well done good result against Colombia but unlucky against Brazil

Top Notch mate, Good luck in the rest of your career.

As this is now an award winning thread :p thought I would bring it back ok so there has been a few games since I last updated and the fixtures included back to back games against Arsenal and the first group games in Europe so exciting times.....

SUNDERLAND 0 - 0 AFC WIMBLEDON
A bore draw nothing much happened, we did however have a goal disallowed for offside which was questionable but in the end a good point away from home and keeps up our mean defensive record at the start of the season

AFC WIMBLEDON 2 - 0 NEWCASTLE - ZEMAN, NECID
A solid performane, and a game we dictated from the start, we got the first right on half time, after a sustained peice of pressure which produced no fewer than 12 attempts at the Newcastle goal. Zeman was the man to cooly slot home after great work down the wing by Salvador. The second came with 15 minutes when Tomas Necid was able to use his pace and get in behind the Newcastle defence and finish past the oncoming keeper

AFC WIMBLEDON 3 - 0 AaB- CAMPOLI, DAWSON (2)
The first group game in Europe and a solid start, all the goals coming in the first half. The main man at the back Campoli was able to get forward from a corner and get the first goal with a brilliant header. The second and third goals both came about due to the brilliance of Louis Dawson. The first a screamer from 30 yards which nearly broke the net and the second demonstrated his ability to get forward at the right time as he got onto a great deep cross from Treacy. A great start to the group.

STOKE 0 - 1 AFC WIMBLEDON- ZEMAN
A game of few chances and it took a moment of brilliance on 56 minutes from Zeman, he beat not one not two not even three men but four before rounding the keeper and sticking it in. A good result at tough ground. Also another clean sheet for the lads.

(LEAGUE CUP) ARSENAL 3 - 2 AFC WIMBLEDON- ZEMAN, CARRICO
A really open game and a joy to be part of as both teams played great attacking football. Arsenal had the better of proceedings attempts wise but it was 50/50 possesion, and we did take the lead in the first ten minutes when Carrico got on the end of a free-kick at beat his man to power a header home. The lead lasted all of two minutes as Arsenal did what Arsenal do best and carve open teams to get Nasri in for the equaliser. But we were not about to lie down and the Wimbledon fans were heard singing 'Anything You Can Do, We can Do Better ....', just before half-time as Zeman finished a goal Arsenal would have been proud of as the moved started in the left back postion and was passed through the midfield before Zeman finished the move. We were dreaming of the next round and we were holding on but something had to give and on seventy-two minutes Sankere scored the equalsier after a scramble in the box. The winner was scored with six minutes to go as Wijindulam was able to get free of his marker and brilliantly finish to break Wimbledon hearts, we don't have long to wait to put this result right as we have Arsenal at home in the next game.

AFC WIMBLEDON 1 - 1 ARSENAL- ZEMAN
This was a complete contrast to the game mid-week, we were the teams asking the questions and we made Arsenal chase our shadows for the whole game. We didn't manage to score until the fifty-four minutes when Zeman pounced on an error by Nasri and place the ball into the back of the net. We held the lead for longer than we did at the Emirates Stadium, nine minutes this time. Eduardo was the man to draw Arsenal level and Beniot Costil the Arsenal Keeper was the man to keep it at 1-1 for the rest of the game.

RAPID BUCHAREST 0 - 3 AFC WIMBLEDON- ZEMAN, BUONONATTE, GBEMIE
Another good performance from the boys in Europe. Gbemie broke the dead lock just after the half hour with a scremer from 25 yards out after moving up from the back it was so unexpected it was reported that more than 200 Wimbledon fans thought it was a different player and not Gbemie. Diego Buononatte added to lead on forty-five minutes with a great free-kick from the edge of the box. The third came in added on time and of course came from that man Zeman with a great dribble past the centre half and cool finish past the keeper. The one sour note for this game was the sending off of Pearce on the hour it did not effect the result as it turned out but he will be missed for the next game.

AFC WIMBLEDON 1 - 1 MANCHESTER CITY- DAWSON
A big game again at home against one of the big boys, and once again even though I told the lads they didn't like it we ruffled the feathers of Manchster City. Our goal came on six minutes when Dawson showed why he was called up to the England Squad with a great strike from 25 yards out. We gave as good as we got in the rest of the game but a moment of inspiration by Obasi was our undoing and left us with a point. We did however leave our mark on one of the big boys once again.

top work all round. No wonder this got an award:):):)

Along with the Dons of course I am managing Uruguay and we had two games in here they are..

URUGUAY 4 - 0 VENEZUELA - BARRETO, PEREIRA (2), POLENTA
A good solid performance from the boys we played fast atttacking football that the oppositon couldn't handle, we were even able to go down to ten-men and miss a penalty. We took the lead as early as the sixth minute when Barreto dribbled through the defence to score. The second and third goals were identical to one another as Periera stuck the ball into the back of the net from just inside the box after a lay-off from Barreto and then Albin. The fourth came from a corner as Polenta opened his account for the country and completed the rout.

BOLIVIA 1 - 4 URUGUAY - BARRETO (2) PEREIRA, CACERES
The team showed why they are second in teh standings with this result as we outplayed and outclassed Bolivia. Periera broke the deadlock with a great free-kick into the top corner on 26 minutes, we didn't double our lead until the fourtith minute when Barreto headed from point blank range he added the third and his second with a great turn and finish in the box. The scoring wasn't over as Caceres got onto a great Albin free kick from deep to volley home past the keeper. Bolivia did grab a goal but it did not effect the result as we held on to second snapping at the heels of Brazil.
