DOUBLE DUTCH AS HAWKINS TAKES OVER

Surprising news has come out of Amsterdam today, with the KNVB announcing Rotherham United manager Matthew Hawkins as their new chief

Hawkins, 26, has a burgeoning reputation in world football having taken Rotherham United to a Europa League win and, more recently, a win in the UEFA Super Cup, defeating PSG on penalties

That win is believed to be the "straw that broke the camel's back" in terms of Holland contacting Hawkins, with the Welshman having already turned down Euro hosts Italy and European champions France

Hawkins is the latest in a long line of managers looking to bring success to the Dutch national team, who haven't won a major competition since the Iron Curtain fell, with their one and only major competition win coming in the then West Germany when they beat the then USSR in the Euro 88 final

We asked you if you think Hawkins will be the man to bring success to Dutch football
