What tactic are you using?

4-1-2-1-2, possession game .. with my forward or forwards depending on the game, drifting out wide creating width.

Im using a Brendan Rodgers/Liverpool inspired 3-4-1-2 with one DM bwm and one CM b2b.

My wingbacks are the new complete WB, or whatever they're called. My strikers are a DLF and a F9... but I haven't tested the new F9 role extensively yet, so he may be subject to change. DLF may become a poacher if F9 works out.

Not sure what to do with my lone AMC, role wise. It will take some tweaking to get his link up and defensive balance in tune. May end up dropping him in to a CM slot.

I will be playing this formation with Granada, Liverpool, and maybe Monaco. Southampton is my plan D.

I've got two versions, a control very fluid short pass version... and a more direct counter version.

Betterhalf, will you be making your tactics available? Ill admit im not good at tactics and my 2 yr old means my time to study this is limited. Thanks

Is my main tactic just now. Plays like a 343/3313 in attack. Still seem to concede silly goals but the tactics are still not fluid, so I'm not paying to much attention to my results as of just now. It plays and creates well so for now I'm happy.

Also have a more attacking variant that seems to be working not bad as well.

Are you noticing the DM will drop into the CB space, or is he just sitting infront of them?

Im currently testing a 4-2-3-1 with arsenal and giroud just scored 6 goals in 1 game and then podoslki scored 5 the next with inside forwards adding on top of that, working out awesome so far but we'll see

I've attempted at recreating the Arrigo Sacchi 4-4-2 and testing it out with Man Utd. Only played the preseason and charity shield but its looking promising

Yeah the DM definitely performs like he should in that role. Drops inbetween them in the moments he should, such as when the full backs have joined the attack.

EDIT:

Though Sturridge is annoying me. They still have him playing like was still at Chelsea stuck out on the wing. Which has made me drop him to RW to minimise his time on the ball. And now I've even dropped him for Aspas and put Coutinho back on the wing. Really hope they change Studge for the full release.

For your AMC I would consider the enganche, really helps that link up play between midfield and attack and i think its great in a packed middle of the field like that, i am testing out a similar tactic myself, 3 at the back with 2 WBs, in midfield I have a ballwinning mid in right center and a dlp aside him with the enganche ahead of them, then i have a dlf and poacher. I'm interested to know how the false nine works with another striker, usually in real life the false nines are up there solo with an enganche type player behind and really attacking inside forwards. I think you are using the f9 as you would a shadow striker. Not sure if it would work but maybe if you dropped that f9 next to your other am and played him as an SS next to a playmaking role, enganche, AP etc. just some thoughts.

I'm also testing out another formation for liverpool trying to focus on the DLF-SS combination with SAS, standard back 4, same 2 CM roles, AMR left footed inside forward, AMC SS - suarez, AML right footed AP - coutinho, DLF - Studge.

I'm trying to implement an attacking tiki taka i had in mind and trying to work it out with the new tactic system in FM14. Still need to figure out the best roles as the introduction of the new roles and tactic system really pushed me back atm.
Planning to try and create a Total Football, Tiki Taka, Pass and Move and hopefully an brendan rodgers/liverpool emulation over the year in FM14. :P See if I fail miserably or win epicly!

E: The new tactic system is a bit frustrating. You can't narrow down the tactic into tiny bits of customization. I can't seem to effect how many long shots my player takes, or control his forward runs for example.

Im using a 2 CB, 2 WB, 1 DM, 1 MC, 2 Wings, 1 AMC and 1 Str, with Benfica. With no clue if there are other options, im using 17 shouts. yes, seventeen.

Some info:
AMC in the shadowstriker option is working very well, appearing in the scoring zone a lot.
DMC is working very well this year too, as wel and the MC marking
Shouts for a specific positions are making wonders to my wingbacks.
Only in pre season, but i can say the the marking of the CBs needs some tweaking, just don't know if it's my fault of bug.

Just can't find target man and playmaker option.

Games done:
SLB B - 5-1
Twente - 2-6 (shame)
Greek team: 5-1
