Looking for a mid-tier team with decent resources. want to try to get them to top flight and into champions league but can't for the life of me even decide what nation to play in.

I have played previously as
-Reading
-Leeds
-Melbourne Heart
-Athletic
-Valencia
-Montpellier

Wolfsburg, Swansea, Fulham

I have trouble sticking to one save. I have one with Bayern Munich and I won CL, Budesliga and German cup in my second season. Should I be A.C Milan or Aston Villa?

I'd go for ac Milan but Aston villa would be easier IMO.

I would pick Aston Villa, but to make things harder, i would go with cantera challenge, developing AV talents, they have some great ones. You can only buy your ex players, who are products of your academy, no one else. Hope you will enjoy this, if you decide to try it

Hi, I'm looking for quite a big club (e.g. Tottenham), with very solid squad, but predicted to finish top 5/6 maybe, also with some cash to spend. I was thinking about Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao, Valencia, Lille, Bayer Leverkusen or Napoli. Can you recommend one of those club for fun and quite challenging save but also not so difficult? I'm a newbie if it comes to creating tactics but I get bored easily with downloaded ones, so I'd like to manage a team with my own tactic this time, without high pressure from fans and board. Or maybe there are some better teams to meet my expectatoins?

CSKA/Zenit/Rubin/Anzhi
Dynamo Kiev/Shakthar
Benfica/Sporting

the best in their respective leagues, however,ECL would be challenging

Thanks Raikan, I think I'll go for Benfica. Two of my best saves were with portuguese clubs, Sporting (my first team ever in FM, 09 edition) and Porto (FM 12, Hulk was a beast!). Would be fun to win the treble in Portugal ;]

I just want a save that will be fun, and slightly challenging. Post which teams and why / what is a challenge.

Short term:
Chelsea- try to win all seven trophies in the first season.
PSG- go first season unbeaten or have only French players in second season
Man city- try to create a all British team in the first season and never play any foreigners.

Long term:
BSP- get any team from the blue square to the prem.
club and country- find a low ranking country(Wales, Iceland) and manage a club and their national team and try to get them to the top of world football.

How is that going? I'm a Benfica fan and it's always interesting see people from another countries go with my beloved team :)

one of my best saves was with tolouse in france, they have a really good young team but no money to spend, which makes it a really good challenge, won the french cup and finished second in my first season!
another good save im on is southampton, they also have some really good youngsters in there squad!

Didn't have much time lately and I LOVE playing pre-season slowly so I only finished my 1st CL match against Man United away (also with LOSC Lille and some weak team in group). Lost 1-0, they had like 65% of possesion and a lot of shots but only one good chance to score as I was defending very well. I almost scored from the corner but Rodrigo hit the woodwork.
I'm doing fine in the league though, 1st after 5 games with 4 games won and 1 drew (before the CL game). Not bad for my 1st tactic, I believe. I play 4-4-2 with andvanced wingers, so it's more like 4-2-4 and that's a bit difficult as most of the portuguese clubs play 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-2-2-1 and I often struggle to win in the midfield.
And Cardozo is great, 5 goals against Academica ;]

looking for a mid table/ bottom half team
decent squad at the moment around 20-22 players
with a very good youth team and youth system
any ideas?

would love to start an italian save :) and re-live some the childhood moment I had watching Football Italia from 1992 to it's very end in 2008

but who to go that's the ?, I don't want to be in European football (first season) so that rules out Juve, Both Milan clubs, Lazio, Napoli & Udinese
