Wrexham - All Welsh Affair

World Cup Qualifiers & Friendlies

We began our campaign for qualification to the FIFA World Cup 2030 this summer and have started pretty comfortably.

After a routine victory in Hungary we followed it up with a rather unconvincing victory at Home to Georgia. On paper this was probably the easiest game of the group and had hoped to bump our goal difference up by more than just +2.

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 10.26.45.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 10.27.18.jpg

The game against Denmark was absolutely atrocious and we looked dreadful for the full 90 minutes. We really need to win this game to stamp our authority on the group but were lucky to come away with a point and am not looking forward to the reverse fixture!

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 10.27.03.jpg

Fortunately Denmark drew with Georgia and lost to N Ireland, leaving the door ajar for us to potentially pull away in the next few fixtures should we secure maximum points. However, maybe I am underestimating N Ireland (although they did lose 2-0 to Hungary).

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.19.36.jpg

We also had a couple of friendlies....

Nothing to really write home about but 2 move wins on the board and some Wrexham International debuts.

The Off Season

First we will start with a quick little round up of last season, in which our annual revenue appears to have remained stationary despite such a memorable campaign - A campaign in which we recorded just 3 losses all season!

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 13.26.48.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 13.27.19.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 13.41.22.jpg

Here is a look at our best XI, with Will Russ still proving to be our go to striker, bagging himself an incredible 22 goals.

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 13.27.48.jpg

4 of our players made it into the Championship team of the Year.

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 13.41.54.jpg

We need to carry out some maintenance on the stadium to comply with League requirements.

This will actually see our capacity reduce to just 13,500 which is lower than last seasons average attendance. On the plus side we do have undersoil heating. If we survive this season maybe we can push the board for a new stadium

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 13.30.17.jpg

The board actually approached me about improving the Youth Level, which I happily accepted. This should all go through by the end of next season if all goes to plan.

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 13.31.03.jpg

Finally we have made it to a full 3 stars in reputation and directly behind Welsh rivals, Swansea.

Will we finally be the most reputable Welsh Team by the start of next season?

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.46.38.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.47.11.jpg

The financial boost of the Premier League is staggering, with an incredible £89 Million in broadcasting revenue compared to the £3 Million we received last season!

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.50.25.jpg

My first signing was Joe Fitzpatrick-Barker, a young Welsh RW with bags of potential. It's a position we needed more cover in and as Everton were relegated we activated his relegation release clause and get ourselves a pretty good bargain. He had a successful loan spell with Hull in the Championship last season and think he will deputise Garnett nicely.

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.28.19.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.28.45.jpg

Our biggest signing was for Gareth Swattridge, a 17 year old striker that already has bags of ability. He was a regular for Cardiff in League One last season and could potentially end the season as our number 1 striker.

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.40.17.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 16.40.33.jpg

We needed another AMC/MC and I nearly went for a more senior option but decided to stick with youth and take a punt on Tom Latham. He has decent attributes and will get plenty of game time this season for us.

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 12.29.44.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 12.29.55.jpg

I have prioritised Youth in this season recruitment drive as we have shown how well we can develop young players and generally they have much lower wage demands which may be desirable should we find ourselves relegated this season.

I have faith in the squad that got us to the Premier League and we have much more depth in the squad to cover any injuries and fatigue.

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 14.21.45.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 14.22.00.jpg

We did depart with Elliot Thorpe, a player we signed on a free transfer at the start of my second season. He made 277 appearances for the club and helped us achieve 3 promotions, but ultimately could no longer give him the game time he required.

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 19.07.45.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-16 at 19.07.23.jpg

We still have one of the best coaching setups in the Premier League, not bad for a newly promoted side.

