Well, it's safe to say that I'm renaming Alien Isolation the "Nope!" simulator. Playing in the dark, hard difficulty and max volume in headset and at first I was enjoying it with some proper Alien atmosphere and looks:

Then it quickly became the "Nope! Nope! Nope!" simulator

Seriously, so far, this game beats Amnesia Dark Descent for the fear factor. It is creepy as ****, and with all the background noise and other effects, it's actually at the point I've just had to stop for a "tea break". Atmospheric as ****, great job by the developers in capturing the feeling of dread from the Alien movie. But my god it's scarey as ****.

Edit-apologies for poor screen shot positioning. Something had a ***** fit somewhere and I couldn't change anything

If anybody is looking into playing Witcher 3, don't. Wait a few months. There's metric fuckton of technical problems with the game right now, most of them are minor, but together they build up into quite an annoyance. And I don't mean bugs, there's not many of those, but the interface and controls are completely half-assed right now.

For some reason none of this stuff is reported by gaming media, they're too busy wanking over graphics and story.

And they're not wrong - the graphics are mindblowing, there's so much variables and detail in the enviroment, the world actually feels alive. Forr the first time in my life when I ride in to the forest, it nearly feels like I'm in the ******* forest, and not into bunch of polygons and textures.

The story so far is brilliant too. But not worth ruining all that with the many technical issues.

UCFL

The game I am playing at the moment is UCFL (UCFL). It is effectively an online football manager game but with real managers.

It runs on a software called ESMS, which is essentially a DOS based software that puts two teamsheets in and spits out a text file with a match report.

This one is run weekly (although approaching the end of the season) with league games on a sunday, and other competitions being run on Wednesday evenings. You can literally do as little or as much as you like, with the only compulsory element being sending in a teamsheet for the games you are involved.

The have a set of interleague competitions with some other leagues which is a nice touch, and they also have a foreign league for loans out.

The user is given full control of a team, including tactics, transfers, stadium and finances with a senior and youth squad. During the season they run foreign offers, scouted players, predictions competitions (both game and real world based) and random events so plenty to do. During the pre season, there is more foreign offers, an auctions, player training and a youth academy which is again really good fun.

The people seem really nice, and the game is highly addictive which is why it is in its 28th season I suppose! I hope to see some of you there as I think it will be right up your street!!

Just got home from Turkey after trying to drink my own body weight in white wine and my new favourite beer Efes, turn on the PS4 was about to put the witcher in and see metal gear solid is free with ps plus. Gunna have a bash see exactly how short it is might try a speed run for a laugh.

Efes is decent! Did you get the Lira after then mate?

I've never got in to MGS games really. Quite funny watching my mate play one on PS2 years ago, putting a dirty mag on the floor for the guards to find!

Yeah got lira but if I go back will get euro everything was priced in euro so when I went to pay they would just triple the euro price but the exchange rate is about 2.6 or something.

Tbh not sure about this one, cut scenes are doing my head in already and controls just feel awkward think I'll just whack my pc on and play some europa universalis there's been an update released today. Payday tomorrow too having a really big fight with myself to not buy elder scrolls online but just know that I will end up regretting it. And yeah I remember the early MGS solid with the mucky mags lol.

Well Steam sales starts Thursday, and gog.com have a sale on right now if you fancy wallet bashing!

**** me I have clocked nearly 500 hours in europa universalis 4 and then Paradox release common sense and it literally shakes the game to the very foundations and I have to relearn basic ****. Great expansion though can finally have a tall kind of play style.

also it's the steam sale tomorrow what are people hoping to get? I am not getting sucked in to buying games I will never play because it's a pound this year ;)

here is is what I am hoping to pick up for 50-75 percent disco

the spatials
making history the great war
doorkickers
running with rifles
and hoping star ruler 2 may have 33 percent off or more, gunna be strict with myself this year and not buy no ****!

I am not even going to contemplate browsing the steam sales.

I made a committment to my credit cards to not do it. I will not break my promise to them. They always end up hurting

Ive set myself a 50 pound limit and that's it hoping won't even spend that tbh

Thing is I really wanted to get Elite: Dangerous. But it's not worth it without an offline mode in my opinion. If you could play it offline with a single player campaign or something I'd snap it up in a heart beat. Real shame as the upgrades I made to my rig means I can play it, and I love Elite. But alas................
