We Are Tottenham, SUPER TOTTENHAM!

May 2011

Premier League
Tottenham 1 - 1 Stoke
(Defoe)
The formation of 4-4-2 fluid standard looked good today and Spurs took the lead through Jermain Defoe but mid way through the second half Stoke equalised and the formation didnt look like Tottenham would get anything more than a draw from the game.

Premier League
Burnley 3 - 1 Tottenham
(Modric)
Spurs changed to Goals Galore 2010 v9 today and it was a complete disaster. Manager Saunt has decided not to use the tactic again and try to develop his own more detailed 4-4-2 tactic.

The season has drew to a close and Tottenham only managed a 7th placed finish. A clear-out of the reserve team who have been out on loan this season is expected and also investment into the youth academy with some promising players being scouted since Saunt's arrival on day 1. Next season a top 4 finish is a must for the club to move foward therefore a big name signing upfront will be crucial but can Spurs find the right man.

Player of the Season - Luka Modric
Luka Modric has been named Saunt's no.1 player this season. He made 50 appearances in Spurs' 60 game season, scoring 15 goals and assisting 18. He picked up the Man of the Match award 7 times and overall has an average rating of 7.22.

A Summer of News (2011)

Kudus Oyenuga, Harry Kane, Cameron Lancaster, Paul McBride, Alex Pritchard, Jesse Waller-Lassen and Ryan Frederick have all failed to win professional contracts at Tottenham and have left the club after their youth contracts expired.

In retirement news, Goalkeeping coach Pat Jennings has set his retirement date as well as Veteran Goalkeeper Jimmy Walker. Jennings will leave the club on the 27th May 2012 and Walker, 30th June 2012.

The European Club Rankings have been announced and Tottenham have moved up 11 places to 21st overall in the table. The participation in the Europa League was a big contribution to the rise but it will most likely drop next season with Tottenham being out of all European competition.

Tottenham's deal with main kit sponser Mansion has run out and a new deal with FourFourTwo has been announced for the next 5 years. The deal is worth £3m per annum which exceeds the previous deal which was worth £1m per annum.

The Tottenham supporters club have named Luka Modric as the Fans Player of the Year. The Croatian play-maker was dazzling all through the 2010/11 season and the fans will expect more of the same for the new campaign.

Tottenham announce link with MK Dons. The deal will mean Spurs can send players on loan to MK Dons with Spurs paying the wages and annual friendlies can be hosted by MK Dons at Stadium MK with all profits going to MK Dons.

The rich list saw Tottenham drop 2 places to 17th. The drop has had an effect on the clubs transfer and wage budget which have also been confirmed.
Transfer Budget - £1.6m
Wage Budget - £1m p/w

Kevin Bond (Assistant Manager) has left the club along with Anton Blackwood and Sam *** as their contracts with the club expire. Chris Saunt decided that Kevin Bond wasnt worth the wages that Kevin Bond was asking for which is throught to be as much as £12k per week. Petter Rudi has moved to Sheff Utd so Spurs have lost their scout specialising in Scandanavia but did get a £60k compensation package from the deal.

Manager Chris Saunt has been offerd a contract extension which he duly accepted. The deal will extend Saunt's stay at White Hart Lane until June 2013. Saunt previously had 12 months left on his contract. Defender Michael Dawson told Spurs-Web he was happy that Saunt will be staying at the North London club because he thought that Saunt had proved himself to be a good manager.

Thank You, Im going to give Nicolas Otamendi a more permanent role in the team this season rather than Ledley King. Otamendi and Verratti + Sissoko are tipped to be leading stars in the premier league and ive got a few decent prospects in reserves so the futures bright. I need a striker though but ive only raised 6m and i need to keep the wages down! Any suggestions for a ST, worth around £10m-£15m? Possibly plays well as a lone striker cause i like my 5 man midfield, pretty strong with the base of a good back 4.

Transfer Update

Starting with Transfers out of the club. It was expected that Spurs will clear out many of the reserve team players and that has been the case.

