left Leicester manager Nigel Pearson applauding the amazing acrobatics of Watford top scorer Danny Graham.

A great win for Watford and their fantastic away record continues.

Nigel Pearson said:
I'm quite frustrated we through away a point here, but the goal was really something special but we could of defended better in the build up play to the goal.

Max King said:
Really pleased with the comeback by the players, and in the end we deserved the 3 points. It was good to see Austin score for us today for the first time, it's a big step up for him and I'm pleased he's got that all important first goal for himself.

No screenshot of the league table lads as I went a bit ahead of myself and played 6 games, but there will be one later. :) (A)

Unlucky in the Fa cup buddy, but still looking good in the league :)

Cheers mate.

Updates sometime later today.

Cheers pete and Samillyroy :)

I'll be doing an end of season update later, as I've kind of accidentally gone too far ahead of myself and I played about 9 games instead of 4 without thinking, so I'll just update at the end of the season, sorry lads :S
