Naa havnt really done alot with him but hes a proper class act player this season. Hes had a bad injury so hes missed 4 months but hes come back even better than he started the season. Pure Quality. I think i had Axel Witsel and Steven Defour tutoring him when he first arrived.

Thanks mate. Its gone so quick, Season 4 already. I loved the title race last year, This season is going to be a cracker aswel, Title race with Anderlecht this time and the Champions League coming round again soon. Woop-Woop!
 
Well done on qualifying mate tough draw against Bayern but good luck. VDV is a good signing maybe old but should still do a thing or to for you.

Cheers mate. Last season i drew to Real Madrid 1-1 and this season ive beaten Roma 1-0 away but i think ill lose 1 of the legs quite badly lol. Ive not mentioned this in the story but i got Van Der Vaart after requesting him from my board so they spent £625k on his transfer and gave him £47,500k p/w wages soo its an expensive deal. Steven Defour is happy though, Hes got a highest earner clause in his contract so he got a £27,500 p/w rise from his £20k p/w contract. Bad deal financially, VDV hasnt done alot on the pitch either so im kind of regretting it now.

Nearly promoted OH Leuven faced Standard Liege in the first ever league match at Standard Stadium. The first half was all Liege with 3 chances for Caio all carelessly wide and Rits narrowly over it was heading to half time at 0-0. Ojo was handed a debut but was forced off with injury after 44 minutes. In the second half the goal came, Bryan Rabello with a cross from the right and Maksim Skavysh was there to head in. An opening day win for Liege, A good start for the Champions.

Next up for Liege was Gent away. Standard started well with an opening goal coming from an Axel Witsel penalty and shortly after Barbaric nodded in Defour’s corner to make it 2-0. Gent won a corner on 37 minutes and Wantens headed in at the far post to put them right back into the game before half time. Despite the late first half promise from Gent they never really got going after the break and Standard Liege saw the game out to keep their 100% record going in Pro League this season.

Club Brugge travel to Standard Stadium today and they didn’t get off to a good start with some poor marking from a Steven Defour free-kick, Tomislav Barbaric strolled into the 6 yard box to head in. That woke up the away side as Raiha ran unchallenged before letting fly from 20 yards to put Brugge level. It stayed like that for the rest of the game to see Standard drop early season points yet again.

TAUFIC GUARCH SIGNS FOR STANDARD LIEGE - Yannick Reuter, 16, moves on loan to Roeselare. Dubbed next Steven Defour. Interest from all the big Euro clubs.

Standard travel to Antwerp looking to get back on track after dropping home points against Club Brugge. New signing Taufic Guarch started in a very attacking 4-2-2-2 formation and after just 90 seconds Taufic Guarch grabbed his first goal for Liege after a lovely through pass from Defour. Guarch had a 2nd when Axel Witsel slid him in. Antwerp having real problems defending Guarch’s pace. It was 2-0 at half time, The 3rd Liege goal came from Barbaric, No prizes for guessing how he scored. Then came the bizarre last 10 minutes as Gillis clears the ball against team mate Martens in a tight situation it ended up in the Antwerp net to make it 4-0. Antwerp then dittoed the trademark Barbaric corner routine with goals for Zhang Bing on 86 minutes and Venaken in stoppage time to claw back a little bit of pride.

This game could have gone either way in the first half had it not been for Steven Defour taking the corners and Tomislav Barbaric heading in for the first goal just before half time. That goal knocked the stuffing out of Genk and the tricks and expansive pacey play began again. On the hour Taufic Guarch scored his 3rd goal in just 2 games for the club before another set piece was converted by Barbaric for 3-0. Sir Defour with the free-kick. Long may this kind of form continue after the international break.

Thanks mate. Slow progress though. Pro League still 14th in the Competition Rankings but Standard climbing up through the Club Rankings and the Rich List and getting stronger every year. I want the league rapped up abit easier this season, The past 2 years its been on the last day.