Paul Jose Mpoku - Colchester - Free
Roman Pavlyuchenko - Fiorentina - £2.5m
Adel Taarabt - Hull - £1m
Steven Caulker - Bournemouth - Free
Dean Parrett - Celtic - Free
Ben Alnwick - Nottm Forest - Free
Ryan Mason - Rochdale - Free
Dorian Dervite - Hull - £500k
Radwan Hamed - Doncaster - Free
Jake Livermore - Kilmarnock - Free
Adam Smith - Bradford - £100k
Jonothan Obika - Bristol Rovers - Free
Oscar Jansson - Motherwell - £10k
Troy Archibald-Henville - Bradford - £100k
Robbie Keane - Liverpool - £5m
Jermaine Jenas - Liverpool - £7.5m
Kyle Walker - Ipswich - £1.5m
Zaine Francis-Angol - MK Dons - Loan (End of Season)
John Bostock - Wolves - Loan (End of Season)
Tomas Pekhart - Charlton - Loan (6 months)
Danny Rose - Birmingham - Loan (6 months)
Giovani Dos Santos - Everton - Loan (£1.5m Ln Fee) (End of Season)
Mirko Ranieri - Bornemouth - Free

Many of the players sold had potential to be good Championship and League 1 players in the future which ment they were surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane. Big names Robbie Keane and Jermaine Jenas joined Liverpool for a combined £12.5m and Kyle Walker went to Ipswich for £1.5m. Particually pleasing was the sales of Adam Smith and Troy Archibald-Henville to Bradford for a total of £200k which means the Academy is turning over a small profit. Transfer to Hull City for Adel Taarabt and Dorian Dervite earned a cool £1.5m.

Now for the Transfers into the club so far,

Mihai Vasile - FC Timisoara - £250k
This promising regen player played against Spurs twice in the Europa League campaign and was largely impressive. At just 18 years of age, The player has the potential to be a decent Premier League player in the future.

Sergio Busquets - Barcelona - £3.5m
Many clubs were interested in Sergio Busquets but Tottenham won the race to sign the Defensive Midfielder. It was his arrival that sparked the sale of Jermaine Jenas to Liverpool which made a profit of £4m for Spurs and a good move for Jermaine to futher his career.

Rumours around White Hart Lane
Rumours around White Hart Lane suggest that Chris Saunt is ready to do a deal to sign highly rated pacey Argentine winger Eduardo Salvio for a reported £5m. With Aaron Lennon, David Beckham and David Bentley already at the club would this be a good move?. After the sales of players the club has raised around £15m but their seems to be problems around the Tottenham camp as the manager is only rumoured to be allowed to spend £6m due to loan repayments despite Saunt slashing the wage bill now that Woodgate, Keane and Jenas have all left the club and Beckham and King have signed lower contracts.

Pre-Season (July)

July is the month where all the players return from their holidays to get back to the business of getting Tottenham Hotspur into the UEFA Champions League. The Pre-Season fixture list is as follows:
(India Tour) East Bengal
(India Tour) Mahindra Utd
(Away) Boston Utd
(Home) FC Bayern Munich
(Home) Fiorentina

New Assistant Manager At Spurs
Tottenham have secured the services of Steve Harrison as the Assistant Manager from Coventry City. As part of the deal Coventry City will recieve a £600k compensation payment to pay off the rest of Mr.Harrisons contract. Chris Saunt previously had Kevin Bond as his Assistant Manager but Bond left have Spurs didnt agree to his contractual terms.

India Tour
East Bengal 0 - 6 Tottenham (Defoe 3; Modric; Di Maria; Kranjcar)
A good start to pre-season but not as inventive as Spurs can be but in this first game of pre-season its always nice to score 6 and keep a clean sheet.

India Tour
Mahindra Utd 0 - 7 Tottenham (Modric; Crouch; Defoe 4; Kranjcar)
2 out of 2 for the tour of India for Spurs. Jermain Defoe smashes 4 goals in a dominant display. Should probably have been alot more yet again but Spurs will settle for 7 heaven.