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 14.18.29.jpg

We had a few challenging fixtures in pre season against the likes of Ajax and Stade Rennais but really didn't look out of our depth as the new season is about to commence

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 14.16.22.jpg

Starting Life in the Premier League

We somehow managed to hold Chelsea to a draw on the opening day of the season, despite being comprehensively outplayed for the entire 90 minutes. West Brom and Manchester United then reaffirmed how tough this season is likely to be with comfotable victories over us.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 15.08.50.jpg

After our early struggles we managed to record an extremely lucky victory over Newcastle. The match stats reveal just how fortunate we were, but I couldn't really care less as we get our first ever 3 points in the Premier league.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 15.08.39.jpg

Spurs and Leicester brought us back down to earth with routine victories and already know how painful this season could become, particularly away from home.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 15.09.30.jpg

Another fortunate victory at the Racecourse reiterates how crucial our Home games are going to be for us this season. Although we are still generally outplayed we seem to be getting that bit of luck that we will inevitably need this season - including 2 disallowed goals for them!

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 15.09.47.jpg

So 7 points from our first 7 games is probably better than I had anticipated.

This season is all about survival and we just need to try stay up by any means possible.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 14.45.19.jpg

A couple of victories over lower League opposition gets us to the 4th Round of the EFL Cup. We are set to host Leeds and with the Home advantage is a potentially winnable fixture.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 15.07.31.jpg

I think our ticket office made a slight error in selling nearly 85% of our capacity to season ticket holders.

Although we actually only seem to be utilising 12,500 capacity in the stadium so is actually an even higher percentage.

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 22.22.24.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 22.22.49.jpg

Unsurprisingly we sit bottom on match day revenue and commercial income - Miles behind the Top sides.

Screenshot 2021-02-17 at 11.04.11.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-18 at 22.35.14.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-18 at 22.35.27.jpg

Our Wage expenditure is also substantially lower than everyone else,.

Going to be a very challenging season...

World Cup 2030 Qualification

We managed to win our next 3 qualifiers and cruise through to the World Cup with 2 games to spare.

After a couple of strong performances against N Ireland and Hungry we had to scrape a rather scrappy victory in Denmark, scoring from 2 set pieces. However, the main thing is we got the job done.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 21.38.37.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 21.38.51.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 22.12.29.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 22.10.31.jpg

We managed to round off our qualification campaign with 2 more wins, topping the group by an incredible 11 points! Denmark really didn't put up a challenge and has been an extremely easy campaign.

Screenshot 2021-02-23 at 22.13.21.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-23 at 22.14.02.jpg

Screenshot 2021-02-23 at 22.15.00.jpg

We also had a friendly against Montenegro in which our Wrexham players scored all 3 goals.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 21.51.28.jpg

Harry Wilson breaks the Welsh caps record and is also the current leading goalscorer with 58. A player i'd like to bring to Wrexham in the near future.

Screenshot 2021-02-19 at 21.52.32.jpg

1st December 2029

We started this spell of fixtures with some impressive performances, picking up 5 points from an available 9.

We probably put in our best attacking performances of the season against Burnley and we were extremely unlucky not to come away with all 3 points. However, we did then get rather lucky against Wolves and managed to hold on to our 1 goal margin for the a massive 3 points.

Screenshot 2021-02-24 at 09.48.45.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-24 at 09.49.06.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-24 at 09.49.22.jpg

We have since been on a 3 game losing streak in the Premier league which included a very frustrating loss against Villa. The loss to Bournemouth was wasn't very good considering that was their first win of the season.

Screenshot 2021-02-24 at 09.49.39.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-24 at 09.49.55.jpg
Screenshot 2021-02-24 at 09.50.19.jpg

After all that we sit 19th in the premier League.

It's still exceptionally tight down at the bottom and a victory in our next game could potentially move us up to 14th. Realistically I don't see us staying up this season but we are just going to have to keep going and see where we end up at the end of the season.

Screenshot 2021-02-24 at 09.50.37.jpg

Unfortunately Leeds managed to get the better of us in the EFL Cup 4th Round, holding on to an early goal. Am still awaiting for us to embark on a decent cup run, but I suppose the Premier League survival should be our sole priority this season.

The Story Continues...

