Spot on IMO. These are the best we have available in terms of English managers, and I wouldn't want to see any of them anywhere near the England job.

Also I'd like to just say that I don't agree with all the stick going the way of Roy Hodgson. By no means do I think he's perfect, and IMO he has made mistakes. But I also believe that the 11 he selected for this game, whether it be the 11 you would have picked or not, should have been more than...

But that's just it, we do need outside help. The national side has failed under English managers for decades, and there is a total dearth of talented English coaches. The difference between us and those countries you mentioned is that they regularly produce talented coaches. England doesn't...

I really don't get the obsession with it having to be an English manager. If it's a choice between the likes of Southgate and pardew or a decent foreign manager I'd take the foreigner in a heartbeat. That said, I'm struggling to think of many great options at all, English or foreign.

Bit of a step down from the Southend job isn't it? TBH unless the FA are willing to employ a foreign manager (really don't see why they are so fussed about it tbh), sacking Roy is pretty pointless. I'd love to see Brendan Rodgers as England manager but of course he'd never take it.

er... the big criticism that people make of Webb is that he has a tendency to bottle big decisions, which is the complete opposite of what you're saying. But I'm not sure if you're trolling or not.

Webb was not perfect but no referees are. He was definitely one of the best around. Real shame, that.

I was about to make pretty much the same post. I do feel Scholes is more appreciated now than he was 6 or 7 years ago, but it's too late for England now.

If I was a Pool fan I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club. Even when you take away the baggage that comes with him I actually think he's slightly over rated.

I don't agree with what Silvestre says here TBH. "They already have that type of player- sharp, quick" Well, yes that's because those players suit Arsenal's style. Also just because two players are both short and quick, doesn't mean they are the same type of player. He compares Sanchez to...

They've been testing it out on the Southampton squad and the results have been brilliant.

I agree although Pochettino leaving is probably also part of the problem and a big factor in the departures and mooted departures of certain players.

Verminator is a bit of a liability with his tendency to charge up the pitch to win possession. Then again, there's much more licence to do so in a 3 man defense so he could be a good fit if LVG goes with the man marking 3-5-2 he used with Holland. In fact he's the perfect defender for tightly...

I agree that he was harshly (and sometimes plain wrongly) criticized, and he certainly hasn't been any worse than anyone else recently. In fact, I'd say he was one of our better performers at the WC, but it is the right time for him to retire. We have a few options to replace him, the problem...