Friendly
Boston Utd 0 - 5 Tottenham (Lukaku 2; Di Maria; Modric(Pen); Beckham)
Lukaku looked very sharp upfront. The striker is now still only 18 years of age and is very strong and good in the air. Chris Saunt has decided not to keep the young man in the reserve team this year and promote him to the senior playing squad.

Injury News
Ledley King will miss the start of the season. The central defender over exherted himself in the weights room and suffered a slipped disk which will keep him out for 3 months.

Transfer News

Gareth Bale - Real Madrid - £6.75m

Saunt Angered at Bale Transfer
Young welsh left back Gareth Bale completed his move to Real Madrid today and stated that he was sad to part with Chris Saunt. Chris Saunt has played Gareth Bale almost every game since he arrived 2 seasons ago. He is angered that the transfer of Gareth Bale went through without his approval. Daniel Levy who is the Tottenham Hotspur chairman accepted the deal on behalf of the club saying the deal was too good to turn down. Saunt, fuming as he left the Tottenham training ground told Levy he was stupid to let the deal go through as Bale had a future at the club and could have brought in a lot more revenue if Chris Saunt could have negoiated the transfer.

Eduardo Salvio - Lanus - £5m

Salvio deal complete
Tottenham Hotspur have completed the deal to bring in Eduardo Salvio from Lanus after he passed his medical at Spurs training ground. Chris Saunt said he will not be playing in tonights match against Bayern Munich at White Hart Lane but will be in the squad to face Fiorentina in Tottenham's last pre-season match at the start of August.

Eduardo Salvio

Friendly
Tottenham 0 - 0 FC Bayern
A very good defensive display and a perfect match to see if Spurs had the capability to win against certainly a big team. Many games last season Spurs didnt win all important big games and it proved to be the case again as they thrashed out a boring 0-0 draw.

July Finances

Too bad you struggled and you couldn't get in Champions League, looking forward to your story mate, may you post a Screenshot of your team? :D

August 2011

August means the start of the Premier League but for Tottenham they still had 1 pre-season fixture before playing Sunderland away on the opening day.

Friendly
Tottenham 2 - 2 Fiorentina (Salvio, Verratti)
Tottenham came back twice to earn a respectable draw. Eduardo Salvio scored the first leveler on his debut for Spurs. The game looked to be lost but a fabulous free-kick from Marco Verratti 15 minutes from time ment Spurs had earned a draw at least.

Transfer Update
In

Jeremy Helan - Man City - £1.5m

A good prospect for the future. Scouting reports suggests he will be a good left back in the future but will surely be back-up for Benoit Assou-Ekotto this season.

LEAGUE CUP 2ND ROUND DRAW

Tottenham Tactics
I have decided to adapt my own tactics for the season. Using a 4-5-1 formation with such a fantastic midfield i feel i have then it would be a crime not to give them all games.
Gomes (Default)
Corluka (Full Back - Auto)
Otamendi (Central - Stopper)
Bassong (Central - Stopper)
Assou-Ekotto (Full Back - Auto)
Sissoko (Anchor Man - Defend)
Busquets (Ball Winning Mid - Defend)
Modric (Adv Playmaker - Attack)
Lennon (Winger - Attack)
Di Maria (Ins Foward - Attack)
Defoe (Adv Foward)

I wont release the player instuctions as yet but for corners ive got 2 standing on the posts (1near-1far), 2 attacking the posts (1near-1far), 1 attacking the ball, 1 challenging the keeper and also 1 lurking. Only leaves 2 back to defend from counter attacks. (unless ive missed 1)

SEASON 2011-12 KICKS OFF

Premier League
Sunderland 1 - 1 Tottenham (Lukaku)
Romelu Lukaku comes off the bench to rescue a draw after Darren Bent put Sunderland infront against his old side in the first half. Salvio started and performed well. The Spurs manager would have liked to have won this game with Man Utd and Arsenal in the next 2 games.

