Who likes rap, and if so, Who is your favourite rap artist and song?

Used to listen to everyone but now I only listen to Eminem. Don't really have a favourite song though to be honest.
 
Used to listen to it for a couple of months but now i hate it, think they all rap about the same stuff. Closest i come to rap now is chris brown.
 
Why do people like Em so much? He was much better before but has more fans now, weird 0.o

I don't get it either, some of his stuff is okay. But where I live, the only people who listen to Em are crack dealing inbred rednecks who ironically drive japanese cars while have stickers of the confederate flag all over it....

So yeah, if these are the types of people who like his music...well I'll make sure to avoid it.
 
This thread makes me cry! I live in america, and it looks like most british people listen to better american rap than americans do. They're all obsessed with lil wayne pretty much, most people will say he's the best rapper >.<

I don't really have a favorite rapper, but the best rapper is Lupe Fiasco. I also love Wale as I'm from his city, Black Thought/the roots, Curren$y, and the blokes from Chiddy Bang are dope. Jurassic 5 are chill

What people try to pass as rap these days sickens me, however good on the guys repping the 90s and earlier. Lots of videos covering a wide spectrum of real rap coming up.

2 pac the best rapper of all time by a country mile when he died so did rap i love all of his songs
 
Old school rap is well better
the likes of 2pac, B.I.G, 50 cent, ice cube, easy, dr dre, ect

they were the real rappers

To be fair, if you look past Eminem's "pop" songs that are clearly just made for the charts, his albums still have quality stuff on. For instance, on Recovery "You're never over" is a beautiful song with so much emotion about Proof, it's the kind of song I expected to be on Relapse, and was delighted to hear him pouring his heart out in his music again, it's by far when he produces his best music. Plus, we know and he knows that he makes chart music for the money, who wouldn't? He still produces top quality songs though in my opinion, he still consistently shows just how good his flow and lyric writing is. He describes it himself on 'careful what you wish for' with "And there was no in between, you either loved it or hate it, every CD critic gave it a 3 then, then three years later they go back and re-rate and call the Slim Shady LP the greatest, the marshall mathers a classic, the eminem show was fantastic".

Plus, someone linked Syllables too, sums up the current industry perfectly.
