Am just messing around with the new format at the moment basically trial and error.

I using a 4-1-4-1 formation, very fluid, attacking, having moderate success with it. I have to say the new tactics system has taken me back a bit, I've been playing the series for 20 years, and its almost making me feel like a noob, feel lost without my sliders haha!

I am currently testing out my ideas from FM13

- The SPLIT 451 where one side acts like a flat 442 playing a more probing approach to stretch the oppoenents ( i.e creating space) and the other side acting more like a deep 4231, playing more direct and swift to exploit the space the opponent leaves behind.

- The Gyroscope, a 361 where we keep possession withing the counter strategy, using one AMC dropping deep and the other plaing as a shadow striker.

So far, its working really well :D

Spent last night creating a tactic ready for tonight, it's a kind of 4-1-2-2-1 to suit my preference of having fast wingers that exploit space behind the defence. Hasn't gone bad at all so far, unbeaten in the league with Newcastle including four really tough opening games.

A deep 442 that won me a treble with Man Utd first season and promotion from South African First Division with FC Cape Town.

I take 5-10minutes at start of each season or end of transfer window and set each individual player settings allowing me to speed through subs/matches/tactical changes

I have tried a 4-1-4-1 and a 4-2-3-1 with Stockport in my career save but with no luck.

Any advice on some strategies for lower league teams as i did skip FM 2013 so my understanding of the new tactic systems is pretty limited.

Im using 3-5-2 and testing it out with Juve. Altering the Fluidity and Mentality depending on opposition.

Unbeaten as of so far 12 games into seria a season and won 4 of 4 in CL group stage. Despite MAJOR injury crises(anyone else had over the top injuries?)

Tevez, Lichtsteiner, Isla, Quagliarella, Fernando(Porto) all out long term from broken leg, broken arm, broken foot x2 and broken ankle. Asamoah out months with hamstring injury and pogba also out.

Llorente been superb for me in a Targetman-Support role.

4231. Flat back 4, Regata and DLP (dEF), 2 wingers, Enguache and target man, short psssing, exploit flanks. FB's stay wide and run to byline. work ball into box.

Played 3, Won 3, Scored 11 conceded 2, Target Man has 4, CB has 3,

I'm using a replication of TBH's 3-6-1 gyroscope from FM13. the only thing I could copy 1:1 were set pieces settings. I had to think a lot due to removal of sliders and change a lot after watching matches. W(Attack) and WM(auto) didn't work that well for me in defensive, so I replaced them by DW(S) with the ML being more offensive and roaming.

About 1 months ago, I actually unticked all the tweaked sliders in The Gyro, made some small adjustments to the TC settings and it worked just as well. I have set that one up for FM14 as well and the flow of the game is the same.
