January 2014

Rodriguez Out For 3 Months!!!

View attachment 363975

January Fixtures

View attachment 363974

So we had a few friendlies to get back into the swing of things after the winter break before coming back from a goal behind to beat Hannover thanks to De Bruyne and Olic.
Our other match this month was against Title rivals Dortmund which we managed a draw with De Bruyne grabbing our goal.

League Table

View attachment 363973

So were top of the table at 3 points clear of Dortmund and 4 ahead of Bayern but they do have 2 games in hand on us. I cant believe were top of the table despite not being able to beat Bayern or Dortmund in the league so far this season.

Player Stats

View attachment 363972

Olic is second to Lewandowski at the moment in the race for the Golden Boot with 11 goals whilst Caliguri in second place for the most assists.

You're flying mate!!!
Is Wolfsburg any fun?? I'm thinking of doing a Wolfsburg save!!

There pretty good fun, have a lot of good young players but i think most German clubs have a lot of potential in them, the only downer is i was expecting more money to spend as were not in any sort of debt and the balance is good but they just dont want to give me any money.

Arnold To Miss Rest Of Season

View attachment 363853

Im gutted about this injury as the young German has been in amazing form so far this season and now joins Rodriguez on the first team long term injury list.

February Fixtures

View attachment 363852

5 wins in a row this month, Were not blowing teams away but were getting the job done. My tactic is called shots Galore so it would be nice if we had a few more dominant performances but im glad we have made the German Cup Semi Finals were we will have the chance to face Mainz one of the few teams to beat us so far this season.

League Table

View attachment 363847

Bayern are top of the table thanks to a better goal difference whilst we are 3 points clear of Dortmund i just cant see us fighting off Bayern in the league with them being unbeaten in 23 league matches so far this season.

Player Stats

View attachment 363846

Olic is a mile behind Lewandowski in the race for the golden boot now as he smashes in goals left, right and centre and has me seriously worried about next season when he joins Bayern!

Caliguiri Out For 7 Weeks!

Augsburg End Wolfsburgs 9 Game League Unbeaten Run

View attachment 363724

March Fixtures

View attachment 363723

3 wins out of 5 in the league this month as we started March with a shock loss to Augsburg, they beat us the same way Mainz did with 2 goals in the opening few minutes and then sitting on the lead for the rest of the game. We also lost a hard fought game to Bayern Munich in a top of the table clash.

League Table

View attachment 363722

So after the couple of losses this month we have dropped down into 3rd and you could say were down where we belong. We are well ahead of 4th place so Champions League football next season is almost confirmed and we still have the German Cup Semi Final against Mainz to look forward too.

Player Stats

View attachment 363721

So its the Dortmund and Bayern players dominating most of the charts but we do have Olic in second place in the race for the Golden Boot whilst Kevin De Bruyne is joint 3rd with the most assists.

April 2014

Diouf Out For 5 Months - Ouch!

View attachment 363694

April Fixtures

View attachment 363693

So we obtain hard fought victories at the start of the month in the league before snatching a 1-0 win over Mainz in the German Cup Semi Final setting up only our second German Cup Final in the clubs history against Bayern Munich.
In the next game though Mainz got their revenge in the league beating us again the only other team bar Bayern to beat us home and away in the league this season.

League Table

View attachment 363691

So were 4 points behind Bayern and Dortmund so it looks like 3rd place it will be which at the start of the season i would have been very happy with.
Bayern have been the more dominant force this season but in recent weeks Dortmund have had the more impressive victories and have the better goal difference, they will certainly miss Lewandowski next year.

Player Stats

View attachment 363690

So we have De Bruyne in 4th spot in the assists charts but Olic has been unable to add much to his goal tally with a lot of little injuries as Lewandowski storms the chart with 27 goals!

Olic To Miss German Cup Final V Bayern

View attachment 363687

German Cup Final V Bayern Munich

View attachment 363686

It was an impressive back and forth game which ended 3-3 and went to penalties. Like everyone knows the Germans know how to take penalties with us scoring our first 5 in a row and Bayern scoring their first 6 before defender Trasch broke Wolfsburg fans hearts everywhere by firing it over the bar and giving Bayern a Domestic Treble.

May Fixtures

View attachment 363685

A draw and a win to end the league season with makeshift striker Perisic on fine form with a 4 goals in 2 games with Olic and Diouf both out injured.

League Table End

View attachment 363684

I can be happy with 3rd place and a spot in the Champions League Group stages next season whilst Dortmund slipped up and let Bayern win the league.

End Of Season Stats and Awards - May 2014

Summary

Well it was a pretty good first season in charge, we reached the German Cup Final and loss a hard fought Final on penalties to one of the best teams in the world In Bayern Munich.
We actually spent a large chunk of the season at the top of the table with Dortmund and Bayern looking up at us and have secured European Football for next season.
Players wise, So many of our players have performed so well this season and whats even better is that so many of them are so young that there only going to get better, De Bruyne and Rodriguez had brilliant seasons but so did young German Arnold and centre back Knocke another German with a lot of potential whilst one of my January signings Sebastian Rode has also been incredible.

Wolfsburg Squad In Order Of Apps

View attachment 363661

Top Goalscorer - Ivica Olic - 19 Goals

View attachment 363660

19 goals and 5 assists for the 34 year old former Bayern man an incredible feat and whats even better is he has agreed a new deal at less than half of what he is currently on.

Player of the Year - Kevin De Bruyne

View attachment 363659

14 goals and 16 assists in 39 games for the young Belgian in his first season at Wolfsburg, In my eyes he is surely to become one of the best players in the world.