After having some computer issues and a very busy schedule, I've finally gotten around to rekindling my FM career. Unfortunately I lost some of the screenshots so is a rather large update on this one.

December started horrendously for us, as our winless record extended to 9 games in the Premier League...

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.18.02.jpg

Fortunately we managed to round the year off with a massive victory over fellow strugglers, Blackburn.

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.18.44.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.29.15.jpg

The euphoria of victory didn't last long as we were quickly reminded of the challenge we face for survival this season, although did manage to grab a rare victory at Craven Cottage.

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.22.20.jpg

Joe Fitzpatrick-Barker bagged himself a hattrick in arguably our best performance of the season as we took another big step to survival. We completely dismantled QPR and really should have won by a greater margin, but all I really care about is the 3 points

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.22.28.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.32.54.jpg

With just 9 games remaining in the season we sit 6 points clear of relegation. Whilst we have a bit of breathing room, we are still going to need a few big results to get us over the line, in what is undoubtably going to be a very nervy few weeks.

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.17.19.jpg

Bournemouth knocked us out in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. I really want a big cup run but this season is all about survival so not overly fussed to drop out early.

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.14.53.jpg

We have received a really good intake of youth players this season, with 6 potential future stars. Dubbed a 'golden generation' we'll have to see if they can fulfill the prophecy.

Paul Williams is the pick of the bunch and has some really promising attributes already, particularly in the finishing department.

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 17.11.46.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 17.12.01.jpg

A final day fixture against Blackburn could be massive, but fingers crossed we have survival secured before then!

Screenshot 2021-04-06 at 22.24.30.jpg

2029/30 Season Conclusion

We managed to follow up our victory over QPR with a massive 3 points at Villa Park to take another giant step towards Premier League survival.

Screenshot 2021-04-07 at 12.26.20.jpg

Another crunch game at the bottom of the table and another thumping win for Wrexham. Many thought we'd crumble under the pressure of these 'cup finals' but we have really turned up when it's mattered and are now on the cusp of staying in the Premier League - 12 points clear with 6 games left to play.

Screenshot 2021-04-07 at 12.27.30.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-07 at 12.27.02.jpg

We are staying in the Premier League!

We managed to hold out for a draw against Liverpool to secure our survival. We actually had a 94th minute penalty saved in the game, so almost pulled off the biggest scalp in the clubs history. However, we had reason enough to celebrate with just the point and can hopefully kick on nwxt season.

Screenshot 2021-04-07 at 22.50.02.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-07 at 22.50.23.jpg

I'm glad we had the season tied up with 3 games to spare as we only managed to get a point out of Blackburn as we end our first ever season in the Premier League in 17th, 10 points clear of relegation - Not a bad debut season with all Welsh players!

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.28.44.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.25.04.jpg

The increase in broadcast revenue is ludicrous, but still have exceptionally low sponsorship considering our Premier League status.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.23.33.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.23.49.jpg

I have been pestering the board to build a new stadium and instead we only manage to get a 500 person capacity increase on the stadium...We literally have £60M in the bank and are only going to spend £70k on upgrades.

My dream for a state of the art 90,000 capacity stadium in Wrexham goes on...

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.30.56.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 09.02.52.jpg

Big budgets by our standards and can hopefully attract some big Welsh names this season!

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.30.44.jpg

great to see this is back and what a first season in the Premier League it has been! I couldn't even stay up in my first season in the Prem with Altrincham on FM20 and that was with no transfer limitations

great to see this is back and what a first season in the Premier League it has been! I couldn't even stay up in my first season in the Prem with Altrincham on FM20 and that was with no transfer limitations

Thanks man. We were greatly helped by the fact QPR, Blackburn and Bournemouth all had terrible seasons - It looks like 36 would have got us relegated in the past few seasons. Probably going to be a similar battle next season though.

World Cup 2030

So my Welsh 23 man squad contains 10 Wrexham players....

