View attachment 1120936

Rotherham United will be pleased to have come through a festive period featuring trips to Anfield, the Etihad Stadium, the Olympic Stadium and Stamford Bridge as well as a trip to St Mary's and a home game against Sunderland

Rotherham picked up 8 points from a possible 18 in what was a very tough run of 6 games, the Millers beat Sunderland 2-0 as well as a last minute 2-1 win over Manchester City

This Was supplemented by draws away to West Ham and Southampton as well as a 4-2 loss to Liverpool at Anfield

The Millers also conspired to throw away a 1-0 lead in the final 10 minutes against Chelsea, losing 2-1 at Stamford Bridge

FIVE JOIN AS MILLERS STRUGGLE THROUGH JANUARY
View attachment 89535

The Premier League's surprise package of the season so far, Rotherham United, have not welcomed the new year at all well, with the club struggling on the pitch

The Millers managed just 2 league wins from 5 "winnable league games" as well as one win in two FA Cup games

Despite this pessimism, Rotherham didn't lose a game, drawing with Leeds, Norwich and Newcastle, as well as an FA Cup draw with West Brom

The Millers also managed a memorable 3-0 win over South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday as well as a tense 3-2 victory over Stoke

Rotherham brought in five players, although none of them are set to be first team regulars

MILLERS BREAK TRANSFER RECORD ONCE AGAIN
View attachment 1121196

Every transfer window, it seems, comes coupled with the news that Rotherham United have broken their transfer record and this year its no different

The Millers have broken their transfer record with the £17.5m purchase of Kristijan Tomasic from Dinamo Zagreb

The 18 year old, who won the Golden Boot as Croatia finished as runners-up in the recent European Under 21 Championship, was an integral part of Dinamo's title defence lat season scoring 14 goals in 28 games as Dinamo won their 16th consecutive title

The striker, who was given his debut for Croatia by Rafa Benitez against Bosnia, has also bagged 26 goals in 25 games for Croatia Under 21s
View attachment 89340

The Millers have also brought in midfielder Paul Robinson from Ipswich Town for a fee of £750,000

MILLERS BRING IN BARCA DUO
View attachment 89333

Rotherham United have today made a huge statement by bringing in a duo from Spanish giants Barcelona

The first to come in was Polish defender Mateusz Golla from Barcelona on a free transfer

Golla, 21, has 12 caps for Poland but never made an appearance for Barcelona following his £1.3m move from Lech Poznan

A broken leg limited the youngster's development at Barca and put Rotherham off buying him from Poznan three years ago
View attachment 89332

The second player to come in came with a fee, that fee being £8.75m with the Millers buying defensive midfielder Franck Kessie from the Nou Camp club

Kessie, 24, joined Barca for £27m from Atalanta three years ago but found his chances limited at the Nou Camp, making just 26 league appearances for the Catalan club

The Ivorian, who has 12 goals in 57 appearances for his country, is said to be looking forward to his role with his new club

FLURRY OF ACTIVITY AT NEW YORK STADIUM
View attachment 89302

There has been a flurry of activity at the New York Stadium over the past few weeks as Rotherham continue to bolster their squad ahead of the coming season

The Millers, who will face FC Schalke in a Champions League Playoff in just over a week's time have been hard at work bolstering their squad by bringing in a quartet of players, the first of which being Mark Noble on a free transfer

Noble, 34, had spent almost his entire career at West Ham before being released in July and the England international spent just a month looking for a club before being snapped up by the Millers

With 2 England caps and 461 league appearances for West Ham to his name the Hammers legend is sure to be a great addition to Hawkins' squad
View attachment 89301

Next up was Danish goalkeeper Patrick Jensen who's joined from FC Copanhagen for £5.5m

Rotherham have become a hotbed of goalkeeping talent over the years, with Marc Currie and internationals Jean-Jacques Bah and Roman Adamec being contracted to the club however that trio are out on loan at present at Rangers, Celta Vigo and MK Dons respectively so a backup to Pickford was required

Jensen, 19, fit the bill with the Danish international making 18 appearances last season for FC Copenhagen
View attachment 89300

The third in the door was an unknown figure in Jorge Salcedo, a right winger from Paraguay

The Millers' extensive scouting range has allowed them to spot players early and this is no different with the teenager arriving from Cerro Porteno for £925,000

He already has 7 Under 20 caps for his country and the Millers are hoping he will develop as well as many in Paraguay believe he will
View attachment 89299

And last but not least is Kevin O'Neill, who's joined from Nottingham Forest for £1.8m

O'Neill, 21, came through the ranks at Crumlin United before being snapped up by Forest, for whom he made 21 league appearances

The Irish Under 21 international will offer cover for first team regular Kieran Tierney for the coming campaign

MILLERS BAG ANOTHER WONDERKID
View attachment 89158

Rotherham has become the home of wonderkids over the past few years, with the South Yorkshire club boasting some of the hottest talents in world football, including local lads Paul Smith, Louis Ekangamene and Joe Crossley as well as a wealth of others including internationals Jake Andrews, Craig Young and Richard Williams

They have added to this, by bringing in the hottest prospect in Dutch football and one of the hottest prospects in world football, having signed midfielder Vincent Kruithof from Dutch giants Feyenoord for the princely sum of £16m

Kruithof, 18, made 47 appearances for Feyenoord after joining them from Excelsior as a youngster, grabbing 3 goals and 11 assists for the Rotterdam club

Kruithof is currently away on international duty with the Netherlands, having jetted in and out of South Yorkshire to join Rotherham, and is expected to make his Netherlands debut against Greece on Wednesday