Premier League
Tottenham 0 - 1 Man Utd
Unlucky Spurs lose against United. Tottenham really took the game to Man Utd and came close on many occasions but just couldnt find the net.

Premier League
Arsenal 0 - 1 Tottenham (Crouch)
A tremendous win in the North London Derby for Tottenham. It looked to be in doubt with Spurs being put under heavy pressure in the last 10 minutes and Robin Van Persie had a goal chalked off in the 89th minute and a frustrated Vermalaen then recieved a second yellow for a foul on Wilson Palacios. Elation for Spurs Fans!

League Cup 2nd Round
Barnet 0 - 2 Tottenham (Lukaku, Otamendi)
A complete dominance victory for Spurs which obviously wasnt unexpected against a League 2 side. Spurs rotated their team which saw Naughton, Helan (Debut), Huddlestone, Verratti, Bentley, Salvio and Lukaku all get starts and were largely impressive.

League Cup 3rd Round Draw
Wigan v Tottenham

Premier League
Stoke 0 - 1 Tottenham (Bentley)
Tottenham got a crucial win on the bounce late on through David Bentley. Spurs' tactics are really kicking in well with dangerous corner routines and a controlling midfield. Should Spurs sign a 30 goal a season striker, This side could really achieve new heights.

Delighted with my start to the season. Not too displeased now with the draw at Sunderland, Their abit of a boggy team for me specially away from home. Its a midlands 1,2 with Wolves and West Brom making suprisingly good starts. My next game is against Wolves to a chance to level them on points.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH - ROMELU LUKAKU
Jermain Defoe is not suiting the lone striker role at all. Romelu Lukaku has scored 1 in the league and 1 in the cup so far and has looked a real threat upfront. At just 18 it would be unfair to start him every game and put pressure on him to get the goals but he is really shining so far.

thanks mate ... erm im on the original patch, i tend not to download patches cause sometimes i do games where i just buy to update the squad anyway lol. Gudjohnson and Kaboul not really great on fm though. Sandro (joining in July if ppl didnt no) is but i cant really fit him in at the moment.
Hope everyones enjoying the story so far:P

Haha alright, i asked purely because Lukaku is a beast on the new patch. I can only speak for myself but your story is great. Great layout and very comprehensive; the way they obviously like it here.

Good luck :)

Regen Transfers

Tottenham have secured the signings of 2 Regen players. The pair will both move to White Hart Lane in January after signing just after the summer window.

Stephen Cook (GK) - Newcastle - £50k
James Bootby (DM) - Norwich - £250k

Both players are just 16 years old and are predicted to become good Premier League players in the future. If they work hard in training and perform well in the U18 and Reserve leagues then maybe they can force their way into the Tottenham team. If they dont quite make it into the Tottenham side then Spurs will look to sell/loan the players and it will prove to be good business for the club. The current Spurs Academy doesnt seem to have very good potential so these are welcome signings for U18 Coach John McDermott.

September 2011

With a bright start in August could Spurs keep it going despite a dissapointing first game of September.

Premier League
Wolves 1 - 0 Tottenham
Very unlucky in a game Spurs dominated but couldnt find the goal. And as is football if you dont score the opposition will pop up and steal it and thats what Wolves did late on.

Premier League
Tottenham 2 - 0 QPR (Lukaku, Bentley)
The game started brilliantly for Spurs when Romelu Lukaku scored. Spurs were now on track for a win which would be a fantastic reaction after the Wolves defeat. At half time Romelu Lukaku went off with an injury and Jermain Defoe came on. It was Defoe in the 90th minute who put through David Bentley on the counter attack as QPR pushed everyone up, Bentley ran the length of the half and then beat the keeper for a great 2-0 win.

League Cup 3rd Round
Wigan 0 - 1 Tottenham (Defoe)
A very quick start to the game ment Jermain Defoe bagged his first goal of the season. Tottenham will now go into the hat for the 4th round draw.