Pretty much all of the young players that are coming through are Wrexham based, with the exception of some of the older stars such as Ampadu, Mepham and Matondo. I'm still hopeful of bring some of these faces into Wrexham but currently most don't believe we are of a high enough standard.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.45.56.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 08.41.41.jpg

We had a couple of warm up games before we head over to Spain for the World Cup. Our performances were generally pretty good but we failed to convert our dominance onto the scoreboard.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 11.53.40.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 11.54.13.jpg

Our opening game against Ghana proved to be quite the thriller. Somehow we managed to blow a 3 goal lead, but another couple of goals from Swatridge managed to secure the 3 points. The guy scored 1 goal for us all season and bags 4 in his first competitive start for Wales...

A victory over Iran means we top our group heading into the knockout stages. Although the scoreline doesn't fully reflect it, it was a rather comfotable outing.

Second Round

I really don't know what to say to be honest... but this was quite the statement. Not only that but 10 goals were scored by Wrexham players. We were clinical in front of goal and set a joint record for a highest scoring game at the World Cup. This may actually be the highest scoring game in my entire FM career in all honesty.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 12.57.00.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 12.55.35.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 12.55.27.jpg

Third Round

An early red card for Poland gifted us a place in the Quarter Finals. The result never really looked in doubt from the 9th minute. 3 games away from lifting the World Cup now....

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 16.34.08.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 16.33.37.jpg

Quarter Final

Unfortunately despite taking the lead we couldn't get the better of a strong Mexican side. We struggled to get a foothold in the game and despite throwing everything at them, as you can tell from the below formation that we ended the game with.

It's still been a successful campaign for us and have some exciting youth players in the pipeline for future tournaments.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 17.03.39.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 17.03.10.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 17.03.04.jpg

Well Mexico actually went on to win the World Cup, so really no shame in getting knocked out by them.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 17.19.24.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 17.19.37.jpg

Gareth Swatridge won the Golden Boot and Best Young Player.

He only managed to score 1 goal in 23 appearances for us this season after we signed him for a record fee of £9.5M. At the age of just 18 the future looks very bright, but am hoping he brings this form to Wrexham for the upcoming season.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 22.39.38.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 12.07.07.jpg

So glad this story is back!

Wales lighting up the World Cup, banging 11 past Mali in the knockout stages, absolute scenes!

Looks like you have some decent young Welsh players breaking though, particularly Swattridge. Here's hoping for a slightly easier domestic campaign with Wrexham this season.

2030/31 Season Preview

Once again we are the nailed on favourites for relegation and is going to require another miraculous season to keep us in the Premier League. The aim will be to beat the 3 newly promoted sides as a minimum and keep us up.

Screenshot 2021-04-10 at 11.59.30.jpg

Transfer activity has been extremely limited this season. Gary Beattie was the only player we managed to land, he's more of a squad player but adds some much needed depth to the centre of midfield.

Screenshot 2021-04-10 at 11.58.33.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-10 at 11.59.08.jpg

We did try to land some big name signings, but are still not deemed to be of a high enough stature to attract some of Wales most experienced heads....

Screenshot 2021-04-09 at 23.03.27.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-09 at 23.00.05.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-10 at 21.51.01.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-11 at 09.24.21.jpg

So here is the squad we have going into the new season. In theory we should be stronger than last season as we still have a very young side and a number of players have progressed massively.

Screenshot 2021-04-10 at 11.56.43.jpg

We have some terrific youngsters coming through the academy as well. Unlikely any will feature in the first team this season barring any injuries, but the future looks bright.

Screenshot 2021-04-10 at 11.57.46.jpg

I managed to secure a new 4 year deal, taking me to 2034.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 09.43.39.jpg

We are now officially the most reputable Welsh side having overtaken Swansea. Another season in the Premier League will surely boost us up even further next year.

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 12.31.58.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-08 at 12.31.47.jpg

Both our training and youth facilities were upgraded over the summer. Just need to get one more upgrade in on the Youth facilities and we have achieved the top level across the board.

Screenshot 2021-04-09 at 23.27.51.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-09 at 23.28.58.jpg

So we still sit bottom of the wage expenditure list, light years behind the likes of Chelsea and City.

