Still stuck playing Wasteland. The writing in this game is so goood. I went into the whorehouse checking what's on offer. First room has a girl. Second room has a girl. I open the 3rd room...there's a goat in it. It looks at me and goes BAAAAAAA like its inviting me. I lost it. So I went to talk to the pimp to see what the **** is going on, and he says "Man, with all this radiation its hard finding people to work. One of our girls has 3 ****". I'm about 50 hours in and still plenty to do.

(also, the goat doesn't actually perform any services, so stop unziping)

Next I have Endless Legend lined up, seems like quite innovative turn based strategy. Graphics are quite good too.

Endless Legend is very good have you had any CTDs? I keep getting them after around 70 turns posted a bug report on their forum not heard anything as of yet though. I really like it though debating whether to pick up Endless Space which they also did as I just can't get into Distant Worlds at all.

I need to start getting through Wasteland 2 just haven't been able to fully get into yet but I really wanna see the goat now!

Yeah, it does CTD quite a bit. Not that much of a problem since you can auto save every turn, but still annoying.

Just got myself a PS4 and playing The Last of Us....WOW! I have heard rave reviews about this game and it certainly hasnt disappointed so far

I'm probably going to get Alien: Isolation. Most reviews say the xenomorph's AI is exactly as was advertised by the developers, with from what I've seen only IGN slating the game but no one cares about them anyway.

Played it at mates house, and it's the Alien game that's been wanted for so long. The atmosphere, the graphics, music-even the sounds-it's like being in the movie. And yes-the game scared the absolute **** out of me a **** of a lot more than Amnesia Dark Descent ever could. The game literally destroys your emotions and makes you a nervous wreck. Well it did me anyway.

Just turn off the lights, put on your headphones and prepare for a **** of a ride.

Sidenote-some people experienced motion sickness, which apparently may be linked to the visual special effects (when you look at your motion tracker the distance goes all blurry to simulate realistic vision). Just something to be aware of

Well, I just went to get it from Tesco and they haven't even got it on the shelves yet. They've got the 360 version, but not the One. They've still got the little pre-order cards for it. It came out last week, and I couldn't even see a space where they've had it on display and just sold out.

Most of the modern horrors I played have a massive design flaw - they just never back off the intensity even for a few minutes. Its always nearly constant flood of monsters jumping down your throat, and attacking your senses with agressive sounds and lightening effects. At first its scary as ****, after a while its sort of meh, and eventually after few hours you just block it all out and the game becomes about as terrifying as an episode of Teletubbies.

Amnesia was amazing because you didn't even see the first monster for like first 90 minutes. The spooky moments were inteligentlly pacing and building on top each other, and eventually when the real danger appeared I nearly shat myself.

I once played Amnesia at 4 in the morning after having been awake for a day and a half.

newp

Would anyone like faster than light advanced edition for free got an extra copy so free to good home ;)

Tried playing Endless Legend again, pretty dissapointed with it. On first glance it looked so innovative and complex, but once I've done several playthroughs it turns out its quite the opposite. There's barely any depth to the game at all, factions are bland and generic, AI is poor, every playthrough is pretty much the same. Anyone even remotely experienced with 4x games will quickly find a way to beat this game consistently.

It was the same problem with Endless Space. These guys definitely know how to make awesome graphics and fantastic UI, but they sure as **** don't know a first thing about designing good strategy game.

Just got a free copy of X-Com Enemy Unkown from Green Man Gaming (for voting in Golden Joystick Awards), so shall be giving it a bit of a blast. See what I've missed out on.

The Master Chief Collection of Halo is out in three weeks. I've never played any of the games all the way through so I'm excited for this.

Amyone getting Civ Beyond Earth? Think that I will, my working week is a bit mental so only get to play EU4 once a week now because of my syle of play :( I've always been able to just pick up and play civ quite easily even when tired and will be ok for the work commute. Was just wondering if anyone else was considering it and what thoughts was?

Haven't read enough about new Civ Beyond Earth to make an informed decision yet. I hope they droped or tried to work around some of the bad design choices that plagued Civ V. Especially the decisions to move to hex maps and one-unit-per-tile had enormous and not always pleasant consequences on all aspects of the game.

Civ V was a great for casual strategy gamers but even with expansions it didn't have nearly enough depth to make it fun on higher difficulty levels. Hopefully they improved that a bit with BE. It would also be good if they shook all of the game systems a bit, so you can't just go into it with blind eyes, use old strategies from Civ V and be immediately successful.

I'm sure BE will provide great 'just one more turn' experience for couple of weeks, because the series was always great at thath.

Its just that I probably have like 500h+ played in Civ 4 and I really miss that experience dearly, but Civ V didn't really do it for me, so I need my hardcore-4x'ing fix :P

Played Civ:BE a bit. There are some good new ideas in the game, but overall its far too close to Civ V. For example, so what that resources have now sci-fi names , if the resource system is nearly identical? If I have a resource within my borders, I know I should most likely upgrade the tile. There's nothing new to figure out here. Most of the game plays like this. I managed to trump all over AI in my first playthrough - granted that was just Normal difficulty, but still.

One great thing they've done is all units upgrade automatically now to the best possible version. I love it. Manually micromanaging the upgrades was such a chore and of course it would ruin your economy, so late game you sometims had fights Spearmen vs. Tanks or something equally silly.

Balance of the game is also way off, city spamming is basically the best available strategy. I know that will probably be adjusted with patches. But seriously, that tactic goes back all the way to Civ 1. I don't know how such an experienced studio lets something like this slip by.

Overall I gotta say the game doesn't seem worth the price at this point - best to wait for some patches and possibly an expansion.
