I using a 4-1-4-1 formation, very fluid, attacking, having moderate success with it. I have to say the new tactics system has taken me back a bit, I've been playing the series for 20 years, and its almost making me feel like a noob, feel lost without my sliders haha!

Me too, but i must say, i did get used of it (the sliders off) since fm2013

Few screens. Fairly basic 4141.

Finished the season with Hull, using this tactic. 11th place, which I'm very happy with, considering that I was predicted relegated and my team wasn't the greatest. And I also picked up a lot of injuries, Aluko was injured in 5 months for an example. This was FMC and I didn't used a single player instructions. Only the four team instructions and the player roles you used. Played with the Attacking strategy in every single game, which made me loose with some big numbers away against big teams. 8-0 to Utd for an example. But in most games I didn't concede much. I really loved the attacking play, and the way my team played. Lovely tactic. Hoping to do even better next season :P

sorry where can i see tactic familiarity in FMC?
Its not there. On SI forums the creators are saying that you can change tactics often without the 'punishment' of familiarity and match prep

After an abysmal start, trying to play like I did last season using wingers... your deep 4-4-2 is working wonders with a cash strapped Ipswich now.

Hi guys...cant seem to find an answer i am looking for...pls give me link if i am wrong or just answer.....i am just wondering, appears to me from what you all have wrote that fm 2014 is quite easier than 2013...in a way that you can acctually have 1 tact and stick with it without major changes every game ect...guess you know what i am talking about....ty for answer

On FMC yes that is true. But full game still requires the tactic is fluid

I am trying to re-create my Arrigo Sacchi 4-4-2 tactic currently. Starting as Villa.

Going pretty well so far, 4 wins 2 draws 0 losses in pre-season, including a 1-0 vs juve. In competitive games, 4 wins, 4 draws, 1 loss. The loss came to Sunderland 1-0 where we dominated the game and they had 1 chance and scored. Also not doing amazing holding on to leads, was 2-0 up vs Spurs and Palace and ended up drawing 2-2 conceding late goals.

You could use 1 tactic even in FM13.. I did that in "hc" mode, never used OI, teamtalks etc and won everything always. It is an easy game. Fm13 was plagued by gamebreaking bugs by the release, some of them are not even fixed till today, so sometimes you could do everything right and you lost just because an opposition CB, WB dribbled throught the whole pitch and scored some goals.

But yes, FM14 is easier than FM13 because finally most of things work as should. But pressing, defence and gks are still bad.

Managing FC Porto, using the same good old 451, possession football. It seems easier having possession than FM13, at least for me I am having 65-70% and more even in Champions League. Also developing a 343 like Guardiola use with Barcelona.
