Have you played Witcher 2?
I actually have that on my 360 mate, tried it one day but the controls did my head in. Probably wasn't in the mood at the time lol
Have you played Witcher 2?
Just upgraded my entire rig. Shall be scaring myself ****less with Alien Isolation, then some Dragon Age Inquisition.
So many new games to try now I've been after a good while
Really want to get a decent PC myself mate. Did you do all the upgrades yourself?
Like I mentioned, plays the latest games now but I do have to make adjustments but that's only until I upgrade the GPU to something more recent. Was on a very tight budget
Do yourself a favor, wait for the 300 series.
Been eyeing the 300 and 970 series.
I'm currently on GTX 770 myself, been considering the 970 or 980 but the truth is, I don't really need it/it's not worth the cost. I'm still running games like Arma 3 and GTA 5 on mid-high settings, so the small boost I'll get doesn't justify it.
I saw a lot of people blasting nVidia after the poor optimization for games like The Witcher 3 and Project Cars. There were even conspiracy theories that they were purposely delivering ****** drivers for 6xx/7xx cards to promote their 9xx cards.
How much do you guys think I'd need to spend to get a Gaming Pc to play Witcher / GTA5 etc at a decent rate?
I'd be willing to put it together myself....I think.... Though the thought of messing it up terrifies me lol
Have to admit I'm not entirely sure about specs to play Witcher-only thing that's stopping me playing it on minimum is the graphics card which is annoying.
If you fancy going yolo and making your own rig, just make sure you research everything thoroughly. You can get some good prices for the components. I researched everything-literally-for a few days, so I'd be absolutely sure I knew what I was doing. Researched mobo's, CPU prices, making sure I knew what would work with the mobo-the essential stuff. I was pretty nervy about doing it myself aswell-but it was much easier than I though it would be, as I watched guides on youtube, or read up on them. There's so much information now it can make your job a lot easier.
I've been doing those things too mate!
Can't really spend over 400 though I don't think. Anything will be better than the old laptop I use at the moment though!
Want it in the living room so I can pop the HD cable to tv for films and stuff too
Well the parts I listed for the upgrade on the previous page, came to a total price of £210 (roughly) BUT-I had to get them in a rush as the system was dying and I had to replace the components in a hurry. If I got them online they would've been cheaper without a doubt. I have a feeling you'll be more than able to buy parts to build a rig to play a game like the latest Witcher for under £400 by buying the parts online (and the staff in some places can help you aswell without ripping you off-unlike places like PC World). There's people who've built mid range gaming rigs for about £300
Yeah I'm browsing the PC part picker site and there are a few decent options on there. I have to keep in mind I'll need to factor in an OS, keyboard, mouse and monitor too lol.
After my holiday I think I'll go in to save mode and build up some cash and hopefully get myself a Christmas gift
When you do a successful job-it feels soooo good. It looks daunting because of all the wires etc-but don't let it put you off. If a total tech noob like me can do it anyone can lol.
Also worth remembering aswell that the upgrade to Windows 10 OS will be free aswell
I've seen loads of people saying it's easier than you think..... And I still **** myself at the thought of messing something up!
But I'm tight, so I would rather put it together myself knowing I can get a good build than buying a pre made one that costs as much or more yet doesn't work as well.
Would be nice to know I could upgrade bits too