Screenshot 2021-04-11 at 09.29.21.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-11 at 09.29.32.jpg

It's been a tough start to the campaign, with our only points coming from a last minute winner against Leeds. In all fairness despite the losses we haven't looked too bad and I'd say stronger than last year. We are going to need a bit of luck for sure but am hopeful we can pull off another escape.

Screenshot 2021-04-11 at 21.19.35.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-11 at 21.19.50.jpg

I completely rotated the starting XI for the EFL cup tie against Barnsley and we managed to effectively get the job done thanks to a Will Russ hattrick. We will now host League Two side, Forest Green Rovers and hopefully an easy route into the 4th Round.

Screenshot 2021-04-11 at 21.46.58.jpg

Screenshot 2021-04-11 at 21.47.38.jpg

We are definitely putting up more of a fight this season, but are still lacking the quality to get us points on the board in the League. It feels like most of the sides we play are just much more clinical and convert their chances where we seem to miss the few that we create.

Despite the League struggles we did manage to beat Forest Green Rovers in the EFL Cup, something we were expected to do.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 13.27.58.jpg

We then had back to back home games against 2 sides that were just promoted last season and managed to record to massive victories to provide some hope of Premier league survival. Whilst we definitely outplayed Derby, the reading result was extremely flattering and was a much closer game than the scoreline suggests. Even so 6 points on the board and just as importantly denying them points in the process.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 13.28.09.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 13.28.21.jpg

Norwich quickly brought us back to reality with a thumping defeat, before we managed to scrape past Brentford in the EFL Cup 4th Round on penalties.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 13.28.33.jpg

We have been granted another good draw, going up against Nottingham Forest at home for a place in the Semi-Finals! They are currently bottom of the Championship, so is a game we really must be winning. A long way to go be we are 3 games away from silverware and a Europa league spot....we can only dream.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 13.27.12.jpg

It's all looking rather close at the foot of the table as we are just 2 points clear of the drop. Already looks like it is going to be more tense than last season, as even Man United are only 4 points above the relegation spots.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 13.28.53.jpg

1st January 3031

We start November with 3 consecutive draws, picking up some important points, particularly the one against Liverpool. We actually missed a penalty in stoppage time to deny us clinching all 3 points.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 22.57.29.jpg

Following the defeat to Wolves we manage to pull off the biggest result in my domestic career to date, beating Manchester United in front of a sellout 13,000 at the Racecourse Ground. We defended valiantly and managed to convert our chances as we start to look more settled to Premier League life.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 22.57.41.jpg
Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 22.58.27.jpg

We nearly followed it up with another good point at the Emirates, but fell to a late goal. However, we bounced back with a victory over Burnley and a penalty shootout victory over Forrest to book a place in the EFL Semi-Finals.

Screenshot 2021-04-17 at 08.50.48.jpg

Having avoided Premier League sides all the way through we go up against Fulham for a place in the Final at Wembley. Whilst Fulham are having a strong season we have already held them at home this season, but is going to be tough across the 2 legs.

Screenshot 2021-04-16 at 23.46.44.jpg

We round the year off with some more valuable points in the race for survival.

Screenshot 2021-04-17 at 08.51.00.jpg

So we head into the New Year 13th in the Premier League and 4 points above the drop zone. With only 7 points separating 10th and 19th it's looking likely to be a very tense battle at the bottom come the end of the season.

Screenshot 2021-04-17 at 08.51.17.jpg

Despite a couple of heavy defeats to England we did manage to retain our place in the UEFA Nations League A. We are starting to look like a top tier side these days but clearly a bit off the pace of the likes of England.

Our reward is a relatively easy Euro qualifying group. We are the top seeded side and should really be aiming to progress in 1st place with out many hiccups.

Wembley Bound?

We kicked off the New Year with a very late winner over League One opposition, Crewe. It should have been an easy game on paper and a comfortable route to the 4th Round, but it turned out to be anything but - Fortunately we avoided an unnecessary replay.