Young Player of the Year - Ricardo Rodriguez

View attachment 363657

Am i glad i didnt sell him last season for the pittance that was on offer! I was desperate for some sort of funds at the time but now im expecting a good transfer budget so that i dont have to sell to buy.

De Bruyne Makes German League Team of the Year

Best Eleven - This Season

View attachment 363655

We were helped massively by only playing 40 games in total this season whilst 4 of my back 5 played only missed 1 game or less giving us a sturdy backbone which helped us secure 20 clean sheets this season alone.

Right so ive just finished the summer transfer window and im pretty happy with who i managed to bring in, will hopefully post the update tomorrow morning before i go off to work

Summer Transfer Window - July/August 2014

Season Expectations

View attachment 363574

Ooosh! Thats what im talking about, £48Million transfer budget and 300k to play with in the wage budget should give me plenty to play with in the transfer window this summer.

Wolfsburg Release 9 Fringe Players

View attachment 363573

Players Out

So the big transfer deal out this summer was Mame Diouf moving to Sporting for £7.75million, He never really did much for us after scoring 1 goal in 8 games he then got injured for 5 months and i just felt like if i could get some decent money for him he was expendable, i only bought him for £2Million. After that it was only really a few loan deals and the releases, a couple of players left for small fees as clubs who had had them on loan last season agreed deals for them to stay permanently. I couldnt really sell too many players as our first team squad wasnt that big.

Players In

Well first off i will post screenshots of a couple of players i have brought into the first team squad who were out on loan last season just so you dont wonder where they have appeared from.

Nassim Ben Khalifa - ST/AMC

View attachment 363572

Ibrahim Sissoko - AML

View attachment 363571

So i brought in a total of 5 players for £42.5Million in this window and they were mainly younger players with a couple of them German and an experienced centre back.

Michy Batshuayi - ST - £6.75Million

View attachment 363569

An abosloute steal with his release clause so low! I was looking at the likes of Lukaku, Bentek and Bony and getting quoted the big bucks but when i saw him on the cheap like this i snapped him up. He will more than likely be my first choice striker from now on with Olic at his age going to become more of an impact sub.

Ron Vlaar - DC - £6Million

View attachment 363568

Well i when i was looking at where to strengthen i think i got away with it last season but we only have 3 centre backs in the whole first and second team squads! I know i said about how the centre back pairing played 39 games each last season due to no injuries but we would have been buggered if they had picked up a knock.
So i snapped up Vlaar on what i consider a cheap deal, he adds some experience to the back line along with Naldo whilst Knocke is more the youth and speed.

Maximillian Meyer - AMRLC - £19Million

View attachment 363567

Its big bucks for an 18 year old but i know most of you would have heard of this Wonderkid and he fits my motive of Young and German perfectly. I brought him after spending weeks and weeks negotiating with Schalke over a Julian Draxler deal but they wanted over £40Million so i looked at their squad and saw this guy and pinched him instead.

Marko Marin - AMRLC - £7.25Million

View attachment 363566

Another youngish German who i saw on loan on the cheap, He will have to make an impact quick as i tried to get rid of Caliguiri and Sissoko to bring him in but couldnt sell them so hes a bit of a luxury and the squad is looking big in that department.

Odisseas Vlachodimos - GK - £3.7Million

View attachment 363562

I signed the young Greek with the catchy name as a backup to Benaglio with our 2 backups leaving in the summer on free transfers, I did have a bid accepted for Ter Stegen but he chose Barcelona, I didnt really need him but it was a bit of a case of now or never as he will never go for that cheap again.

Loving this story, as with all your others! Do like a Youth Challenge/Story, doing one with Ajax myself but Wolfsburg were a good choice! Good luck.

This is a good looking save. Keep the good work! I'm doing a save with Hoffenheim and it's really tough with Volland and Firmino wanting to leave.

Youth stories are the best! looking forward to seeing your german youngsters in a few years! KIU

Gets better and better mate!

Thanks for following guys, Im really enjoying the save at the moment and cant wait to have a few german regens take the world by storm!
Skyfall - I have not had too much of a problem keeping hold of my better players so far, the media always say various teams are after Rodriguez but then nobody actually puts a bid in for him.

German League Title Odds

View attachment 363424

So were up to 3rd favourites now after finishing in that position last season, Bayern and Dortmund have strengthened a lot this summer with Bayern bringing in Lewandowski, Juan Iturbe and Marco Veratti whilst Dortmund brought in Sahin, Rakitic and Guidetti.

Meyer Becomes Wolfsburg Youngest Ever Goalscorer

View attachment 363418

Well i think almost being 19 is pretty old for our youngest ever goalscorer! It shows Wolfsburg cant have much faith in youth before i arrived.

Champions League Groups Drawn

View attachment 363417

So were 4th seeds in a somewhat tough group, Its an inbetween group with no really big team but no whipping boy either so it will definitely be a bit of a free for all.

August Fixtures

View attachment 363416

4 impressive wins to start the new season before Dortmund destroy us at the end of the month in a 4-1 romping.
Perisic, De Bruyne and Meyer have been in fine form as an attacking trio whilst Olic has come off the bench in a couple of games this month to grab a brace.

League Table

View attachment 363415

Means little at this early stage but Bayern are in fine form with 12 goals in 4 games and no goals conceded so far this season.

Player Stats

View attachment 363414

Perisic has started off in fine form this season with 4 assists and a high average rating.

View attachment 363411

5 wins on the bounce this month including a big Champions League win against Lyon whilst Batshuayi grabbed 2 hattricks this month!

Perisic is still topping the assists chart whilst young German Meyer has made it onto the top 5 for the Golden Boot list.
