Too close imo.

After Messi, then Ronaldo, you've got about 10-15 players who could all make strong claims to be there.
 
Can't comment really as I only watch the premier league bar a few champions league games. I wouldn't say Silva though, the wind has certainly left his sails since the turn of the year. To be up there with Messi and Ronaldo though, you can't have bouts of form, you've got to be consistently good all season and not many players can do this.

I'd say Robin Van Persie but you know, I'm sure there is many worthy candidates that I just haven't seen enough of.
 
Although he might not be 3rd best in the world I think fully fit Robin Van Persie can mix it with anyone in the world. A shame that he's always injured
 
3rd best after Ronaldo and Messi, is a tight one, but for the past season, it would have to be one of the following:

Mario Gomez
Neymar
Andres Iniesta
Wayne Rooney