We then ground out a bore draw at Craven Cottage in our EFL Semi-Final first leg. They fully deserved to win the game but keeping the game level going into our home fixture is massive, especially as our form at the Racecourse Ground has been immense this season - Can we make a cup final?

Before our highly anticipated second leg we had some business to attend in the League and FA Cup, which included some very good results. Victories over Leicester and Newcastle as well as a point at Stamford Bridge against League leaders Chelsea, surely show signs that we have the quality to avoid relegation.

After losing to West Brom in the League we sought instant revenge, thrashing them 4-0 in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. Another big statement victory and potentially the start of another cup run this season?

Unfortunately we wont be heading to our first cup final, as we fall to a disappointing defeat in the 2nd Leg. Fulham were already dominating the game before Cabango received a red card just after the break, and we had no chance after that. We threw what we could at them but created very little in the end and Fulham fully deserve to go to the Final.

Again we struggled to attract the few big Welsh names that we are interested in, but did get a deal done for Neco Williams on deadline day. He hasn't developed as well as I'd expected since the start of the save, but is still a highly experienced player to bring in for just £6M. Hopefully he can prove to be a useful addition for us.

I also brought in youngster, Kyle Bibby. All i can really do i sign youth prospects and considering our state of the art facilities and coaching, I'm hoping they can really develop into future stars. He joins for a potential fee of £5M.

After a strong month in the Premier League we have managed to open up a 10 point gap on the relegation zone and are actually closer to the European places (9 points). Still a long way to go but we need just 11 points from 14 games to reach the golden 40 point benchmark and avoid relegation.

We kicked off February with a stunning 10 man comeback against Spurs. We found ourselves a goal down and a man down at half time but Will Russ scored a 2 minute brace to secure us victory. Russ has been with us since the Vanarama National League Playoffs and is still scoring in the Premier League - A true club legend!

We followed up that famous victory over Spurs with the most unlikely of points at the Ethiad - Just look at those match stats!

We literally had 3 shots and scored all 3 in response to their 40 shots! Lewis Webb even denied Vinicius Junior the match winner from the penalty spot as we clung on for a point. I mean it wasn't pretty football but who really cares!

Our next couple of fixtures weren't quite as eventful..

Unfortunately we fail to get past Burnley in the 5th Round of the FA Cup despite dominating the tie. I was sure we were going to equalise, but the goal just didn't come and now all our focus is on the League.

This was also my 600th game in management - My entire FM career to date in this save!

We keep the points tally ticking over, including a victory over Villa that means we leapfrog them in the table. We have already beaten last seasons points tally and still have 7 fixtures to play! Relegation and Europe are now both out of sight, but with the League as close as it is we could realistically finish mid-table/top half.

The latest Youth Prospects....

We then went into the International break, kicking off our Euro 2032 qualifying campaign.

It was a couple of routine victories against Armenia and Israel getting us off to a perfect start. As expected it's already shaping up to be a head to head battle between ourselves and the Czech Republic for the top spot.

Gareth Swattridge scored another 5 goals in our 2 games and now has an incredible 17 goals in 15 games for Wales!

He is now dubbed a Wonderkid by the media and has started to excel for us in the Premier League this season and is still only 19 years old! I have managed to lock him down on a new deal but couldn't avoid an £82M release clause - Surely nobody will trigger that though....

Absolutely loving this story and thinking of doing something similar myself!

Out of curiosity, can I ask what logo pack you have? Particularly I am interested in the mini nation logos if that makes sense? For example on your fixture list for Wales it shows the nations badges rather than flags.

I have the nation badges but for some reason still have the nation flags appearing on fixture screen etc and group tables.

Thanks!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the story mate, it is a fun challenge to try!

I just tried looking through my folders and unfortunately haven't got the file name anymore as I usually just copy the graphics over from each FM to the next. Although I definitely would have got it off FMScout and think it might have been the link below..... However, it looks like the download has since been removed due to copyrights i'm afraid.