League Cup 4th Round Draw
Tottenham v Man City

Premier League
Tottenham 0 - 1 Chelsea
This was Tottenham third 1-0 loss of the season and much the same storyline of not putting the ball between the goalposts and getting a point stolen away. It could have been different if an Otamendi header win in on 8 minutes rather than coming off the post but it wasnt to be, Next up Liverpool.

So Tottenham lie 10th after the first 2 months of the season. After Liverpool, Tottenham will have played 4 of the top 5 so will nearly need to push on and with the tactics they employ you would back them with dominance of possession and dangerous corners being a perfect match. They have the ability to thread a deadly pass so if the Tottenham strikers strike clinically then more wins will come.

Player of the Month - David Bentley
David Bentley has most been used off the bench so far this season but has made big impacts in games in which hes featured. He scored a brilliant goal against QPR which delighted manager Chris Saunt.

October 2011

So after a couple of wins and a couple of draws in September, What would October have in stall? Liverpool away kicked off the month...

Premier League
Liverpool 1 - 0 Tottenham
A really good match and Tottenham matched Liverpool all the way through but were stunned in the 88th minute when Liverpool's Fernando Torres struck in a late winner for the Reds. Another unlucky 1-0 defeat for Spurs.

Injury Update
Ledley King has recovered from a slipped disk in pre-season to make his return to training. Romelu Lukaku was injured in last months clash with QPR but has now returned to training. The international break cost Spurs only the 1 faller. Sebastian Prodl will miss a couple of weeks of action as he picked up a knock.

Premier League
West Brom 0 - 0 Tottenham
A bore draw after an international break isnt too bad considering West Brom's bright start to the season. Tottenham will consider it as 2 points dropped though in the race for the Champions League.

Premier League
Tottenham 1 - 0 Blackburn (Lennon)
It takes a while for Tottenham to break down teams at White Hart Lane but it does usually happen so far this season. Aaron Lennon the match winner.

League Cup 4th Round
Tottenham 2 - 1 Man City (Lennon, Crouch) (AET)
Gomes spilt what would normally be a routine save to the feet of Carlos Tevez to give Spurs a dreadful start to this League Cup clash. But not long after the half hour, Aaron Lennon bagged his 2nd goal in 3 days to get Spurs back on level terms. The second half was a nail biter but no team could find the net so the game went into Extra-Time. Peter Crouch came on in the second half with Jermain Defoe on the left and that was causing Man City real problems. On 103 minutes Peter Crouch stole the ball of Shay Given to give Spurs a 2-1 advantage. They thought they had scored a third and a Peter Crouch second but the ref blew up for a foul on the City keeper. Spurs strong back four held out and Spurs where through to the Quarter-Finals of the League Cup once again. Nicolas Otamendi was outstanding in todays game and he was the un-sung man of the match.

League Cup Quarter-Final Draw
Tottenham v Chelsea

Premier League
Newcastle 1 - 2 Tottenham (Defoe(Pen), Modric)
A Jermain Defoe penalty gave Spurs the lead in the first half before Luka Modric scored a screamer from the edge of the area to put them 2-0 infront. The second half was dominated by Spurs but in the 3rd minute of added time, Coloccini headed in what proved to be a conselation goal.

October 2011 Stats

One of the strongest defences in the Premier League and a controlling, creative midfield has Spurs up in 7th spot as things are. A 100% record through November will really boost Spurs ambitions of winning the Champions League place or maybe higher. So far only Man Utd, Wolves, Chelsea and Liverpool have beaten Spurs and only by a narrow 1-0 margin.

Player of the Month - Aaron Lennon
Aaron Lennon has been a joy to watch in the Premier League this season. Direct running and consistantly putting in a shift for Spurs has earned him Managers choice, POTM. Important goals in the EPL won Spurs 3 points and an important goal in the LC got Spurs into extra-time where they went on to win. A brilliant month for Aaron.

October Finances
