Sure. A magical outside kick skill!! But his technique attribute is "9" in FM2011.

What has that got to do with this thread?

He's making the point that even though that particular player will never have superb technique in game, he can score goals like that in real life. You can't change the ability of a player based on one goal.

Ah thank you, late night! Apologies.

Yeah, I don't see understand how his touch and technique is lower than most championship defenders.

Exactly.

Now, Mueller is fantastic, no doubt. We all saw it and his CA/PA is shocking, but don't try using one goal to back it up. His WC performances and fighting his way into Bayern's first team squad says a lot more.

Ugh, seriously, you're comparing a guy in the Irish league to someone who had just won World Cup's Golden Boot, Best Young Player Award? He also consistently played in the highest level of football, playing almost every Bayern game last season as the club won the league and cup double while reaching the final of CL.

Oh and he is renowned for his technique. Go search "Thomas Muller technique" on the google and you'll get what I mean.

Edit: Okay, I'm wrong then. I guess this video is better in the sense that it shows more of his goals.

I'm not denying that Mueller is underrated. However, I am saying that use of youtube examples as proof of his supreme technique is wrong.

Attributes on FM does not prevent you from doing certain things. For examples, having a long shots of 4 doesn't mean that player can't do long shots, it makes it much more unlikely than someone with 18. In the same way, having lower technique doesn't mean he can't pull off moves like the ones displayed, it's just more unlikely.

I reiterate, though, that I think he's underrated and should have higher technique.

You are not getting it. I was ridiculing the fact that one goal was used to demonstrate it. We all know Mueller's massively underrated in the game, which is why Klinsi19 was directed to the SI forums.

I refer to my earlier post for further explanation.

The irony is on his wikipedia page.

"He has been praised for his pace, technique and composure"

Did read somewhere a German FM fan was saying that the stats for the German players were correct but as everyone overates the English players SI have also fallen into the trap of believing it as well. Dont know if I can find the blog for it again.

Ya, instead of backing it up with one goal I backed it up with around 15 goals and numerous assists (in the video) and some facts. And my first 2 paragraphs were posted before I edited my post and add in the last paragraph and a video.

What am I still doing wrong?

Right, third time.

We agree that he's underrated, and we did so all along.

And that the English players are generally overrated I can agree with.
